Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill
Biography
Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill is an author and retired minister who has helped thousands of people.
He was ordained by the United Church of Canada in May 1980 and served congregations in Nova Scotia and Ontario before spending the last 24 years of his ministry providing spiritual care to hospice patients and their families in FL and MA. He retired in 2015 to care for his beloved, now late wife Robin who had become afflicted with early-onset Alzheimer’s.
Postill holds a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University, Sudbury, a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel College, Toronto, and a Doctor of Ministry from Boston University.
With his advanced clinical training, he became Board Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and served four years as the APC State Representative of Massachusetts. He has extensive expertise in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and end-of-life health care ethics.
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he led a CISM team from Naples, Florida to New York City to provide support for NYPD personnel. He also served a decade as the Ethics Committee Chair of the Hospice & Palliative Care Federation of Massachusetts and offered end-of-life ethics workshops throughout MA.
Prior to becoming an ordained minister, Postill’s life felt meaningless and he aimlessly drifted from such jobs as nickel miner and security guard. A college dropout in his 20’s, he battled addictions to alcohol and Valium, frequently took LSD and smoked marijuana, and had two run-ins with the law before an astonishing call to the ministry and the bountiful blessings which quickly followed gave him a desperately-needed second chance and saved his life.
Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill resides in Boston, Massachusetts. Please visit www.gordonpostill.com to learn more.
“Postill reflects on his journey from a life of dissipation to one of spiritual purpose in this debut memoir…as an account of a journey from self-indulgence to religious meaning, it is impressive and inspiring…He relates his remembrance, dotted with black-and-white photos of himself and loved ones, with admirable, confessional candor in a breezily anecdotal style… an engaging personal reflection on a transformed life.”

he's the multi-talented author, Ron Singerton - call him at 951-849-3870
he's been winning all sorts of rave reviews for his current best-seller,
"A Cherry Blossom in Winter"--it was given the Goethe First Place Award
for historical fiction in 2017 by the Chanticleer book review company
first, Ron, tell us about the books you wrote before "Cherry Blossom"--you scored
quite a bit of success and the books helped pave the way for a fabulous career
in the world of literature
also, fill us in on your colorful background--where were you reared, the schools
you attended and what really sparked your careers...also your work as an artist,
with artwork in glass, stone, paint and bronze sold and displayed online, in galleries
and numerous art shows--wow!
if you don't mind, read the two paragraphs that entice us on the back cover of
"A Cherry Blossom in Winter"
how different are you from other historical novelists? are most of your books
mostly fiction, meaning the characters and settings (locales)--what's real?
with this book you really fascinated readers with the turn of the 20th century history
dealing with the opulence for the elite, militarism, anti-Semitism, expansion and the trans-Siberian
railway--wowee!
why did you pick the setting of the Japanese/Russian war (1905-06) as the real background for
this book?...so many of us still have a lot to learn about that conflict and its aftermath--an interesting
study of Russian and Japanese navies, battleships and admirals, among other fascinating highlights
of course, we'd like to know about the sequel, "A Blossom in the Ashes," which takes place in the
Pacific, leading to World War II and Japan's participation in that war...when will this novel hit the market?
And how long did it take you to write this one?
what about a movie for any of your books and are there any visual possibilities in the works?
where can our listeners buy your books?
and what is your website?
it's been quite interesting having you as a guest and we wish you further success...we must
have you back soon to hear more of your extraordinary career...best wishes always from all

FDA APPROVES NEW TREATMENT FOR WET AMD, A LEADING CAUSE OF VISION LOSS
It's estimated by next year, 1.5 to 1.75 million people in the US will be living with WET AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION (wet AMD). It's a leading cause of vision loss and a rapidly growing public health concern.[1-3]
It can start with your vision becoming distorted. It’s harder to see objects clearly.[4] If allowed to progress, it could lead to complete loss of central vision, leaving you unable to read, drive or even recognize familiar faces.[5]
Novartis has just received FDA approval of a new treatment that has the potential to help people affected by wet AMD maintain their vision.
Dr. Peter Kaiser, Director of the Cole Center for Ocular Research and Evaluation and Professor of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic, knows what patients and their families go through with this disease. He is available to answer your questions and to discuss:
How wet AMD robs people of precious sight and impacts millions of lives
Ways to detect wet AMD
New treatment option for wet AMD
Resources to help people cope with this condition
