One more week until the kickoff of Fort Wayne's newest podcast, Fort Wayne Footy. This one is all about celebrating and elevating the game of soccer in the Fort Wayne Area. We have a great line up of hosts this season and have already booked some great guests for the show.

Hey Fort Wayne, Indiana! We are a city who has proven ourselves to be passionate and lovers of the game of soccer from the earliest ages to the professional ranks. We have teams that are willing and able to compete at any and all levels despite being such a small market. And it's time we start talking about it.

My name is Brian Biedenbach. I'm a podcaster, I'm a video content creator with Summit City Studios and I've been part of Cincinnati Soccer Talk for the last three seasons. And it's time to finally bring the soccer talk to the city where I live. And that's why we've assembled a fantastic team of soccer minded individuals. I'm talking college coaches, high school coaches, we've got parents of young players, we've got folks involved in local clubs here in Fort Wayne to bring you Fort Wayne Footy. We're here to celebrate the game of soccer and elevate the game of soccer right here in our backyard.

It was a busy week at home for Fort Wayne FC, but they took care of business with wins over Kings Hammer FC Columbus on Wednesday and Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati on Saturday. After earning 6 more points, Fort Wayne remains at the top of the table in the Valley Division of USL League 2.

This week FWFC travels to West Virginia for a midweek match against the Chaos and will be back home next Saturday for their second meeting with the Dayton Dutch Lions.

Meanwhile, 1927SC suffered a loss on the road to new in-state rivals, Goshen City FC.

Fort Wayne FC played this past Friday to a 1-1 draw with USL2 newcomers, Lexington SC II. It was a hard-fought, back and forth match that required a second half equalizer from Aboubacar Traore for Fort Wayne to steal the point on the road.

We'll talk about that match and more with tonight's special guest, Fort Wayne FC's Head Coach, Mike Avery.

Fort Wayne FC took the show on the road this week for a stretch of 2 games. This Saturday they squared off against the Dayton Dutch Lions and and snatched a 2-0 victory. Next week they travel to Lexington to play Lexington SC II and look to continue their winning ways.

But Fort Wayne FC wasn't the only team in action this weekend. 1927 SC played a thriller with Grand Rapids SC and stole the victory in the 94th minute. Our own Dustin Diller was there and joins us tonight with his match report.

And Fort Wayne had 42 teams competing in Indianapolis this weekend as part of the Indiana Cup Tournaments.

Fort Wayne FC kicked off on Sunday night with a pre-season friendly against Sueño FC out of Joliet, IL. The team has only trained together for a few days and had a great opportunity to get their game legs under them in front of the home crowd before the season really kicks off next weekend.

We'll also give you a recap of 1927SC's season opener in Holland, MI, a preview of FWFC's next opponent, and a look around at other soccer in the area.

Fort Wayne FC kicks off next Sunday with a preseason friendly against Sueño FC out of Joliet, IL. This week on Fort Wayne Footy, we'll preview that match and take a look at the international friendly that was just announced that will be played later this summer at Bishop D'Arcy Stadium against Atlas U-23s out of Liga MX.

The 2025 season will be the final season Fort Wayne FC competes in USL League 2 and it could be the most exciting one yet. They enter the season with their sites set on claiming their third straight title as Valley Division champions, and with the talent they have assembled, they have all the potential to do so.

There is a lot to talk about in this first episode of Fort Wayne Footy and we have a great team to cover it. For the second time in 15 days, Fort Wayne FC faced off against the Kings Hammer squad out of Cincinnati. This time they did so on the road. King's Hammer put up a good fight on their home turf but in the end Fort Wayne came away the victors off the foot of Tiago Dias.

Meanwhile, in Grand Rapids, 1927SC took care of business with a 3-0 victory over the home side, Grand Rapids SC.
