100: #100 How Neurodiversity Can Shape Your Business Journey

Episode 100

jeudi 17 octobre 2024Duration 26:53

This is a big one. It’s episode 100 of Life in Business (🥳), and it just so happens to fall on the relaunch day of my book — Life in Business: Easy Ways to Work Less, Earn More and Embrace True Happiness. In today’s episode, I’m reflecting on the journey that brought me here: being diagnosed as autistic and ADHD in my 40s, understanding why business always felt like a puzzle, and finally being able to create — and teach — a way of working that actually fits.

I share how my neurodivergence influences everything I do (from podcasting to program design), what finally made this business feel easy, and how sticking with this podcast — something I never do! — changed everything. I also talk candidly about how I wrote a book for neurodivergent business owners without even realising it… and why I’m so proud to relaunch it today with a new cover and an updated author's note that truly reflects where I am now.

This episode is a celebration. Of you. Of me. Of doing things your way and letting that be more than enough.

📘 Grab the Book:
Life in Business: Easy Ways to Work Less, Earn More and Embrace True Happiness is available now on Amazon. The new edition includes reflections on being a neurodivergent business owner and how to build a business that actually fits who you are.

99: #99 Why Sales Feel Hard (and How to Make It Easier)

Episode 99

jeudi 10 octobre 2024Duration 27:19

Today we’re having a real heart-to-heart about why sales sometimes feel so flipping hard — and what to do instead. Spoiler: the answer isn’t “post more on Instagram.” In this episode, I’ll walk you through why more content doesn’t always mean more clients, and how the real fix is looking at your foundations, not your marketing tactics.

I’ll share how pushing, forcing, and ‘more-ing’ your way to success is often a sign of misalignment — and why everything changes when you reconnect with your vision, your purpose, and what you actually care about. I’m talking building your business from the ground up, not the roof down — and why that shift is the key to finding flow and making sales easier (and more joyful!).

🎯 If your message feels fuzzy, your energy feels off, or your content feels flat… this episode is for you.

90: #90 How to Build Momentum in Your Business (Without Burnout)

Episode 90

jeudi 8 août 2024Duration 27:47

This week’s episode is all about releasing the pressure — because forcing your business forward doesn’t get you where you want to go, and it certainly doesn’t make the journey enjoyable.

I’m talking about why some offers feel like a slog (even if they’re “successful”), how neurodivergence has shaped the way I work, and the difference between chasing what you “should” do versus building what truly lights you up. You’ll hear why I turned down work that didn’t align, how I found the courage to ditch one-to-one coaching, and what happened when I gave myself permission to do business my way.

If you’re tired of trying so hard, or chasing someone else’s version of success, this episode will help you breathe a little deeper — and trust that your best business is the one that rolls with your rhythm.

💡 When you stop trying and start being, your business becomes lighter, more joyful, and far more effective.

89: #89 Why Running a Business Feels Hard (and How to Simplify It)

Episode 89

jeudi 1 août 2024Duration 28:01

Today’s episode is a bit of a pep talk and a big exhale. Because some days just feel hard — whether it’s your energy, your mindset, or things simply not clicking the way you want them to. I’m right there with you.

I’ll talk about what to do on those low-energy days (spoiler: being kind to yourself is key), why pushing through isn’t always the answer, and how to recognise if you’re trying to “build your business upside down.” We’ll explore the real reason marketing might feel exhausting — and why it’s often a sign that your business foundations need some love.

This episode is all about creating ease through alignment: knowing your energy, your purpose, your rhythm — and letting that guide how you build and run your business. I’ll share how I structure my own time, why I ditched one-to-one coaching, and how Confidence to Grow helps my clients roll, not push.

💡 When you know what truly matters to you, everything else starts to feel lighter — and your business gets a whole lot easier.

88: #88 How to Stand Out in Your Industry (Even If You Feel Invisible)

Episode 88

jeudi 25 juillet 2024Duration 28:41

Feeling invisible in business can be crushing — but it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. In this episode, I’ll help you unpack where that feeling comes from, and how to reclaim your confidence, purpose, and visibility… one person at a time.

In this heartfelt episode, I’m talking about the very real, very common feeling of invisibility — especially as women in business. Whether it’s the pressure of social media, the comparison trap, or just a general sense of “am I even being seen?”, I want to reassure you that you're not alone… and more importantly, that it’s something you can gently shift.

We’ll explore why feeling invisible is often rooted in a lack of alignment or clarity, and why showing up doesn’t have to mean shouting the loudest. Visibility isn’t about chasing followers — it’s about being known for the right reasons by the right people, and that starts with reconnecting to your purpose.

I’ll walk you through some simple mindset shifts and practical ways to show up in your business that feel good (not forced), and help you move from hidden and hesitant to visible and valued.

💡 You don’t need millions of followers to make a meaningful impact — just the quiet confidence to show up as you, one conversation at a time.

87: #87 Why Staying Small Can Help Your Business Grow Faster

Episode 87

jeudi 18 juillet 2024Duration 27:34

There’s a myth out there that success means a seven-figure business, a flashy team, and an agency setup — but that’s not the only way to grow. In fact, I believe (and have experienced firsthand) that staying small can often be the most powerful route to success.

In this episode, I’m talking about what it really means to be a “company of one,” why I made my staff redundant and returned to working from home, and how redefining success helped me build a simpler, more profitable, and much happier business. We’ll explore how outsourcing key tasks — like to a VA, a podcast editor, or an accountant — can still support growth without giving away your autonomy or peace of mind.

If you’ve ever felt the pressure to go bigger just because that’s what the internet says, I’m here to give you full permission to say “no thanks” — and grow your business your way.

💡 Staying small doesn’t mean playing small — it means choosing sustainability, alignment, and joy over unnecessary complexity.

86: #86 How Showing Up Unfiltered Can Grow Your Business

Episode 86

jeudi 11 juillet 2024Duration 27:56

Let’s talk about authenticity — yes, that overused word — but in a way that actually means something. Today I’m sharing what it really looks like to embrace your quirks, your imperfections, your slightly chaotic brain, and be confident in showing up just as you are.

From forgetting names mid-sentence (EdgeRank, anyone?) to ditching the pressure to edit every pause or wrinkle out of existence, this episode is a love letter to being real — because being real is what builds true connection. I’ll share stories from my own unmasking journey, my reflections post-autism and ADHD diagnosis, and why trying to “polish up” who we are is not only exhausting but entirely unnecessary.

Whether you’re filming stories, hosting a podcast, or speaking on stage, people want you. The less energy you waste on editing or pretending, the more you have to actually grow your business — on your terms.

You don’t need to be perfect to be powerful — just present.

85: #85 How to Build a Standout Brand and Be Unforgettable

Episode 85

jeudi 4 juillet 2024Duration 27:49

Let’s cut through the noise of instant success stories and focus on what really builds a sustainable, fulfilling business. In this episode, I’m talking about what it takes to go from being relatively unknown to becoming truly unforgettable — not through flashy tricks or overnight fame, but through quiet consistency, real connection, and a whole lot of staying power.

I’ll share my own journey, from running in-person social media workshops before Instagram was even a thing, to being introduced years later as “the go-to person” in my field (and how that felt surprisingly bittersweet). We’ll talk about how trust is built over time, how learning and evolving keeps you sharp, and how it’s possible to be unforgettable without being the loudest in the room.

Whether you’re just starting out or already well into your business journey, this is your reminder that you don’t need to hustle harder — you just need to keep showing up, doing what you say you’ll do, and staying true to the kind of business you actually want to run.

84: #84 Why Your Business Network is Crucial for Success

Episode 84

jeudi 27 juin 2024Duration 27:48

You don’t need a million followers — you need the right people in your corner. Here’s why your business (and your mindset) depends on who you spend your time with.

In this week’s episode of Life in Business, I’m talking about something that affects every single one of us — the people we surround ourselves with. Because whether you’re building a business or just trying to stay sane while working from home, who you spend time with makes all the difference.

I’ll take you through the journey of how my business (and life) changed when I joined the right community — and how being in the wrong rooms held me back. From the early days of networking lunches and lime-green branding to launching my Confidence to Grow program, I’ve learned that growth happens when you’re lifted by people who get it. The ones who energise you, challenge you, and make you want to reach higher.

We’ll talk about the loneliness of being a solo business owner, why post-COVID life has changed how we connect, and how to choose the communities and events that actually move your business forward — not drain you dry. If you’ve ever felt like you’re outgrowing your current circles or unsure where to find people who truly support you, this is the pep talk you need.
