274: Felix Mueller – Can Keto Reverse Polycystic Kidney Disease?
Episode 274
Thursday, October 1, 2026 • Duration 01:24:41
Felix Mueller
Felix Mueller is a health author, metabolic-health coach, and the founder of REVERSING PKD. Diagnosed with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (more than 1 in 1000 people have it) at age 16, Felix spent years searching for ways to influence a condition he had been told was largely beyond his control.
His research led him to therapeutic ketosis, fasting, metabolic flexibility, and the emerging science connecting mitochondrial dysfunction, insulin resistance, inflammation, and abnormal cell growth. By applying these principles to his own life, Felix has seen significant improvements in his metabolic health and kidney-related markers, including a reduction in total kidney volume and much increased kidney function.
He is the author of Reversing Polycystic Kidney Disease: The PKDproof Program, which includes more than 150 scientific references and a foreword by Dave Asprey. Through his book, podcast, online community, and one-to-one coaching, Felix helps people with PKD better understand nutrition, ketosis, fasting, protein intake, stress, environmental factors, and the practical realities of making sustainable lifestyle changes.
Felix’s work combines scientific curiosity with lived experience. His mission is to challenge the idea that people with chronic disease are powerless, and to help them become active participants in their own health journey.
Key Quote
“It’s not really about chasing super high ketones. This is a marathon, not a sprint.”
– Felix Mueller
Felix’s Top Tips
Don’t chase super high ketones. If you’re doing this long term, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, so make it sustainable.
Make nutrient density and high-quality protein your top priority. Replace the foods you remove instead of just restricting yourself, for example with keto versions of your treats, so you don’t feel deprived. If you have kidney issues and need to limit protein, replace some of it with amino acids.
Prioritise sleep, and prioritise salt. Both make a big difference to your quality of life on a ketogenic diet.

273: Brendan Reesor – Beyond The Pale: Anemia and Mental Illness
Episode 273
Thursday, September 24, 2026 • Duration 01:30:24
Brendan Reesor
Brendan is the author of Beyond The Pale, Anemia: The Visible Yet Unseen Cause of Mental Illness & Gender Dysphoria. After seeing improvements to his own mental health and outlook on life, Brendan began to see a pattern around anemic pallor, plant-based diets, mental illness, woke ideology, and gender dysphoria. His work connects physical health, nutrition, and physiology to mental health, psychology, spirituality, emotions, philosophy and more. Brendan addresses the most important yet overlooked factor in mental illness: oxygen. There is simply nothing more important for the brain than oxygen, and it’s not easy to get enough of it delivered to the brain, especially when anemic. Brendan focuses on blood and oxygen to better understand diverse phenomena, including depression, anxiety, hallucinations, dissociation, nightmares, irrational thinking, blushing, mass hysterias, and more.
Key Quote
“It doesn’t matter how much of your RDA is on the package. It doesn’t matter if the spinach says that you’re getting so much iron. It’s just on paper. In reality, you’re not getting any of it.”
— Brendan Reesor
Brendan’s Top Tips
Learn to recognise and understand your symptoms — pallor, bruising, restless legs, hair and skin changes are all signals, not things to just shrug off.
Eat more red meat, and avoid vegetables high in antinutrients (oxalates, tannins, soy protein, phytates) that block iron absorption.
Don’t give up on yourself — improving your health is worth it, even if you never become “the perfect specimen.”

269: Matthew Caruana – The Sweet Keto Chef
Episode 269
Thursday, August 20, 2026 • Duration 01:29:57
Matthew Caruana
Matthew built a career in professional cookery, becoming a Head Chef and working internationally. A serious motorbike accident in 2016 pushed him to take control of his health, leading to an eight and a half stone weight loss through a ketogenic diet. He began creating and sharing keto desserts, which grew into a following and a recipe book. After losing his job in 2020, he turned that passion into a business, becoming the UK’s first artisan keto chocolatier and going on to win multiple awards.
Key Quote
“I definitely feel depression from eating carbs, which is a crazy thing to say. I feel so much more sluggish and, you know… when you actually put the carbs back in, you feel so much worse, physically and mentally.”
— Matthew Caruana
Matthew’s Top Tips
Get a proper night’s sleep. It’s free, and it’s one of the biggest things that helps with impulse control around food.
Remove the treats from your house. If there’s friction between you and the bad stuff (having to get in the car and drive to the shop, for example), you’re far less likely to break.
Don’t punish yourself if you slip up. If you get carbed, go to bed, and the next day draw a line under it. Beating yourself up just spirals into eating more sugary things.

Everyone Deserves Dessert — available exclusively via Matthew’s website (not on Amazon).
Resources Mentioned
The Daisy Garland — the charity that helped Matthew’s friend’s daughter access a therapeutic ketogenic diet for juvenile epilepsy.

“You get one shot in life. It could all end tomorrow. Nobody’s going to care whether you were in the best shape of your life — live it to the max.”
— Mark Ennis
Mark’s Top Tips
Go in with the right attitude. Know why you’re doing this before you start — if it’s a short-term fix, it won’t work. This has to be for the long haul.
Don’t rush the process. You’re doing this for the rest of your life, so what’s the rush? It doesn’t matter if it takes longer than three months to get there.
Don’t take life too seriously. You only get one shot — surround yourself with people who are winning and get rid of negative energy wherever you find it.

266: Dave Mac – No Carb Life: Carnivore, Stroke Recovery and Getting Back Up
Episode 266
Thursday, July 23, 2026 • Duration 01:10:20
Dave Mac
Dave Mac is the host of the No Carb Life YouTube channel. He’s conducted over 1,900 interviews with people reversing chronic illness with a carnivore diet, and has personally followed the carnivore diet for nearly four years.
Key Quote
“I’ve interviewed people that have reversed or seen improvements with glaucoma. And a gentleman that was legally blind — after doing carnivore for a while — he saw his daughter for the first time in 10 years.”
— Dave Mac
Dave’s Top Tips
Take it one day at a time. Don’t project into the future or think about how you’ll manage it for a year — just focus on getting through today without carbs.
If you slip up, don’t beat yourself up — get straight back on track. Beating yourself up just makes it harder to get back on the wagon; treat a slip as past and move on immediately.
Don’t try to do everything at once. Trying to start carnivore, OMAD, and extended fasting all on day one sets you up to fail. Just focus on carnivore first — the fasting side tends to happen naturally once you’re fat-adapted.

265: Rosemary Laberee – Reversing Osteoporosis After 60
Episode 265
Thursday, July 16, 2026 • Duration 01:57:17
Rosemary Laberee
Rosemary Laberee reversed osteoporosis in her sixties through heavy lifting, jumping, and a nutrient-dense low carb diet — and she’s here to tell you it’s entirely possible to do the same, even if it takes years.
Key Quote
“No one’s coming to save you when it comes to your bone health. You have to learn this. You don’t have any choice.”
— Rosemary Laberee
About Rosemary Laberee
Rosemary has successfully reversed osteoporosis – in her 60s – by lifting, jumping and adhering to a very low carb, nutrient-dense, high protein/high fat diet. She brought every major metabolic marker into a superb range in the process. Her husband and four young adult kids urged Ro to take her story to Instagram. There, she is advising other women how to return their bodies to factory settings with proper movement and nutrition. Ro has a background in business, a master’s in health sciences, and just retired from her third career in a nationally recognized research institute. She takes special pleasure in helping other women understand that the principles of bone renewal – and of overall vitality and longevity – are simple. Guard your sleep, eat real food, pick up heavy stuff, and avoid stress.
Rosemary’s Top Tips
Your metabolic health is the number one thing for bone health — don’t wait for anyone to teach you, go learn it yourself.
Don’t worry about how long it takes — you’ve got the rest of your life.
Trust your own common sense — don’t let “experts” (often just operating out of expediency) do your thinking for you.
Fall in love with the process, not just the result — craving stronger bones without embracing the hard work guarantees disappointment.
What happens in the kitchen matters more than the hour in the gym — plan your meals in advance so you’re not making decisions (and bad choices) in the moment.
Don’t buy into the belief that osteoporosis can’t be reversed — that’s a scarcity mindset, not science.
