Episode 42 - Live from the Steppe. Mongol Derby episode!!!!

Season 3 · Episode 42

dimanche 6 octobre 2024Duration 02:26:41

In this special episode of the Horse People podcast, I take you on a journey through my experience competing in the Mongol Derby—the world’s longest and toughest horse race. From pre-race jitters to crossing the finish line, you’ll hear it all!

What makes this episode truly unique is that I recorded voice notes while I was racing across the Mongolian steppe. So, not only will you get to hear how I was feeling in the moment—tired, exhilarated, sometimes overwhelmed—but you’ll also get my reflections and commentary as I listen back to those notes, about a month and a half later. It’s like you’re right there with me, experiencing every high and low.

In this episode, I’ll cover:

  • Pre-race nerves and preparation
  • The challenges of navigating semi-wild horses across the vast, rugged terrain
  • The incredible people (and horses) I met along the way
  • My raw, unfiltered reactions during the race, and what I think about it all now
  • What it takes to push your limits in the world’s most grueling equestrian race

Whether you’re a seasoned horse person, a fan of the Mongol Derby, or just someone who loves an epic adventure, you’re going to love this episode.
