A Tale of Two Fuentes: The 299th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying29 Oct 202502:01:43

Today we begin with Nick Fuentes—how did he go from a guy with Jewish friends, to someone who is proudly anti-Semitic? Why does “anti-Semitic” now have so many meanings? What are the differences between preference, discrimination, and bigotry? Then: Bill Gates changes his tune on climate change—or does he? His new memo still sounds the alarm about Carbon, but also privileges his pet projects of vaccinating the world and handing agriculture to the technologists. Finally: manta rays, how smart they are, how they respond to mirrors, and how much time they spend at the spa.

We are waking up, but at a terrible price: The 294th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying10 Sep 202501:39:04

Today we discuss MAHA, vaccines, Covid, autism, and ostriches. Senator Ron Johnson held a hearing on the corruption of science, at which Jake Scott (MD), Toby Rogers (PhD), and lawyer Aaron Siri testified about vaccine safety testing and the relationship between vaccines and autism. The new MAHA Strategy report attributes poor diet, aggregation of environmental chemicals, lack of physical activity, chronic stress, and overmedicalization to the decline in children’s health. Meanwhile, people who have been fooled by the fear campaign celebrate getting their newest Covid boosters. And in Canada, ostriches are at risk of being killed because of a misunderstanding of immunity, but people are fighting back. The immune system that defends the body politic is discovering how to defeat the infection. The battle is over the public consciousness.

While we were livestreaming, news broke that Charlie Kirk was shot during an event in Utah and sadly passed away shortly after.

“Charlie Kirk was a beautiful person. He died engaging his foes honorably. I truly hope he’s right about the universe and is receiving his reward. I’m beyond heartbroken for his lovely family—we must take care of them. Let’s live up to his example.” – Bret Weinstein

Exquisite Failures: The 233rd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying09 Jul 202401:53:59

In this 233rd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this week’s episode, we discuss The Hope Accord, which calls for the “immediate suspension of Covid-19 mRNA vaccine products.” We encourage you to sign it. Then: wisdom from Charlie Munger on why we should prefer a world in which some people are not compensated for their losses (even if they didn’t deserve to lose), over having gameable systems in which cheaters flourish. Then: how the NYT stacks the deck in favor of sunscreen, by asking oncologists and dermatologists. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Finally, how chytrid fungus has wiped out frog populations and species across the world; how fever is used by endotherms like us to clear infections; and new research that finds that frogs like frog saunas, which not only feels great, but helps them clear fungal infections. The through-line: human hubris intervening in complex systems often ends badly.

Common Sense, Inverted: The 232nd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying03 Jul 202402:06:38

In this 232nd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this week’s episode, we discuss the 248th anniversary of the founding of the United States, with readings from Common Sense and the Declaration of Independence. Then: deep state vs. shallow state, and how it came to be that news = New York Times ^-1, and health = CDC^-1. Discussing the biggest story of 2020—the corruption and affiliations of what would become the first family of the U.S.—was considered a moral failure at the time. Finally: feminism fails in a spectacular show of rugby and lingerie (as Meghan Murphy said: “Modern feminism wants women either in burkas or p*rn gear”), and we discuss why WNBA star Caitlyn Clark is being competed with in the way that she is.

In this week’s episode, we discuss the Supreme Court’s decision in Biden v Missouri, and its implications for free speech and censorship; the presidential debate that will exclude Kennedy; and the release of Julian Assange—all possible tactics to control public conversation. Also: what does an AI deep fake of Dave Chappelle suggest about the future of comedy, and the role of humor in human interactions? Finally: a meandering tale of cars, border guards, and leaping water vipers, culminating in discussion of new research out of Madagascar on jumping leeches.

It’s not Complicated: The 230th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying19 Jun 202401:45:53

In this 230th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this week’s episode, we discuss air quality in Los Angeles, and how California led the way in making catalytic converters standard in cars across the United States. Now, that regulatory apparatus is being used for less honorable ends, as legislators consider mandating the inclusion of folic acid in all tortilla products. We discuss pre- vs post-industrial diet, what mother’s milk is for, whether adult Americans are sleeping well, and how reductionism helped get us into this mess. Collectively, we have a complicated mindset, mapped on to a complex system. Then: the Pentagon funded an anti-vax campaign in the Philippines during Covid. At the same time that Americans who were hesitant about the Covid vax were demonized and targeted, the government was creating vaccine hesitancy in other parts of the world. The Cartesian crisis continues.

Then: utopias, and why they fail, from the hero of Er in Plato’s Republic to the Singularity. And we discuss the human need for story, which exists next to, and perhaps deeper than, our need for analysis and logic.

Science Friction: The 226th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying22 May 202402:03:54

In this 226th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss a new breakthrough in plant genetics: polyploid potatoes and corn from Ohalo Genetics, which are claimed to double the harvest from individual plants. Beginning with a discussion of naturally occurring polyploidy in other species, including frogs, we analyze the discussion of Ohalo’s new products with an evolutionary lens. Is it possible that biotechnology can evade trade-offs, or is this utopian thinking in the corporate world? Why do so many mistakes of modernity come in the form of people accustomed to complicated systems, applying their knowledge to complex systems? Finally: does Terrence Howard (recently on Joe Rogan) have a predictive model, or is he just blowing smoke?

Staring Down Ignoble Lies: The 293rd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying06 Sep 202501:45:27

Today we discuss RFK Jr. the CDC, autism and trans activism. Kennedy revealed this week that in 2002, the CDC destroyed data that showed that children who got the MMR vaccine before 36 months of age had far higher rates of autism than did those who get the vaccine later in life. An HHS report will soon be released that ties Tylenol use during pregnancy to autism—what does this tell us about past public health advice, safety and risk? How can we all become better at pattern recognition? Florida Surgeon General Joe Ladapo is moving away from vaccine mandates for all citizens, while the governors of the three West coast states are conflating “science” with “ideology” while pining for a Covid-era-style CDC. In trans land: comedy writer Graham Linehan was arrested for saying mean things on-line, while trans-activists are not arrested when they threaten to kick and punch those who don’t believe that men can become women. We explore the mental illness of trans-deluded people, and discuss Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk’s oldest son, who thinks he’s a girl.

Everything Under the Sun: The 225th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying15 May 202402:16:35

In this 225th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss assassination attempts, the sun, pharmaceuticals, and the American presidency. Assassination: Robert Fico, the president of Slovakia, was shot several days after announcing that his country would reject the WHO Pandemic Treaty. The sun: last weekend’s dramatic aurora were the visible manifestation of the strongest solar storm in 19 years; how should we be thinking about mitigating the risks to our electrical grid, and to our society, from future storms that will surely come? Also: how do risks from biotic vs abiotic forces differ? Pharma: Semaglutide (aka Ozempic) helps protects against heart disease! Or…not. We dive into the research that supposedly produced this result, complete with conflicts of interest between Novo Nordisk and the conference in Italy where the work was presented. Biden: invites Trump to debate, with conditions.

Anecdote in Science: The 224th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying08 May 202401:53:50

In this 224th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss animal behavior: the implications of an orangutan using a medicinal plant to treat a wound, and the one-off videos that we’ve all seen—of cats preventing toddlers from falling, of a beluga whale retrieving a woman’s phone. What does this say about the minds of these other organisms, and about us? Also: dog domestication, from wolves, but not from foxes. And: the New York Times publishes more insipid garbage about vaccine injury, Bret returns to the question of what safety means, and The Nation turns its back on its muckraking roots.

Never Alone: The 223rd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying04 May 202401:42:59

In this 223rd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss science and religion, materialism and other ways of understanding our world. Can analysis and quantification explain everything? Can narrative, intuition, and creativity? All are or should be part of the scientific process; science is incomplete with only one mode. We also discuss models, how they fail, how difficult they are to assess, and what one recent climate model has to say about the role of air pollution in Earth’s temperature. Enlightenment values require that we use our freedom to inquire about all things that we are curious about. Also: happy Beltane!

Why Darwin was Right: The 222nd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying24 Apr 202401:28:44

In this 222nd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss evolution, and how we know that it is true. We discuss the different kinds of beliefs that people have—beliefs that attempt to reconcile with reality, vs beliefs that reconcile with social standing and comfort. If your beliefs put you on the outs with your friends, do you change your beliefs, or your friends? Are you willing to give up the cocktail party for reality? We also discuss research published in 2000 and funded by Fauci’s NIAID, which demonstrated that it was possible to make chimeric coronaviruses, swapping the spike protein from one to a different species entirely. Finally: sex-biased gene expression, in which genes are expressed differently in the two sexes, in anatomical systems as varied as brain, kidneys, and liver.

In this episode, we discuss men competing against women in women’s sport, and the new research that shows there’s no problem at all. We are in a world of science cosplay, full of science skin suits. Then: cancel culture and its mirror image: promotion culture. The promotion of zombies to positions of power is a weapon of the culture. Also, if wisdom is about delayed gratification, and the counter-intuitive, and being comfortable with uncertainty, then we are in a society of deeply unwise people, a society led by people with the minds of children—just like in The Twilight Zone. Finally: how cats and humans communicate with one another by narrowing our eyes at each other.

In this episode, we discuss the modern Dark Age. Topics include informational advantage, entropy, and reason. We discuss whether all static rules are gameable, and whether adjusting your model to increase predictive power can help you evade the sophists. We also ask what people in North Korea actually think about their lives relative to the rest of the world, and how their situation is analogous to that of people who have been kidnapped, or to that of a populace that is convinced by authorities to do things that are against their interests. At what scales does Stockholm Syndrome apply? We also discuss confidence and humility, intellectual obstructionism, and the value of track records.

The Plot Against Kennedy: The 292nd Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying03 Sep 202501:36:39

Today we discuss the dust-up at the CDC, in which RFK Jr. fires the new director, after which other CDC officials resign, and eight former directors of the CDC pen a letter to the New York Times (as does Bernie Sanders) arguing that Kennedy is a hazard to our health. This follows a reveal from months ago that industry was collaborating to get rid of Kennedy. Also: What does Trump now think of Operation Warp Speed? How has industrialization affected our health? How are the words “vaccine” and “terrorist” being used in Orwellian ways? Is Kennedy a secret eugenicist, or is he—in fact—exactly the opposite? Finally: a new article on the harms and hazards of both SARS-CoV2 and the mRNA biologics said to counter the virus.

Normalizing Normativity: The 219th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying03 Apr 202402:02:26

In this 219th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss evolution and intelligent design, and why the failures of institutions and institutional science during Covid are causing people to question everything that science has concluded. We also discuss motonormativity—aka car brain—both steel manning it as a concept, and critiquing the research that named the phenomenon. Finally: sex chromosomes in cephalopods (octopus and their kin)—older than you think.

Original Syndrome: The 218th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying27 Mar 202401:43:33

In this 218th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss plants, a lot, in service of understanding what a “syndrome” is, and why it matters. This is not mere semantics, but if you feel that it is, focus on the tropical forests instead! There are plenty of bats to go around. What can you predict about the pollinators of flowers that are bright and showy and have no smell? How about those that are white and have a musty smell? What can you predict about jungle trees that grow fast and die young? How does such predictive power and pattern recognition relate to how to make sense of the world in which you live? Also: update from Panama: the San Vicente Camp is now closed, and a fire has apparently destroyed all of its records. Curious, that.

The Question is Moot: The 217th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying20 Mar 202402:02:54

In this 217th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss the Supreme Court, the First Amendment, Covid, censorship, DEI, the Rawlsian Veil of Ignorance, and affirmative action, in the context of Murthy v State of Missouri. We also talk about Goliath being a combination of emergence and collusion, and how facts are being used to support existing narratives, rather than stories being constructed using all of the facts. We discuss two explosive pieces of research that dropped this week—on the health risks of heat, and of intermittent fasting. And we briefly talk about why you should never cave to the mob (beaver edition).

In this 216th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss the WPATH files—internal documents from the World Professional Association on Transgender Health—which were released this month. In them, we find evidence that clinicians are encouraging hormonal and surgical interventions on young people who are too young to consent, have not been informed of the risks, and often have comorbidities. We also discuss an article by a trans-identified man who argues “the moral case for letting trans kids change their bodies.” Finally: the milk of amphibians.

Contested Development: The 215th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying06 Mar 202401:46:02

In this 215th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss the CDC’s new super simple recommendations on respiratory viruses, and learn from the CDC that treatment can be prevention. While the CDC never mentions vitamin D in these new guidelines, a new meta-analysis finds that vitamin D supplementation is protective against bad Covid outcomes, especially in people who were previously deficient. We also discuss how podcasts are stepping in for institutions, sparking intellectual connections that the academy used to provide—all of this in the context of genocide and perpetrator studies. Also: strictly mechanistic explanations are standing in for evolutionary ones in many fields—including ophthalmology, dentistry, and psychology—to the detriment of all. And: the shared teeth of mammals and crocodiles.

Polite Society Can Kill You: The 214th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying29 Feb 202401:51:21

In this 214th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss polite society, RSV, and Google’s Gemini. Under what circumstances should we listen to, or defer to, the will of polite society? How can we tell if those conditions are changing? With regard to RSV (Respiratory Syncitial Virus), how deadly is it? To whom? What drugs—vaccinations and otherwise—are available, and to whom? While Politico mocks those who question the use of RSV vaccine in children, the New York Times points out there is no FDA authorized RSV vaccine for children. We also discuss the RSV vaccine that was authorized for children in the 1960s—and how it made subsequent illness far worse for those vaccinated. Finally: how does Google’s roll-out of Gemini AI reveal what is going on behind the scenes? A discussion of positive and negative feedback illustrates more broadly what Gemini reveals.

Then: Duke University is deep-sixing its world class herbarium. We discuss the value of natural history museums, and of libraries, and defend the liberal arts and sciences as fundamental not just to human inquiry, but to human flourishing.

Freedom, Tyranny, and Childhood Lost: The 291st Evolutionary Lens w/ Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying27 Aug 202501:14:46

Today we discuss childhood, fitness, and self-defense; the through-line is freedom. First up: Illinois has become the first state in the Union to mandate mental health screening for children in grades 3 – 12, so that conditions from trauma to anxiety can be detected early. How mandatory will these screenings be? How confidential? What is anxiety, and why are children better off learning to experience and solve their own anxiety, than to be coddled at every turn? We argue that anxiety—like pain, and sadness—are signals from your brain and body that should be listened to rather than erased. Also: childhood is a time of exploration, of mixing reality with fantasy, and should not be a time when adults’ fantasies are imposed on children. Then: the New York Times cannot abide that anything that RFK Jr. does or says makes sense. Finally: do people have the right to defend themselves inside their own homes? Have we forgotten habeas corpus? Are the foundations of democracy coming apart at the seams?

Deadly Serious Games: The 212th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying14 Feb 202401:55:26

In this 212th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss how to build your own boot camp, with principles including the courage cascade, flak over the target, recognizing the distinction between signal and noise, random vs systematic error, “the room is not the room,” OODA loops, and keeping separate track of analytics and morals. Also: how a new ant in Africa has forced lions to change how and what they hunt. And: microbeef sushi.

The Science of Conspiracy: The 211th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying07 Feb 202402:17:11

In this 211th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss Winter and seasonality, before a longer discussion of overfitting, shoe-horning, and straight-jacketing. How do models, collusion, and Occam’s Razor contribute to how we understand the world? Why are generalists better situated to interpret complexity than are specialists? Then: how good is the science behind the major paper out of The Lancet that assures us that we should not be eating red meat? Answer: not very. Finally, we discuss the orcas who were trapped in sea ice off of Japan, and what it means to be an orca (including mention of the grandmother hypothesis).

Trojan Migration? The 210th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying31 Jan 202401:46:05

In this 210th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss hypotheses about the border situation. Having just returned from Panama, Bret hypothesizes that there are two immigrations happening: the migration driven by the pursuit of greater economic opportunities in the United States, which includes people from all over the world, and a lot of families; and a second, cryptic migration which includes mostly people from China, of military age, heavily skewed towards men. He also reviews a hypothesis from some years back, about the effect of the one-child policy in China, taken in concert with the tendency to prefer boys. We then discuss neurogenesis in pregnant mice; and also the “diaper spa” being opened in New Hampshire, which is only possible because we have stopped allowing ourselves to critique anti-social and anti-societal tendencies.

Peril in The Main Stream: The 209th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying24 Jan 202401:31:47

In this 209th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss misinformation and how dangerous it is, especially to mainstream researchers and media. We dissect research that claims to find evidence that “doing your own research” actually cements false views, and find that the research itself is so methodologically flawed as to be incapable of delivering accurate results. We celebrate the finding of Canada’s Federal Court that the invoking of the Emergencies Act during the Trucker’s Convoy was unconstitutional; and we discuss the WHO’s faltering pandemic preparedness plan. And we briefly discussed Panama: what is happening in the Darien, in the Panama Canal, and why a monkey crossed the Canal. Head over to our Locals for more content from Bret & Zack’s recent trip to Panama.

Diversity, Equity, & Explosive Decompression: The 208th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying13 Jan 202401:43:46

In this 208th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss how not to hand Goliath a win. Letting Goliath in on the social landscape of the dissidents, on the petty feuds and disagreements, is giving it power that it should not have. And we discuss Boeing’s 737-9 Max airplanes: the one that blew out a door plug above Oregon; the FAA’s response to that “in-flight departure”; and recent changes at Boeing, which include increasing the focus on product and employee safety and product quality, to now also focus on climate, and on Diversity Equity and Inclusion). As we predicted before: move away from prioritizing merit in favor of immutable characteristics, and disaster will follow.

In this 207th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we sort out the strange reaction to Bret’s recent appearance on Tucker Carlson. What do all mobs have in common? What are the differences between critique and competition? We also talk about fat: from butter to olive oil to canola oil, what should you fry in? Are saturated fats bad for you? What are the differences between mono- and poly- unsaturated fats? Does the food industry have it right about anything? Should we fight for the right to yellow margarine?

In this 206th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss new year’s resolutions. The Oregon Health Authority has requested, using data kind of but not really from the CDC, that we resolve to get vaccinated! Then: a short reading from Natural Selections. And: What happened to Claudine Gay, the now-resigned president of Harvard, and why is anyone surprised? In light of the largest solar flare since 2017, which, had it been angled differently, could have wreaked havoc on Earth, why don’t we have systems in place to prevent such havoc? Are any of our institutions or systems functional? What is driving the lack of functionality?

#205: The World we Leave (Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying DarkHorse Livestream)28 Dec 202301:39:23

In this 205th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we briefly discuss solar storms, Carrington events, and the possible failure of the electrical grid. Then: what does the absence of organisms where they once were mean? In the Exumas, Bahamas, this month, there were no laughing gulls. Eight months ago they were abundant in the same place. Could they be migrating? Might it be a pathogen? Local patchiness? Major decline for other reasons, like competition, or toxicity from plastics or pesticides? We discuss conservation success stories, like sea otters and bald eagles and California condors; and failures, like sea stars on the West coast of North America; and show some videos from the Bahamas. We object to the conflation of “environmental decline” with “climate change.” And we discuss curly haired “woolly dogs” of the Pacific Northwest, who were bred and cared for by the Coast Salish people, but are now extinct.

#204 In Defense of the Indefensible (Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying DarkHorse Livestream)20 Dec 202301:36:15

In this 204th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode, we discuss science and faith, in the context of the recent court ruling that will keep Trump off the ballot in Colorado. We discuss failure modes, which include, yes, faith, and science, and falsificationism, and rationality, and more. All of these are useful in some contexts, some much more than others, but none are sufficient. What, in the end, are scientists doing, and what are people doing in the name of science? Also: the solstice, and a reading from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

#203 Cause of Death (Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying DarkHorse Livestream)13 Dec 202301:43:10

In this 203rd in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this episode we once again discuss college presidents, in light of what is happening at Harvard and other elite schools. We talk about historical and bureaucratic constraint, Evergreen, consulting firms, and plagiarism, and, in a related story, how someone acting on behalf of the Mayor of Boston mistakenly invited all 13 city councilors to a holiday party, when she meant to invite only the 6 who are “electeds of color.” Then: what do morbid curiosity and predator inspection have in common? People seem to be dying at high rates, and in new contexts, but is this actually the case? How would we know? What do the global excess mortality data suggest? Then: rules to live by, as acknowledged by us at Hanukkah.
