We highly recommend checking this one out on YouTube because Da Land Brass Band absolutely lit up AJ Rocco’s during this live recording. They’ve got the spirit of a brass band mixed with a gritty Cleveland sound, and they’re out here asking, the real question: Can you dig it?

Happy, happy Sunday! We are really in the thicket of summer now, y'all. We invited our friends Rent For Cheryl to the LG Studio to catch up since our first interview with them back in 2021 on the LoCLE Grown Marathon on 88.3 The Sting.

Rent for Cheryl is a passionate band with members who have diverse musical styles, and when they come together on stage, they bless your ears with a fusion of jazz, rock, blues, pop - whatever the vibe calls for - they match and exceed. In this episode, we get a very rare acoustic performance from them at the end, but not before we discuss writing songs vs free styling, the amazing Rialto theatre, and the indisputable fact that DRAGONFLY IS AN OXYMORON???

From Akron, OH, Rent for Cheryl has been migrating more into the Cleveland sector with an upcoming performance next month at The Beachland Ballroom and will be releasing three singles leading up to this show at the end of August.

This one hit closer to home than usual for us as we have all seen each other grow our passions (one might even say...LoCLE Grown), and it was an absolute honor to be able to sit at the table again and not only talk music but hear what they have been cooking up lately.

Happy Father's Day! Coincidentally, on Mother's Day weekend last month, we switched it up by catching a chat with Kind Of Consistent founder, Riley Furey. Kind of Consistent (KOC) is an organization based in Cleveland that started as a source to share great music and deep cuts but over the past year has grown into a music blog, merchandise and production company not only for Cleveland musicians but also bands outside of the state.

Riley gave us insight into the KOC brand and who has inspired him to take this dream to the next level. We also discuss Laurel Live vs Wonderstruck, and of course had to highlight some of his top picks when it comes to Cleveland musicians and why (peep Episode 24 with Jack Harris btw). As LoCLE Grown, we really resonate with the KOC brand as both of us are all about providing a platform and resources for artists who are still finding their voice. While KOC has many facets, Riley is at the point where he is "calibrating the perfect storm" and musicians anywhere can utilize him for promotion, events, production and merch so HIT HIM UP. But also, make sure to gently shame him for not knowing "Where's the Chaptstick"...
