Nick Castellanos saw Grant Holmes for the second time in this series with a lead in reach, and for the second time, Casty put the Phillies in front for good. The Phillies right fielder walked it off in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Phillies a 3-2 victory as well as a 3-games-to-1 series win over the Atlanta Braves!  

Aaron Nola started for the Phillies and was dealing early before surrendering a solo homer to Michael Harris II in the 3rd inning, then giving up another run as part of a 31-pitch 4th inning. More than anything, Nola limiting the damage the way he did in the 4th spoke volumes about his grit!  

Nola gave way to a bullpen that tossed 5 scoreless innings.

The offense was ALL courtesy of Nick Castellanos. He tied the game with a 2-out, 2-run double in the 6th, that took Aaron Nola off the hook, before coming up with the walk off single in the 11th.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Astros found themselves tied at 2 at the end of the 9th inning, so fans in South Philly were treated to a little FREE BASEBALL! After Matt Strahm was backed up by some great defense from Bryce Harper and defensive replacement Johan Rojas in center field, they went to the bottom of the 10th still knotted up. That’s when Harper smacked a walk off RBI single to right field to help get the Phillies past the Astros 3-2 in 10!  

Zack Wheeler started for the Phillies and battled through 6 innings. The 34-year-old gave needed 79 pitches to get through his first 4 innings, before settling in for the 5th and 6th. His only big blemish on the night was a 2-run double by Shay Whitcomb in the 4th.  

The Phillies bats too Wheeler off the hook with a solo homer by Brandon Marsh in the 5th, his 13th of the season and an RBI single by Nick Castellanos in the 5th that knotted up the score at 2.

The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tigers 6-2 Wednesday afternoon thanks in large part to a career day from Brandon Marsh and a bullpen that dominated for 6 innings! 

Brandon Marsh went 4-for-4 on the day with 4 RBIs while also smacking his 7th homer of the season. Marsh’s longball was a 2-run home run in the 4th inning that came after Bryson Stott worked a leadoff walk. It gave the Phillies a 3-1 lead. Then in the 5th inning, Marsh delivered again, this time with a 2-out single to center field. 

The two other Phils’ runs came on a Nick Castellanos RBI ground out with the bases loaded in the 1st and David Dahl Sac Fly RBI in the 8th. 

Spencer Turnbull was making his first start for the Phillies since April and tossed 3 inning of 1 run baseball. He was done after just 36 pitches with what the Phillies are calling Shoulder Soreness. The goal was to get him to 70pitches today.
