In these deeply divided times, where we’re expanding our awareness of the ways we’ve contributed to inequity and injustice, where social media enables a lightning-fast game of “telephone”, where assumptions are made based on optics, and where calls to “cancel” someone can take place of relational engagement… the fear of being called-out can be gripping.

If we aim to embody our leadership…

We don’t want to react like a little animal backed into a corner. 

We don’t want to accidentally (let alone intentionally) cause harm. 

But when we don’t face the fear of being called-out, we become fragile instead of resilient...

We hide and keep ourselves small and quiet, because we don’t want to risk causing harm or receiving negative attention.

We become rigid, self-righteous, and defensive, because deep down we can’t handle being wrong.

In this episode, I share:

• How we can build resilience through receptivity (which doesn’t mean being open to abuse)
  
  
• The difference between calls for accountability and attacks, and why we ought to discern the difference, even if we don’t like how communication is being delivered
  
  
• How I “sort the mail” on communications, as a way to discern how I want to respond
  
  
• Why it’s crucial to remember that we have sovereign choice over how we respond
  
  
• What we need to consider about right-relationship, after the dust settles

In these times of intensity, many of us may find ourselves feeling tender and raw.  This can lead to our minds and nervous systems being more easily hijacked by technology and propaganda, leading to deepening disconnection, division, and aggression…

Lately, I have had many people reach out, challenged with sifting through all the competing and colliding narratives flying around, and desiring to feel more rooted clarity.

As we explore ways to create that are both personally and collectively nourishing, there’s an opportunity to seek clarity about what wants to be created, how it wants to be created, and what our place is in its creation.

Relating to our creations through an animist lens invites us to hold them in RELATIONSHIP with all other beings.  This opens up the possibility to create things that are more integrated and mutually nourishing.

Things are changing, but what will they change to…?

So many folks are asking deep questions right now…

What can the future hold, beyond these capitalist systems?
What is the future of my work?
What is the future of climate change?
Where do I want to live?

The BIG questions of our world, are shaping and fueling the big questions of our life.

But when we place a high value on certainty and clarity, there can be discomfort with uncertainty, and an avoidance of the feeling of confusion. 

This discomfort and avoidance can have us cling to the status-quo, rather than courageously and creatively envision and map towards new ways.

In this episode, I’ll share:

:: How we can normalize the feelings of confusion and disorientation for ourselves and others, so we can stay open to new possibilities for a more beautiful future.

:: The importance of creating intentional comfort, so we can navigate the intensity of entering the mystery.

:: Ways to identify your “pillars of nourishment”

:: How to discern who has the capacity to walk with us through the journey of questioning.
