Overthinking is a quiet struggle many Christian leaders face. It often shows up as excessive analysis, fear of failure, and a deep desire to control outcomes—all of which slowly drain peace and undermine trust in God’s sovereignty.

In this episode, we examine what the Bible actually says about overthinking and why Scripture consistently calls leaders to trust God rather than rely on their own understanding. Overthinking is not simply “thinking too much”—it is often a form of under-trusting God, where anxiety replaces confidence in His guidance and timing.

Rooted in biblical truth, this episode reframes overthinking as a spiritual issue of trust, peace, and surrender, and offers practical, scriptural steps for leading intentionally without mental exhaustion or fear-driven striving.

• Overthinking vs. Trust: Overthinking often reflects a desire to control outcomes rather than rely on God’s direction and sovereignty.

• A Threat to Peace: Excessive thinking fueled by fear and anxiety robs leaders of peace and mirrors biblical definitions of worry rather than wise planning.

117. There is No Greater Love - Merry Christmas, friends! It is a busy time of year, but we pray you will slow down enough and remember that there is no greater love than God's love for you. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Christmas reminds us about a God who loves us so much He sent His Son to die on a cross for us. His birth is worthy of a celebration - especially now that we know that we know what it offers to us - Hope, reconciliation to God, hope of eternity with Him!

He humbled Himself, He gave His life, and He glorified the Father. This is the example that we are to follow. We are to humble ourselves. We are to live our life as a living sacrifice to Him. We are to live a life that brings honor to our Father.

May 2024 be the year our #1 goal is to look more and more like Christ. May we make Jesus the center of our life. May we point others to Him! To God be all the glory!

116. How Do I Grow My Love for Him? We have been talking about Jesus, His love for us, and our love for Him. We don't want our love to be stagnant or diminishing. We want to grow our love for Him, but it is not always easy. The pruning we endure, the suffering we endure, and the trials we walk through all teach us that He is trustworthy and lead us into a deeper love for Him.

115. God's Love is Personal - Today, we want you to know that God loves you! He knows you completely and He loves you completely! Don't let Satan cause you to doubt His love for you. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to pay the penalty for your sin so that you could have the hope of eternity with Him.

His love for you is personal and He is inviting you into a personal relationship with Him. He has proven it is a committed love. Now it is our turn to prove our commitment to Him. He has even given us a Helper - the Holy Spirit - to help us live out a committed love for our Savior.

Proof of our love for Jesus is our obedience to God's word. Our problem is that most of us don't know God's word enough to walk in obedience to it. As we get into the Word, it gets into us. But most importantly, as we read God's word we grow to know Him more, gain more understanding of the depth of His love for us, and find ourselves falling into a deeper love for Him.

114. Do I Love Jesus? Today is a good day to get real and ask ourselves this question, do I really love Jesus? How can we know the answer to this question and what does that look like in our daily life?

Let's talk about the time Peter denied Jesus 3 times... after Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection He is cooking breakfast for Peter when He asked Him, "Do you love me?". He asked Peter that same question 3 times. He was asking Him if He was committed to Him? Are we committed to Him?

What does it look like to live out a committed love relationship to Jesus? We want to declare our love for Him, but does how we live our life reflect that? And how can our love for Him grow? What if the more we understand the depth of our sin, the more we will understand the depth of His love - leading us into a deeper love for Him.

Let's begin by making Him the Lord of our life; seeking Him first; walking in obedience to Him; and surrendering all of me to Him. We must find our way into trusting Him. He has proven He is trustworthy. The more we learn to trust, the more our love will grow.

113. How Do We Conquer Fear? Fear does not equip us for winning, it equips us to fail. Fear is false evidence appearing real. We are worried about something that is not even a reality.

Fear opens the door for Satan to be able to work in our life. Let's shut that door and place our trust in Jesus. Listen as Kim, Pam, and Gwen dive into the topic of fear and what God has to say about it.

110. What is Your Relationship Status? Give it some thought today and consider - what is the reality of your relationship status with Jesus? Can you say that He is truly your best friend? If He were your best friend, how would it impact every area of your life?

We can know a lot about God, and still not really know Him in an intimate way. John 15:10 tell us to live continually nourished and empowered by His love. He has proven that He is trustworthy and that He is committed to us. But... what about us? Are we surrendered to Him and seeking to follow after Him? How we died to our self, the same way that He has died for us?

So where are you with Jesus? Are you dating, engaged, married, separated, divorced? We should be in a covenant relationship with our Lord and Savior. Are we? Today is a great day to refocus ourselves, submits ourselves to the Lord, and pursue a deeply rooted and committed intimate relationship with Him. It starts with being honest with ourselves.

We have been talking about victorious living for weeks now. So... here's the question - are you choosing to live the victorious life every single day? Steps to go from Defeated to Empowered - Are you feeling defeated? We can become consumed by all the things that are not going as expected in our life. We can feel like failures and even believe that we are done. Thank goodness our feelings are not always the truth of our reality. This is why God tells us to take every thought captive. 

So what are we to do? We are to take those defeatist thoughts captive and cry out to God; He will hear us. The Bible tells us that He will give us a way of escape. Therefore, we are to lean into His promises and believe His promises are true. God will not let us be defeated by what we face. Run your feelings through the filter of God’s word. The truth is you are not defeated; you are victorious through Christ. You are already seated in the heavenlies.

Join us for a conversation about what this means. We are taught to never give up. We agree, we are not called to be quitters - as in sitting down or getting stuck. But there are some things we need to give up if we are to live the victorious life. Kim talks about giving up her “what if” and exchanging it for “even if”. Pam shares that she needed clarification on the term “winning”. How do we win in Jesus? We are team Jesus and because we know how this all ends, we can rest assured that we are on the winning team.

Gwen shares that we win by giving up our self-centered ways. We are on a path moving toward our Savior. We keep our eyes fixed on Him and keep on moving closer and closer to Him. When our faith wavers, we lose sight of Him and move in the wrong direction. Faith requires that we give up control and place our trust in Him.

The victorious Christian life is a life lived by faith in a moment by moment surrender to God. We can cast ALL our cares on Him because He cares for us. And that means that we can cast them once and for all and leave them there. Our steps should be walking in obedience to Him. We need to give up the world’s ways so that we can win in Jesus. You can live the victorious life and it all begins with surrendering. The more you surrender, the more victory you will experience.

How do we surrender it all to Him and live victoriously? Listen as Kim leads us through how we are to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him? It is an action item. Then as Gwen reminds us of Paul’s experience in the storm, we see a different perspective of surrender and gain a little more understanding of what it means to let go. And Pam leads us deeper as we mesh all of this together. 

We get caught up in the how to’s and the concern if we are doing it all the right way. You will enjoy this transparent conversation and be inspired to stop focusing on the wrong things. Your availability to Him matters more than your ability. Sometimes it is the struggle, the tension, that confirms we are on the right path. Satan wants to delay, detour, and discourage our growth.

We surrender from the position of victory! We are already seated in the heavenly places. We forget that we are in the midst of spiritual warfare. Surrender is a battle term - we are to lay everything down, raise our hands in surrender, and submit to the One we are surrendered to. We are to lay everything down that we have been using to go to war and surrender to Him! Seek Him first! He is our everything!

We have victory in Jesus! May we live everyday of our life in that great truth! Even when we have a falling away or a season of loss, He is our provision and supplies all of our needs according to His riches!

You will relate to what Gwen shares about the radiance we can have that transcends the darkness. She reminds us of when Moses had been in the presence of God he had a glow about him that the people noticed. Like Moses, when we spend time with the Lord, we receive a glow from being in His presence.

Do we want to be set apart and radiate Jesus? While our flesh wants to say “no, we want to fit in”. But once we experience Jesus and all that He came to offer, there is nothing better than being transformed and changed by time with Him. When we see others that do not look like us, do not live up to our expectations, or those who are making poor choices - do we judge or offer mercy? What does God have to say about that? How can we do better and learn to show mercy?

We want to make an impression on others and impact their lives in a positive way. But before we can make an impression on another, first an impression must be made on our soul. So, before we can convince others they need Jesus, we must first recognize our need and have that need filled. BAM! That is strong. Our life should not be about how we appear to be, it is about the condition of our heart and our motives for doing what we do.

We need to stop being filled with self and thinking what we can and can’t do is about us. We should live so surrendered to Him that He speaks through us, works through us, and makes an impression on others through us. Let our lives be all about Him and doing what He would have us to do! 

It all starts with becoming intentional and stepping into the opportunities that God gives us to talk about Him. How can we be intentional with our family, our friends, and with everyone we come in contact with through our work and our play?

Take some time as you contemplate this question. Fans are content to be Sunday Christians. Followers experience an intimate relationship with God. 

It is easy to be complacent and just be a fan of Jesus. In Revelations, we read this described as “luke-warm” - neither hot nor cold. We allow ourselves too much gray area. So today - let’s ask a yes or no question. Are you following Jesus? If the answer is no - you can change it to a yes today! 

Everyday we get to decide, will you follow your flesh (Satan) or will you follow Jesus? Have you surrendered your life to Him? Growing up in a Christian home or in church does not grandfather you into being a passionate follower. We need to all ask for God’s grace to see our own sin, recognize our deep need for Jesus, and plead for His help.

We pray this episode is an encouragement to you and you really ponder this hard question. How can you become a follower of Jesus Christ? How can you commit to engage Him in every area of your life? How can you be sold out for Him? It will not always be easy. It requires walking in His steps which will prove to be difficult - but He is worthy of our total surrender. It all begins with what you believe. Do you believe God has a purpose for your life? Do you believe you were created with gifts and talents? Do you believe that you have disqualified yourself?

So many times your purpose is discovered buried in your burdens. What weighs heavy on your heart? What do you want to change? What are your gifts and talents? Instead of focusing on what you can’t do, focus on what is easy for you. Then pray that one word prayer - “YES! Yes Lord, I will do what you ask me to do.” 

Who am I for God to use me? It is not about who we are, but it is all about who He is. It is a journey of obedience as we take the steps He has for us to take. We cannot listen to those around us; instead, we can only listen to the One who instilled our purpose in us. We don’t have to feel like we are qualified to do what God is asking because He is the great qualifier! 

We pray this episode is an encouragement to you. Remember, it is not about us. It is He who made us who we are to fulfill His ultimate purposes. Let’s just surrender and lean into Him! Are you stuck in a pit? Whether it is grief, depression, anxiety, fear, disappointment, or your own sin that has you sinking into a dark pit - we want you to know you do not have to stay there. Satan wants you to believe you are stuck forever, but Jesus’ hand is outstretched waiting to pull you forward. 

Sometimes there is nothing huge happening in your life, but you still feel stuck. It could be comparison, too much bad news, or our unmet expectations that lead us into that pit. The Bible tells us that when our heart is overwhelmed, we need to be led to the rock that is higher than we are. When we are disappointed, we need to be reappointed. When we are discouraged, we need to be encouraged. He is our answer.

We pray this episode is an encouragement to you. Listen to your feelings, but discern when they are leading you astray. Run those feelings through the truth of God’s word. Reflect, remember, and let God raise you up out of that pit to a higher place in Him.

Following Jesus is not always easy. It would actually be easier to not follow Him and to instead just go along with the crowd. But… where would that lead us? Whether we follow Him or not, there is a sacrifice to be made. What will we sacrifice? Will we die to our flesh or will we chase what leads us astray?

Sometimes, we worry about what we will have to give up and we don’t realize what we will gain as we grow to know Jesus more. The truth is we have a choice to make. Are we going to follow Jesus or are we going to just pretend like we are? There is a decision that needs to be made. Will we make it today.

God is faithful. He is trustworthy. He deserves to come first in our life. But we have an adversary that is sure to try to cause us to lose our way. This is why it is so important who you surround yourself with. We all need people in our life who are helping us grow to know Jesus more and no matter what, they are sure to point us back to Him.

Let’s get real! Listen to this episode as we have some real talk about this. Are we strong Christian women? Do we know who we are apart from Christ? Do we know who we are in Christ? This is the beginning of becoming a strong Christian woman.

This is important for us to acknowledge our weaknesses, recognize our sin, surrender it all to Him and allow Him to transform us into who it is He has created us to be. He has more for you, we are praying you step into it today and become a strong, Godly woman!

Do you struggle with anger management? Being reactionary, easy to offend and overly sensitive is a problem. What are we to do so that we can stay even tempered?

What do you do when you are in a difficult spot? It could be financially, relationally, emotionally, spiritually, etc. As believers, what should we do when we find ourselves in a hard situation?

1. Get into God’s word - for nourishment, instruction, fortitude

2. Suit up for the journey - it’s a part of your testimony. 

3. Count it all joy because God is going to use this difficult spot to grow you.

4. Be still and listen, so you can hear His whisper.

Daughter of the King, our difficult spots are not about us. Our life is not about us. This journey we are traveling is all about Him. He is waiting for us to look up! Let’s look to Him for He is good, He is faithful, He is enough! He is bigger than anything we will ever experience or go through. We are here for His teaching, His training, His guidance to help us fulfill His ultimate plan. 

Spend some time in Isaiah 43:2, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you…” God will carry you through your difficult times. What He teaches you in the dark, share in the light. He is writing your story and it is to be used for His glory!!! Be encouraged!

Join us as we talk about the seasons of life and how we are to rise up and live above our circumstances. Instead of asking “why”, what if we asked God, “what are you trying to teach me in this season?” We know that God works all things for our good. We know that God is good. Place your trust in Him and take notes. We want to remember His faithfulness when we find ourselves in a valley again.

To live as we should, we must focus or fix our eyes on Jesus. (episode 85) He has equipped us for the season we are currently facing. He sets us free from the shackles of this life and lifts us above the things that would devastate us. (Isaiah 40:31) As we lean into God, we have a more clear vision of our life. We gain a different perspective enabling us to see things more clearly or more as God views them.

Jesus is the Answer. Are we engaging Him in our life? We want to encourage you to engage and experience the more He came to offer you. We should engage Him in every area of our life - our identity, our relationships, our finances, our emotional health, our physical health, our growth and our spiritual disciplines. Remember who you are. Once you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are a daughter of the King. Are we living like it? As His child, He helps us rise above our circumstances. On this episode we are talking about what happens when we lose our focus and become distracted. When we do, we lose our way and begin to focus on all the wrong things. But… what happens when we fix our eyes on Jesus, focus on Him and His plan for our life? Then everything changes.

How do we focus? We have to remember who we are and what we believe. That’s a good place to start the day. Let’s begin by remembering who God is.  Who am I in light of Him? Remember who Jesus is and what He has done for us. That should shift our focus and impact every area of our life. We are not to conform and follow the world. We are to be transformed by our relationship with Jesus and by the studying of God’s word.

When we focus on Jesus, by seeking Him first and foremost in our life, everything else begins to fall in place. It doesn’t mean we won’t experience a storm - but it means we will have peace in the midst of the storm. We will prevail because He will carry us through. Focusing on God’s promises help us to keep our eyes fixed. We can trust God, His Living Word and His written Word.

How do we find our way to intentional rest? Are you so busy that you are constantly exhausted? When we fill every second with busyness and we try to do all the things others expect us to do, are we honoring God? So… what is the answer here? Well, Jesus set the example for us when He took time to go and be with the Father. How do we obey God and find the time to be still and know that He is God? It all begins with trust… trusting Him in all things.

As believers, we need to stop following the example of the world and follow the example of our Savior. We are constantly looking for the answer, when we have access to The Answer - Jesus. He is waiting for us to have an intimate relationship with Him. Matter of fact, He tells us exactly what we need to do in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

We need to know the answer to this question. We need to know deep down in the depths of our soul, can we trust God? Sometimes there is nothing devastating or big in our lives. Sometimes it is the accumulation of all the things - the pressures, the struggles, the demands on us - that lead us to cry out and scream, “what is happening, Lord?”

Love is in the air! We love love! We love to be in love, we love to feel loved and we love to make the ones we love to feel loved. But there is a flip side to love and it feels so ugly. God has given us the capacity to both love and to hate. Let’s talk about what God has to say about both love and hate.

As believers, let’s make sure we share the qualities of love in 1 Corinthians 13. God is love. Let’s ask God to help us to look more like Him as we live out our life. We cannot do this in our own strength, we need His strength. We should also recognize what God hates and we should hate it as well. Scripture doesn’t say to hate those who do the things God hates. But, we should hate our own sin enough to confess it and turn from it.
