Flat-faced, or brachycephalic, dog breeds face challenges that go beyond simply having a harder time staying cool in hot weather. Breeds like Frenchies, English Bulldogs, Pugs, and others, often struggle to breathe daily due to breeding for more wrinkles or a certain look that is appealing to consumers. Did you know that many of these breeds have malformed noses or palates that make it very difficult for them to live without pain? With the rise in popularity of these breeds, especially French Bulldogs, we want people to understand what they may be faced with when adding one of these breeds to their family.

Meet the Vizsla, a versatile, vivacious, Velcro-dog! The Vizsla is a Hungarian dog with a lot of stamina and an amazing hunting ability. It is a short-haired breed with a strong body and even stronger mind. This breed needs a home where it can be active and use its brain, so while the Vizsla isn’t the right breed for everyone, they do make an amazing family dog if given the structure and outlet they need to expend all that energy and brainpower! 
While this breed is generally healthy, tests that should be done include Hip Evaluation, Ophthalmologist Evaluation, and Thyroid Evaluation.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a breed of terriers from England and is one of several bull terrier breeds. While the origins of this breed come from the gambling world of dog fighting, this breed was carefully bred over the years to be a sweet, loyal, fun-loving, family dog. As you can see from this video, Peaches is a sweet, friendly, and very happy dog. It's important to note that just because a dog looks a certain way, this does not mean it's going to act a certain way. All dogs should be judged by their behaviors and not physical characteristics...kind of like what we should be doing with each other as well!
