I collect first-hand paranormal encounters that I find and present them with genuine interest, casual analysis, and correlating folklore. My intention is to curate tales that highlight the aspect of human experience that I find most interesting–the otherworldly and unexplainable. For as long as there have been humans, there have been fairies, ghosts, strange animals, supernatural abilities, and stories about them.

The classic setting in which these tales are told are by the fire. Consider this your digital hearth-side. Pull up a chair, and listen to stories best told by candlelight.

Stairways to Hell, crashed saucers, and Borrowers 🟎 weird tales from the basement

lundi 12 mai 2025Duration 55:35

Tonight we’ll be continuing my series on “deconstructing a haunted house”, where I go room to room in a house reading experiences that take place there. Tonight, we’ll be going down to the basement…. perhaps the creepiest room in the house, but is it the most haunted?

I read first-hand experiences of odd and unsettling encounters, such as small humanoids that run along the baseboards and hide under sinks, crashed flying saucers, a staircase that mysteriously appears one day and one day only, and more. In between stories I’ll provide my thoughts and commentary, muse on the character of the basement in dream symbolism, media, and the collective unconscious, and consider where this rooms fits in terms of being the “most haunted” room in the house.

Shadow goblins, dripping green slime, little doctors & other weird childhood experiences

lundi 23 décembre 2024Duration 01:22:19

Have you ever seen something strange in your room at night when you are waiting to fall asleep? Many people have, and the experiences are quite varied, from abstract shapes to bizarre dismembered apparitions. Whether these are ghosts, fairies, aliens, or just hypnagogic hallucinations is up for debate, but the fact remains that they are fascinating and they are common, particularly in childhood.

So, tonight I’ll be reading a large batch of stories regarding odd and possibly paranormal experiences witnessed by children in their bedrooms. Sources include the Fairy Census, Your Ghost Stories, Reddit, and more…

Dish-lending elves, dance-teaching dwarves & more multicultural fairy experiences

lundi 9 décembre 2024Duration 59:08

Many people are familiar with the fairies of Irish folklore, but a similar sort of being is also described in many cultures across the world (if not all of them), bearing similarities in appearance, behavior, and legends, but called by different names.

Tonight we will examine what could be considered fairies or elves in a variety of cultures, such as Malay, Native American, Mexican, Filipino, and more. These will be explored through a mixture of first-hand experiences pulled from forums and surveys, and folklore referenced from books, articles, and web sources.

Even with similarities abound, the human experience ceaselessly proves to be vastly varied, and ever-so fascinating.

Gnomes ❧ from garden variety encounters to stories of high strangeness ⋆ first-hand experiences & folklore

lundi 25 novembre 2024Duration 55:53

Tonight’s topic is gnomes! I’m going to be reading first-hand encounters with gnomes from the Fairy Census, Phantoms & Monsters, and Castle of Spirits. In between stories I will be discussing the folkloric history and variety of gnomes, and the diversity of these encounters may leave us questioning what actually “defines” a gnome.

Voice mimics, disappearing diners & local legends ❧ exploring liminal earth

lundi 11 novembre 2024Duration 27:25

Tonight I’ll be reading stories from Liminal Earth (https://liminal.earth/), a website where people post their first-hand accounts of strange experiences, such as ghost or UFO experiences, time slips, bigfoot sightings, and more.

In addition to sharing their stories, the poster also tags the location of the experience on a map, so in addition to reading the accounts, I also dig into the area of each story and see what else we can find as far as hauntings, urban legends, and local lore go.

Please enjoy these 5 stories of creature sightings, voice mimics, and vanishing diners–with some urban legends and commentary in-between!
