010: Cozy Up! Dressing for Cold Weather Camping
Season 1 · Episode 10
jeudi 24 décembre 2020 • Duration 13:09
Episode Summary:
This week we’re talk’n all about what to wear when cold weather camping from wool vs. cotton to layering and staying safe. While most people understand the concept of layering, it’s certainly nothing to overlook for cold weather camping. Having the right types of fabrics and layers is key to staying warm and dry. Moisture can come from more than just the outdoors with snow and rain. If you end up sweating inside your layers without wearing the right type of fabric, this can actually prevent you from staying warm.
Spiked Wassail Recipe:
- ½ gallon of apple cider
- 1 ½ cups of orange juice
- ⅓ cups of brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- ⅓ orange (with peel & sliced)
- 6- 8 whole cloves
- 1 cup of fresh cranberries
- 3 sticks of cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon of ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ½ small lemon (sliced)
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- Spiced whisky or bourbon, optional
In a large pot, combine all ingredients over medium heat until it begins to slightly boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 1 hour.
