We're rapidly approaching the end of Series Four of Life In The Stocks, at which point the podcast will be going on hiatus. I hope you've enjoyed this recent run of guests and conversations. The main thing that strikes me as I prepare to take a break from the show - and as I look back on all the people I've been lucky enough to interview over the years - is all the wonderful friendships and connections that I've made along the way. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of the journey.

Mike Squires is someone I first met 12 years ago whilst working at Kerrang! Radio, when he was out on the road with Duff McKagan. Whit Crane was also there that day, and as well still playing with Duff, Mike now also plays with Ugly Kid Joe. That's a perfect metaphor for the symbiotic nature of this business. When it's good it's great - there's nothing quite like it. And it all seems to come full circle eventually. I know Mike can attest to that. Kelly LeMieux from Goldfinger and Buckcherry is my guest for Episode 346 of Life In The Stocks. Kelly is one of the most enthusiastic and stoked people I've met through music. His positive energy is infectious and he's got a great attitude towards both life and the business. We get into the full scope of it here, from the early days of the Electric Love Hogs with John Feldmann to his longstanding friendships and relationships with Feldy, Charlie and Darrin from Goldfinger. Having now had all those guys on the podcast, I'd love to see them all bury the hatchet and play together again. We shall see. Thanks to Kelly for a great talk: this episode offers all kinds of interesting insights into the LA music scene from the 1980s to the present day.

Sam McTrusty from Twin Atlantic is my guest for Episode 337 of Life In The Stocks.

I was one of the first people in the world to play Twin Atlantic on the radio back in the Kerrang! days, and I was a big champion of the band in the lead up to the release of their second album, Free. But I've not really seen or spoken to Sam since that time, so it was a genuine pleasure to jump on the mics and catch up on the last decade of our lives.

We talk line-up and record label changes, and the past, present and future of Twin Atlantic, including the band's forthcoming album Meltdown, which for my money is the best thing they've done since Free. It comes out in August and it's probably the band's definitive musical statement to date. You heard it here first.

Welcome to the first podcast of 2022, and Episode 247 in total. My first guest of the year is Jim Lindberg from Pennywise who joins me to discuss a wide range of topics from the formation of Pennywise in Hermosa Beach and the local punk scene in that area, which gave the world bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks & Descendents, to parenthood and his relationship with his father, The Other F Word documentary, Jim's new solo album, Songs From The Elkhorn Trail, Epitaph Records, coming up alongside bands like Rancid & The Offspring, his decision to leave Pennywise in 2010, and a whole lot more. It was a great chat - Jim is a lovely dude and a brilliant songwriter.

Welcome to the last Life In The Stocks episode of the 2021 with Rob "Blasko" Nicholson from Ozzy Osbourne's band & Zakk Sabbath. Blasko is also a music manager who looks after the likes of Clutch and Black Label Society, and he's previously played in Prong, Danzig, and Rob Zombie's band. We had a great talk about passion, ambition, drive, tenacity, humility, positivity, and his time working in/on all the aforementioned bands and projects. I'm still in the process of moving house at the moment, and all of my equipment is in boxes, so I'm going to take the rest of this year off to unpack my life, enjoy Christmas, and prepare for 2022. Something a little bit different this week...I don't feature as many industry / behind the scenes guests as I'd like to on Life In The Stocks, but I always enjoy talking to them when I do, especially when they happen to be a close personal friend of mine, like this week's guest, Ben Ray from Slam Dunk. Slam Dunk is, for my money, the best alternative festival in the UK. It caters to everyone. And Ben's grown in from a ska punk club night in Leeds to one of the most successful festivals in the country.
