Corruption Looms

vendredi 21 mai 2021Duration 06:07

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Genesis 6:12 which says " God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways."

"The difference between God of this time, and the God we know today is that Jesus paid the ultimate price. So we don’t have to worry about a flood, but we do still have to be weary. The same corruption looms and it’s up to us if we are going to allow it to enter our hearts.

We can find corruption at every level, it exists in the school system and among the highest seats  of government. Why? Because this world is the enemy’s playground and corruption is his love language.

The good thing about the God we serve is that he has a different love language and that is grace. How lucky as we to have a father like this.

My prayer for us today is for us to stay weary from the corruption. Try and guard your heart from allowing such poison to infiltrate. Let’s lean onto him for strength. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Genesis 6:9 which says "This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God."

"He was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and we walked faithfully with God.

These are esteemed words, and words that I pray can be said about me, and you for all of our days.

I hope that when others look at us they know we are righteous. Not righteous as in an arrogant person, but righteous as in they know we stand with God.

I want others to feel the presence of God where ever we go. I hope we love on those we come into contact with. I pray that their lives are impacted because we walk faithfully with God.

It’s hard sometimes, but it’s rewarding and it’s worth it. I pray He is the venter of our lives and others can feel nothing but his goodness, grace, mercy and love through our actions. "

Don't Dim The Light Inside

mardi 18 mai 2021Duration 05:23

This is Episode 252 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

Find us on Instagram: @mymorningdevo

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 1 John 3:12 which says "12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous."

"Everyday we battle the Cain from within. No we aren’t going to kill our brother, but we do have an Able inside. The Able is righteous part of you. Its actions, and its way of living is in right standing with God, but we have a Cain that works really hard to kill the Able.

It’s so much easier to do so. It’s easier to give into sin than to live in righteousness. It’s easier to give into society, it’s easier to give into our rage and jealously. It’s easier to be this person, but this verse is instruction us, do not be like Cain!

Don’t kill the light from within. Don’t dim your communication with God. Don’t dismiss when he speaks or pushes you to do something. Don’t undermine the true power of living a righteous life. You’ll end up hurt and alone engulfed in fear. "

Rule Over Your Sin

jeudi 13 mai 2021Duration 05:37

This is Episode 249 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

Find us on Instagram: @mymorningdevo

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Genesis 4:7 which says "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

"Continuing our study on persons of the bible and today we are reading over the story of Cain and Abel.

...

He is giving Caine to outcomes, you either do what is right, or you don’t. When you don’t do that is right, the outcome is sin. God is clear, you must rule over it.

We have the ability to stay strong in our faith. We have the ability to turn away from our sinful nature. We can learn to surrender our anger, jealously, and other ugly emotions. We must not hold them in, it will only continue to grow until it becomes all consuming.

May we hold onto God’s words, If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? The solution to ruling over our sin is very simple, lean on what is right. "

Our Tree of Life

mercredi 12 mai 2021Duration 07:36

This is Episode 248 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

Find us on Instagram: @mymorningdevo

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Genesis 3:22-23.

"Continuing our study on Adam & Eve. - The third thing that really stood out to me was the line that says “He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever”

We learned earlier in this book that there were two trees. The tree of life, and the tree of knowledge. They were allowed to eat from the tree of life, but they were not allowed to eat from the second tree. In this line we see that God is so angry He has taken away the tree of life from Adam and Eve’s reach.

We know that Jesus came to pay the ultimate price. He is the tree of life that we get to drink from. He is the water that will never allow us to be thirsty. He is the reason we get to live forever.

Adam may have messed things up for us, but Jesus came to rectify it. We are a lot like Adam, but we have a mighty savior who wants to save us. It’s our choice if we want to drink from His well. "
