| We Have Got To Stop Creating Our Lives With $5 Energy | 24 Jun 2024 | 00:36:24 | |
Hey, hey! Today is a "rewind" episode that originally aired back in 2022. As someone who strongly believes in the power of an abundant mindset (versus poverty/scarcity based beliefs) i wanted to share this gem of an episode again as a reminder that we can create the lives we want. Now, I guess I need to say this...obviously, we still face strong systemic oppression. So I'm not saying that we can control every outcome. What I am saying though, is that the mindset (and energy) we hold can be a powerful way for us to get into the flow of the lives we deserve. | Self-Soothing To Be Less Anxious While Working In Corporate America | 09 May 2022 | 00:32:53
Hey, girl, hey! Recently, right as I was hopping off of an Instagram Live a young lady asked me about self-soothing. I wasn't able to discuss it then, so thought the podcast would be an excellent place to provide some insight. In this episode I talk about what self-soothing is, why I feel that it in some cases it's a band-aid fix (but definitely a tool for our self-care tool kits) and also some ways to do it to bring down stress levels and anxiety. | 5 Things I Wish That I Knew While Battling Depression | 02 May 2022 | 00:35:25
In this episode I'm sharing five things that I wish I knew years ago when I battled depression. The Mayo Clinic defines depression as a mood disorder that that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Causes of depression include abuse, serious illnesses, personal problems and even genes with women being twice as likely as men to be depressed. (WebMD) According to Hopkins Medicine, approximately 26% of Americans suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. That is about 1 out of every 4 adults. My hope is that this episode, and my story, help you or someone you know to understand that if you've ever experienced depression, anxiety, sadness or uncertainty, you are not alone. | Story Time: I Tried Fixing Myself Because I Thought I Was Broken But Instead I Became Addicted To Self-Help | 18 Apr 2022 | 00:18:59
I used to believe that self-care (specifically through self-help and personal development) was a cure for how broken, unworthy and damaged I believed myself to be. I was addicted to any and everything self-help but would never take the time to implement anything I learned. If this sounds like you, I want you to know that you aren't broken.
