Mini-Pod: Bridging Yoga and Real Estate Through Authentic Personal Branding18 Jul 202400:04:14

Today, I'm bringing you a super quick but power-packed mini pod all about personal branding, inspired by my recent meeting with two fantastic yoga teachers.

What do yoga teachers and real estate pros have in common? Both are trusted advisors who create safe, transformative spaces for their clients. The trust built in the yoga studio can easily extend to other significant life events—like buying or selling a home. Creating trust and comfort with clients to guide them through yoga and make the practice positive and meaningful, is exactly what clients want when they are buying and selling a house, right?

The takeaway? Infuse your brand with your passion! Your personal brand is all about YOU—your reputation, your vibe, and how you make people feel. When you weave your passions into your business, you create authentic connections and attract your dream clients.

Royal Rebrand: What Kate Middleton Teaches Us About Authentic Marketing15 Mar 202400:09:38

Welcome to our first KLT Mini-Pod! These mini-pods are meant to be short, sweet, and full of actionable insights you can apply immediately to your real estate business.

In this mini-pod, Carrie and I dive into a lively discussion about the importance of authenticity and consistency in personal branding. Our chat, sparked by Kate Middleton's recent faux pas and doctored photo, really hit home for us as real estate marketers. It got us thinking about the real essence of branding, which isn't just about your logo but your entire public persona—your reputation.

Here's what we want you to take away:

  • Authenticity is vital: Showing your true self, flaws and all, resonates more than trying to appear perfect.
  • Stay consistent: Mixing messages or visuals can confuse your audience - and confusion doesn't sell. A clear and consistent brand builds trust.
  • Rely on professionals: Outsourcing experts can make a huge difference. Focus on your strengths and let the specialists handle the rest.

Focusing on your strengths and leaving the rest to those who do it best has immense power.

Leveraging Real Estate Data Analytics with Expert Diana Zaya07 Mar 202400:36:41

In real estate, one year without a sale can feel like an eternity. But for Diana Zaya, that tough year was a turning point. She leaned into data to help guide her path forward. She went on to close four million in sales the following year, which was a lot 25 years ago. It was at this point that Diana's love of data began.

Now leading Maverick Systems, Diana equips real estate brokerages with the tools to boost agent performance and retention and attract agents who fit into the organization's model and culture. The secret is understanding the metrics, deciphering the trends, and using them to carve out a competitive edge.

For those of you thinking, "Data, metrics, trends... that's not my language," you're not alone. I'll be the first to admit that data analysis isn't my strength. But here's the thing: it doesn't have to be. Diana has this way of translating data into actionable insights that even analytical minds can get behind. She's got a knack for narrowing in on the metrics that get to the root of any problem—or opportunity.

Diana believes that pinpointing the problem is half the battle. Once you've got that down, the path to resolution becomes a whole lot clearer. In this episode, Diana walks you through understanding customer personas and tailoring strategies to win new listings.
So whether you're a Broker/Owner, seasoned agent, or just dipping your toes into the real estate market, tune in. Diana's insights might just transform how you look at your business—and your bottom line.

Planning for Profitable Retirement in Real Estate with Nancy Robinson22 Feb 202400:39:35

Today, we're diving into a topic that, let's be honest, doesn't get the spotlight it deserves – retiring from real estate without leaving money on the table or feeling lost.

Our special guest is Nancy Robinson, the VP of Sales at Christie's International Real Estate - Sereno in Northern, CA.

Nancy is uber passionate when it comes to preparing agents for a smooth and profitable retirement.

According to the National Association of REALTORS, the average age of a REALTOR is 57 and more than 65% of REALTORS are over age 50.

The reality is that many of these agents are hitting retirement age unprepared. Many agents find themselves at a crossroads, financially strapped or emotionally unready to step back, despite knowing it's time.

In this episode, Nancy addresses these head-on with practical steps like setting up a SEP IRA with automatic savings, keeping tabs on your source of business, marketing consistently to your SOI, and the importance of finding a mentor or coach. Plus, she talks about building a trustworthy alliance to pass the torch smoothly.

If you're a real estate agent or Broker/Owner or Manager who supports real estate agents, tune in and connect with Nancy.

Intentional Real Estate Business Planning with Martha Melendez14 Dec 202300:34:30

Martha Melendez is REALTOR and the VP of Talent Acquistion with Engle and Volkers Aspire Group on the Florida Space Coast.

Martha is not your average REALTOR. She's a woman on a mission to make her dreams a reality, and she does so by being intentional. Martha's formula for achieving success looks like this:

  1. Write your vision down and review it every day. In Martha's case, she creates a vision board each year. Utilizing images, words and photography, she visualizes her goals and dreams for the coming year.

  2. Follow the 20/20/20 Rule.  Each day consume 20 minutes of something motivational, spend 20 minutes getting your house in order and invest 20 minutes in movement.

  3. Implement a daily ritual. Creating habits and time blocking are key to ensuring your vision becomes a reality.

Authenticity in Video Marketing for Real Estate with Katie Lance & Stephanie Chumbley30 Nov 202300:27:59
In a refreshing twist, this week's episode of our podcast takes an exciting turn - and I'm confident you're going to love it! We're thrilled to present a podcast swap with the incredibly talented Katie Lance.   I'm sharing one of my top picks from Katie's podcast collection. In this episode, she has a conversation with Stephanie Chumbley, the Director of Social Media and Education at Chicago Title in Portland, OR.   Stephanie offers invaluable insights, particularly about content creation and mastering the art of time blocking. Here are my favorite pearls:
  1. Harness the Power of Listening: Transform your listening skills into a content generation tool. Keep track of daily occurrences, note the questions you're asked, and weave these elements into your social media content.
  2. Use Movement for Focus: Integrate movement into your routine. It's not just about physical health; it's a strategy to enhance grounding and focus, ultimately leading to more efficient time management.
  3. Embrace Imperfection in Videos: Don't shy away from mistakes in your video content. Perfection isn't the goal; relatability is. Remember, being genuine and approachable resonates more than flawless execution.

Breast Cancer Awareness: Stories of Strength and Resilience19 Oct 202300:37:25
This is an episode that's near and dear to my heart. It's breast cancer awareness month.   For those who don't know, I'm a breast cancer survivor. In honor of raising breast cancer awareness, we've invited Jenna Russo to join us. Jenna is also a breast cancer survivor and happens to be the stepdaughter of our friend, Betti Russo.   Jenna was diagnosed with Stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer as a young mom. Her son, Nicholas, was just six months old when she was diagnosed.   Jenna talks about her treatment, recovery, and life after breast cancer. Jenna's pearls of wisdom?
  1. Advocate for yourself. No one knows your body better than you! Don't let anyone tell you you're fine. If you feel something, get it checked out.
  2. If you do get a diagnosis, take someone to all your appointments. It helps to have someone else go through it with you.
  3. Get your mammogram. Early detection saves lives.

The Art of Listening and Operating with Integrity in Real Estate with Diane Terry15 Jun 202300:38:11
After 30+ years as a real estate professional, Diane Terry knows more than simply how to sell a home. She's learned to let go of perfection and accept that she may not be everyone's cup of tea. She's a tell-it-like-it-is, ain't got time for the pain type - and she's not afraid to throw down an f-bomb if it feels right.           Diane is known among her peers as the Sage because of her wealth of knowledge, thoughtfulness, and 'get it done' approach, which landed her in the natural position of teacher and mentor.   Diane's approach is different than your average real estate agent's. Diane is thoughtful and curious. She believes most people listen to respond instead of listening to understand.   In this conversation, we talked about the art of listening and what it means to do business with integrity and an open heart.   Diane's advice:
  1. Understand the importance of listening in work and life. It will change the quality of your relationships.
  2. Never lose your sense of awe and curiosity.
  3. Live your life with integrity. May you start your day with intention and end it with gratitude.

Empowering Women in Real Estate through Connection and Curiosity with Cathy Scharetg01 Jun 202301:01:23
Our series on WomanUP! comes to a close this week with an insightful conversation with Cathy Scharetg.   Cathy is empowering women through connection and curiosity. She is on a mission to empower courageously confident women who choose to influence outcomes and create opportunities by speaking themselves into the room.   My biggest takeaways from our conversation:
  1. Ask questions. "People who ask the most questions influence outcomes." Speak yourselves into the room because you ARE worthy and your ideas matter.
  2. Lead by example. If you want to change the narrative and open more doors for the next generation of women, you must go out into the world as you are, without self-imposed limitations.
  3. Honor each other. When you receive validation or accolades, don't diminish yourself by saying, "Yeah but.." just because you think it's more socially acceptable. Instead embrace it and confidently say, Thank you.

The Power of Pause with Betti and Christine09 Mar 202300:24:53

What is the power of pause, why is it important, and what does it have to do with selling real estate?

The power of the pause is an effective strategy for so many things. Pausing allows you to step back from the situation, gain awareness of your emotions and make different choices. When you take a moment to pause, you are, in effect, giving yourself the grace to act rather than react.

Not only can it be a helpful relationship-building tool with family and friends, but it can also also be a powerful tool in business. Pausing in the middle of a negotiation allows you to regain control of the situation.

In this episode, Betti's back, and she shares her strategies for pausing and how it helps her life and work.

Her top 3 takeaways:

  1. Be intentional with your time - you cannot be all things to all people, and you don’t need to be. Zero in on what’s most important.
  2. Take some time to figure it out - you cannot look deep within if you are constantly on the run. Tell yourself it’s ok to take a break, schedule the time if you need to, and do it.
  3. Be ok with it - don’t feel guilty for getting rid of what no longer serves you. Not everything and everyone is meant to be in your life forever. They’re there for a reason- they bring you to what comes next. Change is good.
