Statistics show that one in three women will experience violence or a sexual assault once in their lifetime. At the age of 18, Crystal Greenwood experienced a violent sexual assault that left her with residual trauma. After turning to drugs and alcohol to cope with the trauma she found movement and martial arts as a positive way to move through her pain, on her path to healing. Her passion for martial arts led her to opening her own martial arts studio with her husband where they educate others on self-defence and martial arts. In this episode Crystal shares some of her own personal experience but also, how you can keep yourself safer.
