Tarot and the Solstice
Season 10 · Episode 2
vendredi 20 juin 2025 • Duration 26:40
Tarot and the Solstice
Welcome to Season 10 of Every Day Tarot! This season, I’m exploring the rich, magical intersections between tarot and witchcraft.
What we explore in this episode:
The spiritual significance of the Summer and Winter Solstices in tarot and witchcraft
How solstice energy connects to the zodiac sign Cancer, Venus, and the Two of Cups
Ancient traditions that honored the height of the sun’s power and what they can teach us
Ways to channel solstice energy into creativity, ritual, and emotional renewal
Resources referenced in this episode:
Tarot and Astrology: Enhance Your Readings with the Wisdom of the Zodiac by Corrine Kenner
The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu
We’ve reached a turning point in the year—the Solstice, when the sun stands still and the earth shifts its breath. It is an invitation to reflect on the light and the dark, the fullness and the stillness, and the stories unfolding in our own lives.
Whether you're basking in the radiance of the Summer Solstice or tending the quiet of the Winter Solstice, this threshold marks more than a change in season. It offers us a moment of cosmic perspective. It circles back to what we’ve planted, what we’ve harvested, and what remains unseen beneath the surface.
In the North, the Summer Solstice brings the longest day of the year, a culmination of growth, expression, and outward movement. In the South, the Winter Solstice invites us into deep rest, quiet contemplation, and the slow work of becoming.
Wherever you are in the world, this is a moment of threshold energy—a chance to ask yourself:
What am I carrying forward with intention?
What am I ready to release or compost?
Where is light returning in my life?
Where am I being called inward?
The Solstice is not about achieving a perfect balance. It’s about honoring the sacred shifts in our own cycles of becoming. It's about pausing long enough to notice: what has changed in me? What is asking to be seen, felt, or tended with care?
You are part of the earth’s breath.
And you are magic.

From The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams, I pulled the Five of Jugs (upright). This card is a reminder that grief and hope often coexist. This card speaks to what has been lost—and what still remains. It invites gentle self-forgiveness, present-moment awareness, and the courage to look toward what is yet to grow.
Reflective prompts on this card:
What past disappointment am I still holding onto?
How can I honor my grief without letting it cloud the present?
What beauty or connection still remains, even if it looks different than I expected?

Tarot & Astrology
Welcome to Season 10 of Every Day Tarot! This season, I’m exploring the rich, magical intersections between tarot and witchcraft—and we’re kicking things off with one of my favorite overlaps: Tarot and Astrology.
What we explore in this episode:
An introduction to astrology and how it aligns with tarot
An overview of the major arcana and their assigned zodiac signs and planetary ruler-ships
A mini tarot spread you can do to explore your sun, moon, and rising signs using the corresponding tarot cards
My personal reflections on being an Aquarius sun (The Star), Virgo moon (The Hermit), and Cancer rising (The Chariot)
How understanding astrological associations can deepen your tarot practice
Resources referenced in this episode:
Tarot and Astrology: Enhance Your Readings with the Wisdom of the Zodiac by Corrine Kenner
The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu
Although tarot and astrology are often studied separately,
they speak a shared language. The earliest tarot decks contained a lot of planetary and cosmic references—The Sun, The Moon, and The Star cards are some of the clearest examples.
Over time, mystics and philosophers began to notice deeper symbolic parallels, assigning astrological equivalents to each card, especially the major arcana.
One of the most widely used systems for this comes from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which matched each of the 22 major arcana cards with planets or zodiac signs. These connections add powerful layers of meaning to tarot readings used to explore your astrological birth chart.
In this episode, I referenced the book Tarot and Astrology: Enhance Your Readings with the Wisdom of the Zodiac by Corrine Kenner, which offers a really thoughtful breakdown of these associations. It’s a great read if you’re looking for a framework that blends structure with intuition. This book might be a good place to start!

Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington, I pulled the Two of Swords reversed, a card that speaks to mental overwhelm, hesitation, and the pressure of choice. In its upright form, the Two of Swords often represents a moment of stillness—sitting with a difficult decision, weighing two paths, seeking balance. But in reverse, that clarity feels harder to access.
Reflective prompts on this card:
What stories am I telling myself about ‘right’ vs. ‘wrong’ choices?
Am I trying to protect myself by not choosing?
What am I afraid might happen if I did?

Six of Cups
Season 9 · Episode 6
vendredi 6 juin 2025 • Duration 16:58
Six of Cups
Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.
What we explore in this episode:
The Six of Cups as a return to innocence, tenderness, and emotional restoration
Symbolism across decks: flowers, memories, gratitude, and soulful recollection
How nostalgia can serve as both a doorway to healing and a trap of avoidance
The inner child’s longing to be remembered, nurtured, and reconnected with
Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:
Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom
In this episode, the Six of Cups brings us into soft, sacred terrain: memory, gratitude, and the sacredness of feeling. It reminds us of the beauty we’ve known before, and encourages us to reach for it again, not as an escape, but as an anchor. Nostalgia, when grounded, can be a balm. It can guide us toward rituals, environments, or relationships that bring us back to ourselves.
But this card also challenges us not to romanticize the past to the point of avoidance. We’re asked to reclaim what was sweet without bypassing the full truth of what was. The Six of Cups is both a comfort and a mirror: What did you need then that you still need now? And how can you offer that to yourself with compassion?

Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Guide (reversed). This is a card that usually symbolizes Inheritance and Collection. Reversed, this card honors the perseverance it took to navigate struggle without much help from others. It acknowledges the internal grit and self-trust built from past hardship.
This card asks: How do you want to guide yourself forward, now that you know what you know? Can you trust that your past self gave you enough to start again?
Reflective prompts on this card:
What memories make you feel safe, soft, or seen?
In what ways can you reconnect with your inner child?
What do your past behaviors reveal about what you were trying to preserve or protect?
