F*ck Yeah is hosted by seasoned sex educators, fed up feminists, and queer moms, Sarah Tomchesson and Robin Jennings. We are on a mission to disrupt traditional ideas about sexuality, patriarchal gender roles, intimate relationships, parenthood, and queer identity. Each week we explore topics with irreverence, nuance, compassion and curiosity. With the help of experts (and all-around interesting people), we unpack how to parent in a sex-positive way, what somatic self-care looks like, the ABCs of Kink, and how erotic embodiment is essentially queer. Join us every Thursday in our search for radical (self) acceptance as we explore taboos and the beautifully messy parts of this human experience.

F*ck Yeah to Erotic Cinema with Daviel Shy

Season 4 · Episode 5

mercredi 11 septembre 2024Duration 01:17:18

Filmmaker Daviel Shy joins us to share about her upcoming project, The Lovers, which serves eroticism and queerness in equal parts. Daviel's creative mindset is akin to an arousal state. In creative flow, she takes in her experiences with heightened awareness and incorporates them into her work. Daviel also integrates the unique lived experiences of her collaborators into her work and allows space for the work to be changed by those both in front of and behind the camera. The Lovers web series is a semi-autobiographical work that integrates the ways Daviel and her collaborators sought connection through the pandemic and how the isolation, separation and strange interconnectedness of the pandemic changed them (and all of us). In revisiting the experience of the pandemic, audiences are able to process and integrate their lingering grief and trauma from living through similar experiences. The series premieres September 21st at the LA Gay and Lesbian Center. Tickets can be reserved at givebutter.com/SsGRph

You can also register for the Shameless Sex Couples Retreat that Sarah has been talking about and will be co-facilitating Nov 12-17.

Daviel Shy wrote and directed THE LADIES ALMANACK, starring Guinevere Turner, Hélène Cixous, and Eileen Myles. She created and stars in the seven episode series, THE LOVERS, and her fiction appears in the 2024 Anthology, SLUTS, edited by Michelle Tea and published by Dopamine/Semiotext(e). She is currently co-founding a porn production company called DAYLiGHT FiLMs.

As promised, we are following up this week's episode with a segment dedicated to the human giver syndrome as defined in Emily and Amelia Nagoski's book Burnout: Unlocking the Secret to the Stress Cycle. Human giver syndrome offers insight into the unique stressors that come with caregiving or being the nurturer in intimate relationships. Human givers often experience guilt, shame and judgement, in addition to stress, when not acting in service to the human beings in their sphere. This episode is a call to empathy and compassion for all of the human givers - we see you.

F*ck Yeah to Being Unapologetically Iconic with Jet Setting Jasmine

Season 3 · Episode 17

jeudi 7 mars 2024Duration 01:16:07

Jet Setting Jasmine is an icon and owns it. As a multihyphenate adult performer, director, mental health professional, and parent Jasmine brings her full personhood to each of her roles and identities. We talk about what it takes to openly and unapologetically embrace your unique greatness, how to parent with authenticity, and how to embody and model your ethics. Jasmine shares ways to initiate conversations with your kids about boundaries, consent, sexuality, and porn that aligns with your ethics and evolves over their lifespan. She gives examples of utilizing media as a connection point and teaching tool in those evolving conversations. We talk about the state of the porn industry, how difficult it can be to define (and find) ethical pornography, and the ways political discourse makes its way into the bedroom.

Jasmine's work centers decolonizing the professional spaces she occupies - porn and mental health - and she models boundary-setting, prioritizing safety, trusting your intuition, and living your values in everything she does. This conversation ranges from teaching your kids the Boundary Song to recognizing how corporate ethics rule your sex life. Tune in to learn why Jasmine is unapologetically iconic!

Jet Setting Jasmine is an award-winning adult film director, entertainer, and master fetish trainer. She is also a licensed psychotherapist and educator who uses her expertise in mental health to advocate for a more inclusive and ethically-sound adult entertainment industry. Jasmine is the co-owner, along with partner King Noire, of Royal Fetish Films, a multi-channel adult-entertainment business that resists the discriminatory tropes common in the art of entertainment and mainstream adult industry. Well-trained to recognize the challenges that face workers in the adult film industry, Jasmine advocates for those who may not be empowered to speak for themselves. She employs cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy, always with an aim of providing the most therapeutic client-care possible. Follow Jasmine on IG

F*ck Yeah to Embodied Self-Care with Anne Hodder-Shipp

Season 3 · Episode 16

jeudi 22 février 2024Duration 01:04:25

Anne Hodder-Shipp of sex ed internet fame joins us again to demystify the misunderstood "P" word - pleasure. Anne and Sarah co-facilitate a course, Pleasure Attitudes, that focuses on re-establishing a joyful connection to pleasure in all of its forms. Robin interviews them and the three break down the difference between pleasure and sexual pleasure (and why they've come to be conflated), the blocks that many of us face when trying to source pleasure in our lives, and what to do about it. Anne and Sarah share how they help Pleasure Attitudes participants establish embodied self support practices and why it's so important to create routines that are personalized to your needs rather than fit the mold of what is packaged and sold to us as "self care." This episode contains a fair amount of pleasure and self care myth-busting as well as our signature permission-giving around getting to know your authentic needs and desires. Sarah closes out the episode with a "This is going to make you fucking mad" segment about the recent Alabama Supreme Court decision granting "personhood" to embryos.

Content warning: Sarah and Robin start the episode talking about the recent death of nonbinary teen, Nex Benedict. F*ck Yeah to Gender Euphoria with Beck Gee

Season 3 · Episode 13

jeudi 1 février 2024Duration 01:09:13

Beck Gee joins FYP to talk about trans joy and struggle. Beck breaks down the ways the DSM-5’s (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) framework and “gender dysphoria” diagnosis creates a restrictive container for gender expansive folks, which compounds the lived experience of trying to fit into a binary world, and how the issues with gender diversity exist in our transphobic and cis-heteronormative culture not within the individuals experiencing a dissonance with the gender they were assigned at birth. Beck shares his personal journey of coming into his trans masculine identity and the joy he finds in his gay, cowboy, leather life. Beck shares ways to challenge yourself, examine your own gender and sexuality as a first step towards showing up as an ally. This episode explores the intersections of mental health, substance use, and gender and sexuality exploration. Robin and Sarah share about their kids' explorations and curiosity about their gender at the end of the episode.

Beck is an accomplished master's level clinician, armed with a profound educational background in Sociology, emphasizing Gender & Sexuality at the undergraduate level, and a master's degree in Addiction Counseling. Beck recently completed his second master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. With over 15 years of dedicated service in the mental health and substance use field, Beck has passionately channeled his expertise towards championing the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community, adolescents, and families. F*ck Yeah to Queer Cuisine with Chef Kat Mciver

Season 3 · Episode 11

jeudi 18 janvier 2024Duration 01:07:34

This week we're talking about food! No, "Queer Cuisine" is not a euphemism. Chef Kat Mciver of seasonal farm-to-table cafe Wide Eyes Open Palms in Long Beach joins us and we get to ask an expert about our personal (and very different) struggles with food. Kat shares about how the punk scene prepared her for toxic kitchen culture, enlightens us on her cooking philosophy of "waste not, want not" and how to use every part of a plant (think carrot tops, radish greens and pea tendrils). We contemplate the idea that food may mean something special to us as queer people and try to name what makes something "Queer Cuisine." Kat also shares an intuitive eating practice and her approach to shopping at a farmer's market.

If you're interested in visiting Kat's cafe, WEOP was founded on the mission of being the ultimate brunch experience, combining the joys of a perfectly prepared coffee with the nourishment of a fresh, healthy farmers market-sourced meal, and a fresh-baked pastry. We aim to bring all of that into a positive environment focused on inclusivity and celebrating the LGBTQ, women, and POC communities, each and every day. Give them a follow HERE.
