Die Film- und Kulturbranche steht vor einem Wandel: Initiativen wie Green Filmmaking, der verstärkte Fokus auf Diversität in der Besetzung vor und hinter der Kamera sowie die Forderungen nach einem zeitgemäßen Filmförderungsgesetz bringen frischen Wind und rufen nach systemischer Veränderung. Der Wunsch nach Verbesserungen und einem respektvollen Miteinander auf allen Ebenen wird immer lauter. Doch wie schaffen wir es, faire und nachhaltige Arbeitsbedingungen flächendeckend zu etablieren? Christine von Fragstein und Christine Tröstrum von der Initiative Fair Play setzen sich genau dafür ein. Fair Play unterstützt die Branche dabei, Verantwortungsbewusstsein zu stärken und soziale Nachhaltigkeit ins Zentrum zu rücken. In Zeiten von Krisen und Kriegen trägt die Kulturbranche eine besondere Verantwortung, als Plattform für Dialog und Reflexion zu dienen, gesellschaftliche Konflikte sichtbar zu machen und zugleich Räume für Verständigung zu schaffen. Letzteres ist jedoch insbesondere in diesen angespannten Zeiten sehr schwer zu bewerkstelligen. Das hohe Konfliktpotenzial und die Unterschiedlichkeit der Positionen bei Themen wie dem Nahost-Konflikt oder dem Russland-Ukraine-Krieg lassen nur selten Raum für Kompromisse. Dennoch sehen sich zahlreiche Filmfestivals vor der Mammutaufgabe, diese Fragen nicht unbehandelt zu lassen und zugleich allen Betroffenen gegenüber respektvoll zu sein. Darüber, wie Festivals mit diesem Thema umgehen können,  sprechen wir heute mit Heleen Gerritsen, Leiterin des goEast Filmfestivals, und Daniel Sponsel, künstlerischer Leiter des DOK.fest München. Beide legen großen Wert auf die Schaffung eines Raumes für Dialog und berichten über die Herausforderungen und Unwägbarkeiten, die sie in den vergangenen Jahren erlebt haben. In unserer heutigen Folge besuchen wir die Endzeit und beschäftigen uns mit der Darstellung und Machart von Dystopien im Kino oder der Serie. Mit unseren Gästen Regisseur Erik van Schoor und Regisseur Michael Kleinfeld, die beide zwei eigene Filme aus der Endzeit mitgebracht haben, reden wir über die Arbeit an ihren beiden Filmen. Zusätzlich reden wir über bekannte Genrevertreter aus den letzten Jahren und stellen uns die Frage, was der besondere Reiz an diesen Zukunftsvisionen ist.
