It’s kind of unfair how talented quickreaver is to be honest. Not only is she an amazing artist, but she is also an extremely talented writer. Once I got permission to narrate her stuff, I have to admit that I couldn’t decide. So, I ended up picking two. This brief summary doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the themes and characterizations lying in wait for a reader to uncover under mind-blowing smut. It’s blown up on AO3 with over 17,000 hits at the time of recording. It seemed like a great time to gently take this author to task. Luckily, BJ agreed.

“This whole thing is kinky and explicit AF. It's got a good whack of angst, especially at the start, but if you take a chance on me, I promise it's also schmoopy as all get-out. Despite the somewhat alarming tags, please note that I only write happy endings.

If you don't like men showing emotions in response to trauma, this is not the right place for you.”

This doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the Wincest epic that is the Sandman ‘verse. And it’s obvious many readers like men showing emotions in response to trauma—the series, which began in 2022 and was completed in 2023, currently has well over 30,000 hits and almost 1,000 kudos on AO3!

Sandra and Kasey talked to Dreamer about everything they could think of about this story: from inspiration to the writing and beta process and posting decisions when you’ve got a 311,000 word-count baby you want to share with the Supernatural FanFic world. Kasey and Sandra are thrilled to share this lively conversation with a Wincest author who has run away with their collective hearts (and numerous marriage proposals). Known as runawaydr3amer, this former LiveJournal fic poster bestowed AO3 users with the gift of her older fics in 2022. Then, in 2023, she completed the legitimate epic that is the Sandman ‘verse. Dreamer is an amazing author who can provide details and nuances in every single ounce of angst and pining and fluff and smut when it comes to Sam and Dean. 

Okay, so this interview took about three attempts to get recorded. Life and time zones continued to throw a spanner in the works. Over the course of those months, Kasey also had a name change (explained in the intro). But by Chuck, Kasey and Sandra were finally able to complete this fun and insightful chat with Dreamer. But don’t think they’re done yet. There’ll be a Gently Taking Authors To Task episode with Dreamer focusing on the Sandman ‘verse in the near future!
