In today’s episode of the podcast, It's Not You, It’s PCOS! Nick and I bust some common myths that are associated with being diagnosed with PCOS.
We will also cover how is PCOS diagnosed and what you need to know.
If you were you told when you were first diagnosed with PCOS that you may struggle to conceive or to just lose weight?
You are not alone. Unfortunately, this is the experience of many women receiving a PCOS diagnosis.
Here is what we wish you were told instead…
- You can get pregnant naturally
- The oral contraceptive pill (OCP) isn’t your only option and shouldn’t have been your first either
- Nutrition and lifestyle change can make a HUGE difference to the severity of PCOS symptoms and your risk of diabetes and gestational diabetes
- A PCOS dietitian can improve insulin resistance by tweaking your diet to suit your unique dietary needs
- The guidelines state that all women should receive individual diet and lifestyle advice that is TAILORED – a pcos dietitian has the skills to do just that!
