Starting Over at Midlife: Michele’s Journey Through Weight Loss & Divorce
Wednesday, September 23, 2026 • Duration 30:32
In this deeply personal episode of LoveLustRaw, Michele opens up about the moments that changed her life, and the women who helped remind her that starting over is possible.
Michele takes us from a hilarious and wildly awkward restaurant encounter into the much more vulnerable story behind her transformation. She reflects on once weighing nearly 300 pounds, undergoing gastric sleeve surgery, using Zepbound, and later having a 360 tummy tuck and inner thigh lift. Her transformation also involved two knee replacements, an ankle replacement, and three cervical fusions which allowed her to leave the sidelines and finally get back into the game of life. Along the way, Michele discovered that losing weight didn't automatically mean loving the woman in the mirror. Michele talks candidly about body dysmorphia, weight-loss plateaus, changing confidence, and the reality of “skinny privilege.”
Then comes the harder story: after 22 years of marriage, Michele made the decision to leave in March 2024. She shares what escalating conflict, emotional strain, and controlling behavior felt like, and how the stress affected her physical health, including severe anemia and dangerously high blood pressure.
Leaving wasn't the end of the story. It was the beginning of Michele finding herself again.
She talks about rebuilding her health, rediscovering confidence, finding laughter and joy, and learning to give herself grace for the choices she made while simply trying to survive.
Michele also pays tribute to a few of the women who inspired her. The most important influence came from her mother, Margo, whose strength shaped Michele from an early age and showed her how to survive anything life throws your way. To her mother Michele says “Thank You.”
Michele also discusses more recent women that have been inspirations on her rebuilding journey post divorce. Women like Mackenzie Fultz aka Freedom Barbie, whose public journey and physical transformation have inspired her, and Brett Butler, a pioneering female comedian whose story and resilience have made an indelible mark on Michele’s journey of rebuilding, rediscovering, and finding joy again.

In this episode of LoveLustLaw, Michele Locke sits down with Mitchell Osmond of Dad Nation for a powerful conversation about marriage, personal transformation, emotional connection, and intimacy.
Mitchell shares how losing a senior leadership role sent him into a difficult season of depression, weight gain, debt, and substance use. After a major fight with his wife—and a powerful question at a funeral, “Are you living a life worthy of imitation?”—he began an 18-month journey that included losing 60 pounds, paying off $100,000 in debt, getting sober, and rebuilding his marriage.

What happens when 11 jurors reportedly believe a defendant is not guilty by reason of insanity, while one juror refuses to agree?
In this episode of LoveLustLaw, Attorney Michele Locke takes a closer look at the Lindsay Clancy trial and the legal and human questions left behind by a hung jury.
Michele brings a unique perspective shaped by experience as a criminal defense attorney, magistrate, criminal jury foreman, and 22 years married to a highly regarded prosecutor who handled capital murder cases.
She breaks down the insanity defense, reasonable doubt, jury deliberations, juror questions, and the Allen charge, while examining what the reported 11–1 split can - and cannot - tell us about the case. She also discusses the father's emotional 911 call and why the judge's decision to restrict its public release matters.
But beyond the courtroom lies an even harder question: What does justice look like when severe mental illness, postpartum mental health, and an unimaginable crime collide?
After a hung jury, is a retrial the right path - or does justice require something more?
This is not just a conversation about a verdict. It’s a conversation about accountability, mental health, compassion, and what justice really means.

P*rn, Power & Perception: Censorship, Double Standards & the Fight to Be Heard feat. Ryan Keely
Monday, August 24, 2026 • Duration 01:16:39
What happens when SW collides with censorship, financial restrictions, and deeply rooted social stigma? In this compelling episode of LoveLustLaw, attorney Michele Locke sits down with media personality, writer, and adult performer Ryan Keely for a candid conversation about the realities of working in today’s adult industry, and the systems that continue to shape who gets heard, paid, and protected.
Ryan reflects on her evolution in the industry, from the pre-social-media era to today’s highly regulated digital landscape, where platform restrictions, payment policies, and censorship can make earning a living increasingly difficult. Together, Michele and Ryan unpack the double standards faced by SWers and question why adult creators are often denied opportunities routinely available to other online creators.
The conversation also examines the growing influence of financial institutions and policies that restrict adult content, the unintended consequences of censorship, and the ways these measures can push SWers into more vulnerable circumstances.
Beyond the industry itself, Michele and Ryan challenge common assumptions about pornography and relationships, including the notion that consuming p*rn*graphy is inherently a form of infidelity, a particularly consequential issue in high-conflict divorces and family law disputes.

When Dating Hurts: Dating Violence, Coercive Control & Relationship Red Flags | Bill Mitchell
Monday, August 17, 2026 • Duration 01:16:07
How can we recognize the warning signs of dating violence, coercive control, emotional abuse, and dangerous relationship patterns before it’s too late?
In this powerful episode of lovelustlaw, Michele Locke sits down with Bill Mitchell, author and host of the When Dating Hurts podcast, to explore the hidden realities of intimate partner violence and the warning signs that are often missed.
Bill’s mission began after the devastating murder of his 21-year-old daughter, Kristin, who was killed by her boyfriend in 2005 shortly after graduating from college. Bill shares Kristin’s story, the impact of her killer’s ongoing parole hearings on their family, and how unimaginable loss became a mission to educate others about dating violence and relationship abuse.
They discuss why abuse is hidden behind shame, isolation, and the appearance of a loving relationship and why there doesn’t have to be bruises for abuse to occur.
The conversation also explores relationship red flags, emotional abuse, strangulation, digital stalking, evidence collection, self-esteem and vulnerability, safely leaving an abusive relationship, healthy boundaries, and how parents can talk to their children about dating violence.
Bill outlines a common five-step “template” of abuse - fairy tale romance, isolation, threats, violence, and a convincing apology - repeating in cycles. They also discuss why victims may minimize what happened, why leaving an abusive relationship can be complicated and dangerous, and how friends, family members, educators, and communities can provide support without judgment.
Most importantly, this episode is about prevention: teaching young people what healthy relationships look like, recognizing red flags early, and knowing when control has crossed the line into abuse.
