Cypher Raige is the Prime Commander of the United Ranger Core, hero of humanity and the originator of Ghosting, a technique for suppressing emotions that allows one to become invisible to The Ursa, genetically modified monsters set loose upon the human colony of Nova Prime. His son, Kitai Raige, is a high performing and ambitious cadet, whose guilt about the death of his sister and his need to prove himself to his demanding and distant father keep him from achieving Ranger status. In an effort to bond, they board a ship to Cypher's last ever missing... until it crash lands on an inhabitable Earth: the first humans in 1000 years to walk its surface. Kitai must prove himself to his injured father, brave the surface of the hostile world, avoid or defeat the Ursa, and launch a beacon to their planet to await rescue.

After spending some time with the new dysfunctinoal family of Ging, Pariston and the other zodiaks, we meet up with the old dysfunctional family of assassins, the Zoldycks of Kukuroo Mountain where we learn that Killua has a secret cursed sister.

We've finally finished the mammoth Chimera Ant arc. It was long, ambitious, and fascinating. On the whole, I think it's some of the best TV ever made. After dozens and dozens of episodes of tension, Togashi and Madhouse pull out all the emotional stops, closing as many narrative loops as possible before introducing the next season: the election of a new Hunter Association chairman.

Well it wouldn't be an episode of the Chimera Ant arc if it wasn't full of the weirdest, wildest shit yet. And that's certainly true for this one. The quick rundown: The king is alive, Pouf and Youpi become mothers by feeding the king their own flesh to revive him (deeply sexual), everyone resolves to back Gon up against Pitou (potentially to their own death), Gon decides he's going to leave with Piout alone and that his buddies should take Komugi as a hostage, Pouf is making power plays to take advantage of the King's amnesia which is difficult because the three of them can kind of all read each other's minds now, Gon leads Pitou to Kite where they reveal that Kite cannot be helped, Gon doesn't like this.

Corrections: In this episode there's disagreement on how Komugi gets knocked out. Upon review, it's clear that Killua (intentionally?) knocker her out during Pouf attack
