Why Having Less Offers and Packages Will Increase Client Bookings - 11410 Sep 202400:26:44

If you have more than 3 offers for your services or packages that people can buy from you - that might be the reason you’re not booking as many clients or making as many sales as you think you should be - and the fact is you probably could be booking more by offering less.

This lesson might challenge previous learning about sales and marketing … but only because the “Less Offers Equals More Clients” strategy works magic when it comes to booking more clients and increasing sales.

When practice and business owners aren’t getting clients booking with them, they often try to fix this situation by adding more services and offers, thinking it will help them ensure they have “Something for Everyone!”  But the opposite tends to happen. Too many is too much for most potential clients; instead of signing them, you are scaring them away.

This lesson will help you understand why you want to rethink that strategy of having something for everyone and what to do instead.

Remember, the goal isn't to overwhelm potential clients; it's to entice them to want to work with you. So, let's start making your services irresistible - simple, clear, and exactly what clients want by following Kathy’s 5-step checklist to help you simplify your offers.

You’ll also learn how this change can do the same for you when Kathy shares how one of her clients used this strategy with her offers, and it worked so well that her client just wanted to know, “How do I sign up and do more work with you?”

Tune in and get ready to start booking more clients by offering them fewer options. It really is magical!

Expand Your Network and Your Impact with 100 Women Who Care - Ep 11303 Sep 202400:27:53

Networking Groups and Events … you either love ’em or hate ‘em… but the fact remains they can help your practice or business grow. They can be a great source of new opportunities and new business.

Networking is typically something people know they should do but don’t commit to as a regular marketing activity - especially when the networking groups in your area may not always fill your cup.

This is why one of the groups I attend is one that many folks do not always see as a networking group because its main purpose is not networking!

This week on the podcast, I spoke with Cheryl Cook, one of the co-chairs of the 100 Women Who Care Halifax Group, about what makes this group different than a typical networking group - especially since it is not even called that!

Hit the play button to listen in and learn more about the 100 Women Who Care groups - which are all over Canada and the US - and find out how they work, and the hidden benefits women in business can get from joining their 4 meetings each year - yes only 4 events a year!

Be sure to listen in - it will inspire you to rethink what opportunities for networking are out there - some of them may fill your cup  - and your client roster - more than you realize.

There are some resources mentioned and you can find them on the shownotes page at:  http://marketingyourprivatepractice.com/113

Why Most Practice Owners Don’t Have A Steady Flow Of Leads - Ep 1422 Nov 202200:33:45

Having an irresistible lead magnet isn't the magic button to getting people signing up and becoming leads on your email marketing list.

But, like other practice owners… you wonder why people aren’t signing up for your lead magnet?

That’s what Sarah J asked me when she reached out after the last episode. She wanted to know why the lead magnet she had for her practice wasn’t getting people signing up for it.

This is a common concern practice owners have and today we’re going to talk about one of the main reasons people aren’t signing up for your lead magnet.

It is something I find in about 40% of the marketing assessment sessions that I do but there are 3 things you can do to be certain you don’t make the same mistake.

Tune in to this episode to learn the secret to getting a steady flow of leads for your private practice

Lead Magnets are the path to new clients for every private practice or business owner.

Your lead generation system is what helps you get those new leads. And you will want to be bringing in new folks because no business can survive only on the leads you have today… that pool will eventually dry up.

This is a mistake practitioners often make, thinking because they are booked with clients, marketing doesn't matter.

But your booked schedule can change on a dime so making sure you have a steady flow of leads is important.

To get your lead generation system working there are several elements you need but the #1 element is that one thing that entices people to give you their information and become an official lead.

The thing to entice people is your lead magnet!

All businesses need leads because they are the path to sales and in your case - that means clients for your private practice.

Knowing the types of lead magnets you can use often helps you as you plan out that eye catching, client attracting lead magnet of your own.

The biggest issue most practice owners have with email marketing is you are always looking for ways to get more folks opening and reading your emails!

Marketing your Private Practice BEYOND Social Media. Ep 1101 Nov 202200:26:43

Some of my Thrive Marketing Academy members have been having some great success and results with their marketing and it’s all been related to a type of marketing that most practice and business owners forget to do.  Offline Referral Marketing.

Signing 3 new clients in one week, getting booked to do lunch and learns for 6 offices of a group medical practice - - these are some successes that practice owners are having from offline referral marketing… marketing beyond social media.

In today’s episode of Marketing your Private Practice, we cover this often forgotten or “never-gonna-do- it” type of marketing that can bring faster results when compared to the lure of Shiny Objects and Quick Fix Promises of social media.

It can be one of the most effective ways to bring in new clients and new business.

One of my most successful clients ever was a true believer in this, and her offline marketing combined with minimal online marketing – and that means marketing focused on blog content with newsletters and some social media – well, that combo resulted in skyrocketing her dietitian business into a very successful multi-practitioner company with 20+ employees and still growing.

Offline Referral Marketing can and does work. Today’s episode will give you ideas on how to get an Effective Offline Referral Marketing System into play for your practice and one that brings you an ROI! Return on your Time and Money Investment doing the offline marketing.

Listen in for all the details and be sure to check out the shownotes from this episode to get access to all the resources mentioned!  You will find them at https://marketingyourprivatepractice.com/11

Streamlining: The Path to Stop that Endless Cycle of Marketing. Ep 10 25 Oct 202200:28:08

Most practice owners tell me they feel like they can’t get out of that endless cycle of doing marketing to get clients and grow the practice.

And when it’s not working they do what so many try to fix it… more marketing… and then more and even more.

Some try to learn new ways of getting your marketing to work, so you try some new things … and holy crow, by the end of any given week, you are exhausted and discouraged cause none of it is working!

I’m exhausted just talking about it.

One of the best ways to get out of this endless cycle is to get a system in place with your marketing.

The worst thing you can do is create more and more marketing content trying to make something - anything stick.

In this episode, we are going to talk about the best path to streamline your marketing with a system so that you are no longer doing random marketing and trying anything and everything to see what sticks.

The system is all about streamlining your marketing in such a way that you’ll see how to create less content, but in a way you can do more with it and actually see results from your marketing …  the bonus!   You won’t spend nearly as much time  ‘doing marketing’ as you were before you learned about this system.

It’s part of the Thrive Marketing Method I teach, and it’s how practice owners can streamline their marketing to have more time to work ON your practice and with your clients…because that is the path to financial freedom with your practice, not doing more marketing that isn't working in the first place.

Listen in to learn 5 ways you can repurpose one main piece of content for marketing and turn it into enough for about 1-2 weeks of social media content - or more!  PLUS you will find the content all has a goal and purpose - it is not just random content posted to have content on social media.

Get ready to learn how to streamline your marketing!

Optimize This One Website Page And Boost Client Signups For Your Practice. Ep 918 Oct 202200:35:29

If you are like a lot of practice owners you are probably overlooking the importance of the ONE page on your website that can get you new clients. Which means more sales and growth for your practice.

Today we are going to dive into the most important page on your website and how to optimize it to get more leads and more clients.

When you started your practice, like most business owners, you were probably told to get a website up, so you did.  And you probably got some of the main pages that are needed…. I always tell folks to have at least these 4 pages - Your Home, About, Services and Contact page.

And then business gets going and takes off… and you get busy. So you neglect your website - which is one of your most important marketing foundations - so neglecting it is not a great idea!   When you forget about your website - and in particular one specific page on your site, it can mean missing out on new clients, more sales and growth with your practice.

The one page people never think to review or update is … your contact page.

Yep - this is the most important page on your website because it is the conduit to reaching you!  To make contact with you --- and when someone fills out the form on the page - they want YOU and they want your help - for one reason or another.

And like so many folks out there - the importance of this page is undervalued and under appreciated. It does most of the heavy lifting on your website.

Your contact page is the conduit to conversions on your website, taking people who visit your website and turning them from being a website visitor into a lead or even a client!

That is why we want you to get your contact page optimized and working at its best - so MORE people can reach you and go from being someone who just visited your website and convert them into a lead and even clients!

Listen in as we cover the 10 ways you can optimize your contact page to boost signups and clients for your private practice!

Does your Messaging Move People to Action with your Practice? EP 811 Oct 202200:30:42

If folks don’t understand your messaging… the marketing for your practice could be falling as flat as a souffle that drops when you take it out of the oven. Now, souffles are supposed to do that, but your marketing, especially your marketing messages, should not!

Messaging is a key component when marketing your private practice… Yet often practice owners stumble on having a clear message that people understand.

This can be a challenge to get that clarity, whether the messaging happens, online in text, or in video or audio, via email, on social media or even in person talking to someone or groups of someones!

No matter what medium your messaging happens in or on, there is one thing it will need in all situations… clarity.

Simple, clear messaging will move people to take action…to have them booking a consultation, downloading a lead magnet, sending you a DM, signing up for a program or even referring someone to you because they know you can help them.

Messaging Clarity is critical  -- you never want to leave people wondering what services your practice offers or what you do to help your clients.

In this episode of Marketing your Private Practice with Kathy C, you will learn the three areas of messaging that help you build that clarity AND you will learn about a special messaging cheat sheet that helps to save time with your marketing too.

3 Things to do BEFORE going to any Event or Conference - Ep 10325 Jun 202400:27:54

Your actions BEFORE, AT and  AFTER an event or conference will make or break the ROI you experience.

One of the first-ever conferences I attended as a business owner - and paying my own way - airfare, hotel, conference dues, meals… everything… has seen a Return on that Investment (ROI)  that continues to this day!  I’ve tracked over $775,000 in revenue to that event and it continues to grow every year.

Events can help you grow as a person AND as a business too. And to be clear… ROI is not always about money either.  The people you meet and the skills you learn - can play a factor in your ROI from any event. They did with mine.

One thing I have learned about events and conferences… is that you should never just SHOW UP at an event or conference - whether you are attending as a participant, speaker or even having a booth as a sponsor or exhibitor.

There are specific things you can do to ensure you get as much ROI as possible. I teach my Academy members to do these as well because they help boost the ROI from your time, money and energy invested into events.  Some have had phenomenal results. Some didn’t even realize they were having results til we analyzed what happened.

Be sure to hit play and listen in to learn the 3  key things you should do to ensure your time and money are well spent. These steps will help you get the most out of your time at events and conferences and bring real benefits to your business.

5 Steps to a Backup-Disaster Plan that may SAVE your Practice one day. Ep 704 Oct 202200:32:48

What would happen with your private practice if you had an accident today and ended up in Intensive care in the hospital unable to speak or do anything…

What happens to the clients who are on your calendar for tomorrow? How would they even know anything has happened to you?

Would anyone have clear instructions on what to do to help you and your practice?

If not, then you need a backup – disaster plan for your practice, because one day – if it’s ever needed – that plan could save your practice from closure!

The unexpected can happen any time and few practice owners are ready for that moment an accident happens that takes you out of commission. I wasn’t either …well, at least not until the day I fired someone on my team who was in the ICU.

But now, having had that experience, I am ready… and you need to be as well - so that when the unexpected does happen you are ready to deal with it – even if you are incapacitated.

This episode of Marketing your Private Practice shares why having a backup-disaster plan is critical to the longevity of your practice and how to plan for disasters… even small ones because they can have big effects on your practice.

7 Steps to Website Content for your Private Practice that Google will LOVE! Ep 627 Sep 202200:18:18

Every Private Practice Owner wants Google to show their website to people searching online. You want website traffic that leads to more clients, and having search engines send them to your website is ideal.

But a recent Google update within their search engine systems could affect your website - especially if you are using tools like Artificial Intelligence to help create your content for you. This kind of content could become a real problem with this update from Google which is called the Helpful Content Update.

Google has recently shared some info after the update started rolling out in August of 2022 and they make it clear what business owners need to consider when it comes to their website and marketing content.

If your website has what they determine as “unhelpful content” it is “less likely” to perform well in an online search with Google.

Listen to this episode and get the scoop and details about this change - details  that even a non-techy person can understand - and learn the 7 DOs and DON’Ts to follow when it comes to publishing content on the website for your private practice.

2 Sales Tactics to Expand your Private Practice without feeling Salesy! Ep 413 Sep 202200:24:29

You cannot be afraid of asking for the business when it comes to marketing your private practice.  To do this means including Calls to Action in your marketing content - your website, blogs, social media and yes, even when talking to people!

Private Practice Owners are healers which tends to mean you want to avoid sales and marketing … but if you do, you put your practice at risk. Like every business, you will need to do both sales and marketing in order to grow your practice and get clients.

Yet, most practitioners are not using Calls to Action (CTAs) as effectively as they could be. And if you are not using them wisely in your marketing, you could be losing sales. Yes… they are that important.

In this episode, we cover the two types of CTAs (Calls to Action) you want to use so that you are asking for the business in your marketing and how to do it without feeling salesy or icky!

You will learn what a CTAs is and why we use them in marketing as well as where to use them and some examples too!

Using CTAs effectively can shift the numbers in your marketing – numbers that are all about getting more leads and more clients.

Get ALL the details on CTAs and how to use these sales tactics when marketing your private practice … without coming across as salesy!

Foundations for Marketing Success with a Private Practice - Ep 317 Aug 202200:25:18

Want to know the secret to getting more clients by doing less marketing for your private practice?

Here’s the deal. You need to know this dream life we speak of… it is possible but you’ve got to get back to the basics and stop chasing the FAD marketing plans out there.

If you’ve found yourself saying things like, “I just want to work with clients… I don’t want to be doing marketing all day…” Then this episode is for you!

These are statements I have heard time and time again from the hundreds of practice owners I’ve worked with over the past 14 years.

And many of them - well, the ones who did listen to me - they do get to that place where they found themselves  creating less marketing, spending less time on it, and getting more results.

Now, you’re probably wondering… What did they do?

Then listen to this episode of Marketing your Private Practice as we explore 5 marketing foundations that have helped other practitioners achieve some of their goals like: launching a new group nutrition program and filling it within 3 weeks, getting emails every day to ask for a consult, booking an average of one new client a day for a group practice… the list goes on. And FYI… these practice owners do not spend all of their marketing time on social media. Their foundations make it possible!

In this Marketing Review, Kathy C talks with Elizabeth Pinkerton of Pinkerton Coaching, who wanted to figure out - why people visiting her website were not taking action. She’s getting traffic, but no one is doing anything but browsing and leaving.

It’s a common problem private practice and service providers have…. Solving it means ensuring that people visiting your website “get the right message” and connect with it!

They need to feel that you understand their problems and can help them. That’s what leads to them taking the next step - booking a consult or emailing you from your contact form. The first steps to booking new clients.

After reviewing her home page and the content and messaging, Kathy had some very specific steps for Elizabeth to take. She was missing the mark in several areas, which meant people visiting didn’t really understand what she was offering, how she could help them… and even who she was!!!

Be sure to listen in to learn more about:

  • Ways to get SPECIFIC with your website content and messaging to create a connection with visitors
  • How to put the YOU in your website so they know they can TRUST you
  • Strategies for STRONG Calls to Action so people are looking for the button to click and book with you versus the exit button

These lessons shared with Elizabeth are all about making sure you create marketing content and have a message that hits home with your ideal clients. When it’s on the mark, they will be searching for that book-a-call button!

Marketing your Services to Two Ideal Clients: Review with Mackenzie Costron - Ep 9216 Apr 202400:37:21

What do you do when your services have two types of ideal clients?

Many practices and business owners struggle with effectively marketing the same offer to people who have different problems. Mackenzie Costron came to me for a free Marketing review with this very roadblock in her coaching business.

She wanted to know, “How do I focus my marketing to offer the workshops to both individuals and organizations?” Her confusion comes from how she creates a PDF or marketing content about the workshops to share with people or market to these two different client types.

To help Mackenzie get more results from marketing her two workshops to two different ideal clients, we focused on 3 main areas:

  • Tailor the Marketing Messages to the client type and their specific problems.
  • Simplify the Process to get started by booking a discovery call.
  • Strategic Outreach & Networking to have multiple touchpoints online and offline.

Listen in to learn the specific advice I offered Mackenzie to help her clarify her messaging so that the marketing she is doing; on her website, through marketing assets she creates and even networking online or in person is reaching the right people to build interest in the workshops and get people signing up.

The strategies shared with her are very applicable to any business that offers some variation in the services it offers, especially when your offer helps different types of clients.

You can access the resources mentioned on the show notes page at http://marketingyourprivatepractice.com/92

How to Create a System to Effectively Use Testimonials in Your Marketing - Ep 9109 Apr 202400:31:46

Getting testimonials from clients is great. It makes you feel good that you made a difference and an impact on your clients. But many practitioners and service providers overlook actually using those testimonials - the most powerful type of marketing content there is - in their marketing.

This happens because their business plans lack a system for collecting and using testimonials in marketing - critical content that builds trust and encourages potential clients to take the next step. Testimonials are the voices of happy clients, and in their own words, you’ve got to be doing more than putting them on a page on your website.

Here's what you'll learn by tuning in to this episode:

  • The value of spontaneous and “in-the-moment” testimonials and ideas for using them in your marketing.
  • Ways to be more consistent with gathering and using testimonials in your marketing and keeping it fresh and relevant.
  • 5 Tedsp to create your own system to request, collect, and use testimonials in your marketing; content that converts to clients!

Remember, your clients' experiences and words are like a secret sales team, working tirelessly to tell others how great you are to work with! Don't let this valuable content slip through the cracks. Get ready to create a system that puts testimonials to work for your practice or business.

5 Ways to Get Your Website Up and Running Fast & Easy - Ep 87 12 Mar 202400:43:14

Websites are an essential tool for private practice owners and service-based businesses, but many cannot get past the fear and tech challenges in getting their website up and running.

In this episode, Kathy C talks with long-time friend and mentor Tawnya Sutherland about the many mistakes people make when starting a website and how the best path is simplicity. And how getting a website up can be done a lot easier than most realize.

Your website doesn’t need to be complicated or 1000% perfect, but it does need to be live and working! There are options to get them up and running that won’t break the bank—or your sanity—when you struggle to set it up yourself.

Your website is always a work in progress, and it's more important to have a functional online presence than to wait for a perfect site. Tawnya offers many tips to do and not do, along with a solution she has with template website designs specifically for service providers. Designs that can be customized with the business's branding, allowing for a quick and efficient setup.

They also talk about some of the technical aspects of website management, such as the importance of keeping plugins and themes updated to prevent security breaches.

Your website is the foundation of all online marketing efforts. Without it, marketing strategies may fall short, but the main plan is to get that website up and running so it starts working now and can grow with you as you grow too!

Giving up is not the answer… The fear of not having anything worthwhile to say, mixed with a lack of strategic planning, can easily leave you feeling stuck and overwhelmed.

It all starts with….  The topic of this episode today, using a tool that helps with your marketing planning and helps you overcome these 3 blocks! A Content Planner.

STOP! Don’t quit here… Please do NOT dismiss this as something that will not help you. Have an open mind and check out how a planner with some specific elements in it (12 in fact) can help you, It’s something I’ve helped people use for the past 15 years, and it does change everything!
