Movie Review and Rant: I finally watched 'It Ends With Us'
Season 2 · Episode 117
mercredi 8 janvier 2025 • Duration 01:05:46
It finally happened, I watched the movie that spurned all the lawsuits and drama - and I have thoughts. A review the rom-dramedy? in the spirit of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and thoughts and research into the various distracting derelict lewks and random designer labels. From the acting to the dialogue, and the plot to the set design, the creative choices were all noticed and noted. BONUS: A newly released voicemail from Justin Baldoni, plus the internet reminded me about some Deadpool director drama that sounds familiar

Deep Dive: It Ends with Us/These Lawsuits - Part 7
Season 2 · Episode 116
dimanche 5 janvier 2025 • Duration 01:16:22
The conclusion of Justin Baldoni's jam packed lawsuit against the New York Times that covers a pile of alleged inaccuracies from their article regarding a "smear campaign" against Blake Lively. Full text message exchanges between Justin's team seem to present a different reality from the vindictive scenarios outlined in Blake's complaint. Justin's version tells a story of his small production house being blindsided and strong-armed into submission by a powerful celebrity couple. Multiple things can be true, and while several allegations weren't addressed, both sides want a jury trial which hopefully means every detail will be shared at some point.

Deep Dive: Luigi Mangione, Part 2 - Morality and The Power of an Idea
Episode 107
vendredi 13 décembre 2024 • Duration 57:46
Updates on the case as it stands with a disclaimer that Luigi should be viewed as a suspect, innocent until proven guilty, not definitively guilty until that is proven in court. Analyzing details of his online footprint and alleged evidence has provided more seemingly hidden messages that are reviewed before asking questions that arise when debating his connection. The topic that super cedes all others is the unity of the majority, the wave of their discontent that is calling out the abuse and misdeeds of privatized healthcare and insurance that has resulted in prioritization of money over health. As voices get louder, we're also witnessing a suppression of related content and an eagerness to make an example out of a woman who said specific words in anger after being denied a claim this week. Also, a look at civil unrest through a historical lens, morality policing, and why this next generation isn't as phased by violence as their elders may expect.

Recap and Review: The Housewife & The Hustler Part 2 - The Reckoning
Season 1 · Episode 14
jeudi 15 février 2024 • Duration 01:28:15
A recap and opinion of Hulu's second documentary detailing crimes spearheaded by Tom Girardi and the Girardi | Keese law firm. Failings of the California Bar Association are highlighted as well as the current status of ongoing legal battles for both Tom and Erika, including an overview of the Marco Marco lawsuit referenced on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she mentioned wearing a wire in a federal investigation. The 2-hour documentary also provided an update on several client-victims and focused on a group who welcomed a sit-down with Erika in the hopes that she would no longer refer to them as "alleged".
This recap cites the Hulu documentary and L.A. Times articles.

Deep Dive: The Coveted Girardi Branded Earrings
Season 1 · Episode 12
jeudi 8 février 2024 • Duration 01:05:06
In this dive we learn more about the chaotic path the custom made earrings have taken that involves multiple robberies, a lengthy HOA lawsuit, and a dalliance with tax authorities, all of which led to the bankruptcy trustee having ample documentation when the time came to confirm items purchased with client funds. We also review bad karma origins of another piece from the "Girardi Collection" and contrast Erika's desire to hold onto the spoils of ill-gotten goods with others who were eager to part with lavish gifts unknowingly funded by Tom's clients.
This dive cites information from multiple L.A. Times and N.Y. Times articles, as well as court case filings.
