BPR | Sandwich Talk (with Snick and Snack)22 août 202600:28:09

Today on Bit Public Radio, hosts Snick and Snack tackle the questions nobody else in public radio has been brave enough—or hungry enough—to answer.

Is a hamburger a sandwich? Are French fries ever acceptable inside one? Does accepting a free sandwich with double bacon and a pickle create a romantic obligation? And when a sandwich shop asks if you want it "their way," just who the hell put them in charge?

Inspired by their considerably more successful cousins in automotive broadcasting, Snick and Snack open the phone lines to sandwich eaters across the globe seeking expert guidance on bread, fillings, condiments, relationships, and several problems that probably should have been directed to licensed professionals.

Callers include a Seattle grunge survivor whose sandwich habits are threatening his marriage, a Long Island fitness influencer facing an ethically complicated amount of free bacon, a Pittsburgh woman fighting the tyranny of French fries, an angry New Jersey man demanding to know exactly what "fresh" means, and a French woman whose devotion to croissants raises legitimate concerns about her husband's life expectancy.

There are also Dagwoods, tacos, questionable romantic metaphors, the culinary oppression known as "Mike's Way," and a surprisingly useful tip involving mayonnaise and grilled bread.

Sandwiches were discussed. Advice was given. Relationships were endangered. Condiments remained optional.

Apologies

Jersey Mike's, Primanti Bros., French people, Pittsburgh coal miners, Seattle grunge musicians, Kurt Cobain, Long Island delis, fitness influencers, cardiologists, croissants, Dagwood Bumstead, Blondie, Debbie Harry, Pearl Bailey, chicken salad, pimentos, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Chinese restaurants, hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, tortas, French fries, mayonnaise, mustard, bacon, pickles, people named Mike, anyone currently eating in bed, anyone who has ever accepted free bacon without understanding the emotional consequences, and the entire nation of France.

Shut Up Gail - Bobby Smith | Ep 1708 août 202600:17:36
Bobby Smith | Upstage Comedy Lounge

What do stand-up comedy, defensive driving school, Taco Bell, tax anxiety, and cheap hiking dates have in common?

Bobby Smith, apparently.

In this episode, Gail sits down with Bobby Smith, stand-up comic, comedy instructor, driving-school owner, and owner of San Antonio's Upstage Comedy Lounge, to talk about the strange collection of turns that built his career and the community that ultimately helped keep his comedy club alive.

Bobby reveals that one of his earliest comedy training grounds was defensive driving school, where people with traffic tickets provided every comedian's dream: a captive audience that was legally required to stay.

He also gets candid about the much less funny side of owning an independent comedy club: inventory, taxes, operating a bar, learning things the hard way, and the moment he was ready to close Upstage for good. Then something happened: the comedy community showed up.

From there, Bobby and Gail tackle whether funny can actually be taught, why authenticity matters more than forcing a punchline, and what stand-ups and improvisers might learn from each other.

Naturally, this eventually leads to hiking, dating economics, sparkling water, Taco Bell, Hawaiian escape plans, restaurant discoveries, wrinkled clothing... and Gail briefly comparing dating to buying real estate.

As one does.

👀 What You'll Definitely Not See Coming:

A comedy career launched with speeding tickets.
Bobby's father employing an unconventional job-placement strategy.
The financial realities of making people laugh while simultaneously selling them drinks.
A surprisingly thoughtful stand-up vs. improv summit.
The phrase "cheap date" taking Gail somewhere completely different.
And rapid-fire questions that, once again, prove Gail does not fully understand the meaning of rapid-fire.

About Bobby Smith

Bobby Smith is a stand-up comedian, instructor, entrepreneur, and owner of Upstage Comedy Lounge in San Antonio, Texas.

Through performing, teaching, producing, and running Upstage, Bobby has helped create a home for comedians while building connections across San Antonio's stand-up and improv communities. His approach to teaching focuses less on teaching people to be funny and more on helping performers become comfortable, authentic, and able to recognize the comedy already hiding inside their own stories.

His philosophy?

👉 You can't teach somebody to be funny.

But apparently, you can teach comedy to a room full of people who got speeding tickets.

And sometimes, when running a comedy club becomes overwhelming and you're ready to lock the doors for good, your community reminds you why you opened them in the first place.

Shut Up Gail | Rev. Justice Smythe08 juil. 202600:15:35
Guest: Reverend Justice Smythe (Samples of Sin)

What happens when a reverend starts a podcast dedicated to listening to "sinful music" so you don't have to?

Complications.

In this episode, Gail sits down with the very reverend Justice Smythe, chairman of the River Creek Family Values Coalition, minister, moral watchdog, and host of the short-lived podcast Samples of Sin, where he reviewed music he believed decent people should avoid.

Justice's philosophy?

👉 Sometimes you must confront temptation… for research purposes.

Also:

👉 Apparently six episodes were enough.

Together, Gail and Justice unpack the mysterious end of Samples of Sin, the emotional hazards of "investigating" sinful artists, and why some music started raising questions Justice may not have been prepared to answer.

There are conversations about marriage. There are discussions about performance, honesty, suspiciously fashionable clothing, and the dangers of spending too much time reflecting at "the manhole."

There is a rapid-fire round that becomes increasingly concerning.

👀 What You'll Definitely Not See Coming:
A personal trainer named Pete.
A conversation that gets unexpectedly personal.
And a moment where Gail may or may not push things… too far.

Shut Up Gail - Bo Knox | Ep 1508 juin 202600:16:01

Guest: Bo Knox (Off the Eaten Path)

What if food criticism was less Michelin stars… and more emotional-support gas station?

In this episode, Gail sits down with Bo Knox — pilot, podcaster, accidental romantic, and co-host of Off the Eaten Path, a food show dedicated to overlooked restaurants, bowling alley pizza, suspicious strip mall gems, gas station delicacies, and the kind of meals Yelp usually forgets to mention.

Bo's philosophy?
👉 Sometimes the best food comes from the places nobody expects.

Also:
👉 Never trust a robot with a hamburger.

Together, Gail and Bo unpack risky plane purchases, food with emotional backstories, hotel review disputes, gas station meat sticks, six marriages (and six divorces) with the same woman, and the complicated emotional logistics of co-hosting a podcast with your ex-wife.

There are food opinions. There are relationship revelations. There is a rapid-fire round that becomes unexpectedly sincere.

👀 What You'll Definitely Not See Coming:
A Baptist church deviled egg debate.
A suspiciously emotional conversation about catfish.
The gas station delicacy known only as The Red Dragon.
A mall-related yelling session.
And the moment Bo accidentally reveals he may have preferred Beth's sister.

About Bo Knox

Bo Knox is the host of Off the Eaten Path, a proudly unpretentious food podcast celebrating overlooked restaurants, gas stations, roadside diners, bowling alley pizza, and hidden gems that deserve more attention.

Alongside his ex-wife and co-host Beth, Bo travels in search of memorable meals, surprising stories, and proof that sometimes the best food comes from the least expected places.

His focus:
👉 Great food deserves a story — and sometimes the story tastes even better than the sandwich.

Shut Up Gail - Michael & Jeremy | Ep 1408 mai 202600:16:56

Guest: Michael & Jeremy (Steal Your Podcast)

What if your podcast wasn't stolen… it was just aggressively borrowed by two cousin-friends from the MJSY-verse?

In this episode, Gail sits down with Michael and Jeremy — lifelong comedy partners, cousin-friends, and the hosts of Michael and Jeremy Steal Your Podcast, which is less a title and more a warning label.

Michael and Jeremy's big idea?
👉 Sometimes the funniest comedy rule isn't "yes, and"…
it's "No, you're weird. Shut up."

Which is… rude. And also, unfortunately, effective.

Together, Gail, Michael, and Jeremy unpack childhood cassette tape comedy, lawnmower race commentary, PodFest tea, podcast theft, confusing family trees, aggressive compliments, and the strange emotional intimacy of yelling "Shut up, Gail" directly into a microphone.

There are impressions. There are questionable revelations. There is a rapid-fire round that gets weird almost immediately.

👀 What You'll Definitely Not See Coming:
A guest appearance by "Jordan Peterson."
A Dr. Ruth detour.
A Christian podcast pitch gone spiritually sideways.
And a yelling session that somehow turns into a compliment sandwich with brass knuckles.

About Michael & Jeremy

Michael and Jeremy are the hosts of Michael and Jeremy Steal Your Podcast, a comedy podcast built on lifelong friendship, family chaos, improv, impressions, and the noble art of taking someone else's podcast premise and making it significantly stupider.

With nearly 200 episodes, they continue to expand the MJSY-verse one stolen podcast at a time.

Shut Up Gail - Mayor Joe LaRussa | Ep 1308 avr. 202600:17:01
Mayor + Mindset  | Running Your House Like a High-Performing Team Guest: Joe LaRussa

What if the chaos in your home isn't random…
it's just bad leadership?

In this episode, Gail sits down with Joe LaRussa — small-city mayor, leadership coach, and the only person who might look at your household and think, "This needs a mission statement."

Joe's big idea?
👉 You already have the skills to run your life better… you're just not using them at home.

Which is… inconvenient.

Together, Gail and Joe unpack what happens when you stop treating your home like a recovery zone from work and start treating it like something worth actually leading.

There are insights. There are laughs. There are a few moments where Gail realizes things about herself in real time.

And yes…
someone yells.

🎯 In This Episode:

• Why we tolerate things at home we'd never accept at work
• The mindset shift that changes everything (and slightly ruins your excuses)
• How leadership actually shows up in everyday decisions
• What happens when you bring structure into emotional spaces
• The surprising connection between strong households and stronger communities

👀 What You'll Definitely Not See Coming:

A mayor.
A mindset shift.
And a moment that perfectly captures what this show is all about.

(No spoilers. You'll know it when you hear it.)

About Joe LaRussa

Joe LaRussa is the mayor of Farmington, Michigan and the founder of Homegrown Leadership, where he helps parents and partners turn their households into high-performing teams.

His focus:
👉 Leadership matters most in the four walls you live in.

Shut Up Gail - Ohio's Freddie Simone | Ep 1108 févr. 202600:14:17
Ohio Raised. Truth Bomb Fed. Enlightened as Hell.

Guest: Freddie Simone (Ohio's own Inlightened Ediot™)

What happens when Gail sits down with a comedian who proudly calls herself an Enlightened Idiot—with the E and I intentionally swapped? You get a conversation that's equal parts stand-up set, philosophy lecture, and spiritual mic drop.

Fresh off their PodFest 2026 meet-cute, Gail welcomes Freddie Simone, creator of Foxy Freddy Entertainment, a performer who delivers wisdom with bite, humor with heart, and truth bombs with impeccable timing. Freddie believes enlightenment doesn't require silence, softness, or spellcheck, and she makes a compelling case that laughter might be the fastest route to clarity.

This episode dives into:

  • Why being smart and dumb at the same time might be the most honest way to live
  • How comedy can sit in discomfort without losing the laugh
  • The art of delivery (because you can say almost anything… if you say it right)
  • Why play, joy, and feeding your inner child aren't optional—they're survival tools
  • And why sometimes the most enlightened advice is simply: "Shut the f* up."**

It's bold. It's funny. It's surprisingly tender.
Like Freddie herself—crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside.

Best Line Pull-Quotes

"We're all smart, but we're dumb, okay?"

"Shocking but sweet. Sweet and shocking—that's the brand."

"The world would be better if people just shut the f*** up."

(Honorable mention to the turkey pesto sandwich discourse, which somehow became a spiritual metaphor.)

Rapid-Fire Highlights
  • Preferred delivery system: Truth bombs (no glitter, please)

  • Carnival ride name: The Motaco Mixer

  • Enlightenment vs. sandwich: Jury's out—but toast the bread, and we'll talk

Final Word

This episode is a reminder that wisdom doesn't have to whisper; sometimes it laughs loudly, swears a little, and tells you exactly what you didn't know you needed to hear.

And yes.
Freddie absolutely tells Gail to shut up.

Repeatedly. 💖

Shut Up Gail - Margot Escott | Ep 1008 janv. 202600:10:57
🎧 SHUT UP GAIL – Episode 11 Play Is Not Optional (with Margo Escott)

Play is not a reward.
It's not a break.
It's not something you "get back to" when life calms down.

According to Margo Escott, play is essential — and she's been proving it since the 1970s.

In this Season 2 premiere of Shut Up Gail, Gail sits down with Margo Escott: psychotherapist, New Games referee, improv teacher, and lifelong champion of joy. What unfolds is a grounded, hilarious, deeply human conversation about laughter, resilience, Parkinson's, anxiety, failure, and why yelling "TA‑DA!" at your mistakes might actually change your life.

🧠 What We Talk About
  • Why play isn't optional, for kids or adults

  • How improv became a powerful therapeutic tool

  • Using play with people living with Parkinson's (and their care partners)

  • Why CBT + mindfulness + improv is a secret weapon for anxiety

  • The radical idea that there are no mistakes

  • Pain vs. suffering — and how presence loosens suffering's grip

  • Gibberish dinnertime (yes, really)

💬 Best Lines

"There are no mistakes. Everything you do is meant to happen."
"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional."
"Play helps us get out of our heads — and back into being human."

🎭 The Yelling (Mandatory)

Margo delivers not one, not two, but multiple heartfelt, joyful, and slightly mischievous renditions of:

"Shut up, Gail."
Because professionals commit to the bit.

💥 Why This Episode Matters

This isn't just an interview — it's permission.
Permission to play.
Permission to fail loudly.
Permission to laugh in the middle of hard things.

And permission to tell Gail to shut up.

SHUT UP GAIL w Jay Sukow - Bonus Double Episode/Season Finale08 déc. 202500:34:22

🎙️ Shut Up, Gail – Season Finale: "Yes, And Your Way to World Domination"
Guest: Jay Sukow
Host: Gail Shepherd (Not Like Cher, but kinda like Cher)

Improv legend Jay Sukow drops into Gail's virtual lair to talk shop, shout affirmations, mispronounce "spatula," and accidentally invent the word "fyrk." If you've ever wondered whether failure is your superpower, or if you should microwave fish at work (spoiler: don't), this episode is your new religion.

Get ready for:

🎭 The Renaissance of Improv: Jay reflects on the early days of doing scenes with 12 nerds in a rec center and how improv went from "misfit hobby" to "mandatory corporate training."

📉 Failing Spectacularly: Why bombing is beautiful, and how to embrace every weird moment like you meant to do it all along.

🧠 Tools Not Rules: The improv mantra that might save your life—or at least your next Zoom meeting.

🔥 Rapid-Fire Madness: Gail grills Jay on late-night shows, Beastie Boys, Brave Spaces, and… boardroom jams vs. Chicago dive bars.

💥 Plus:

-Improv for four-year-olds and vintage performers
-Side-mouth Cher impression
-A surprise Shakespeare reference (because Gail has a degree)
-"Shut Up, Gail" yelled with emotionally intelligent rage
-Winslow the British assistant (who definitely ghosted Jay)

🎧 Best Lines:

  • "You're in control of your character. Stop acting like your character owns you."

  • "We don't need rules. We need a fyrk."

  • "Failure is the gift. The comedy is in the mess."

🛑 WARNING: This episode contains high-level improv geekery, joy, and at least two sincere metaphors involving bunting.

SHUT UP GAIL – Paul from OSLO | Ep 808 nov. 202500:14:00

🎙️ SHUT UP GAIL – Ep. 8: "From Cult to Carnival" with Paul Omarr
This is the eighth installment of Bit Behind the Scenes (a.k.a. Shut Up Gail).

Listen, follow, rate, and share... PLEASE and THANK YOU!

This month, Gail heads to Oslo for a deeply human (and surprisingly funny) conversation with Paul  — a Norwegian comedian, scholar, and improv performer whose journey from cult survivor to carnival-level creative proves that humor and healing can share the same stage.

From growing up in a strict congregation to discovering freedom in the unpredictable world of improv, Paul turns personal history into powerful storytelling — with warmth, self-awareness, and the occasional spreadsheet.

🧠 In This Episode:
✨ How growing up in a "cult" shaped Paul's understanding of language, leadership, and laughter
🎭 Why improv became his portal to autonomy and self-expression

Shut Up Gail - Thea Marie | Ep 708 oct. 202500:14:43
🎙️ SHUT UP GAIL – Ep. 7: "Cats, Clapbacks, and Contrasts" with Thea Marie Thorkildsen

This is the fourth installment of the Women of BIT.

Listen, follow, rate, and share... PLEASE and THANK YOU!

This month on Bit Behind the Scenes (a.k.a. SHUT UP GAIL), Gail gets philosophical, improv-sical, and mildly feline-ical with Norwegian multi-hyphenate Thea Marie Thorkildsen—a political scientist turned stand-up comic, improv rebel, and self-declared curator of "Cat of the Day" (even though it's weekly).

🧠 In This Episode:
  • 🏛️ How nine years of political science, psychology, and history shape Thea's comedic instincts

  • 🎭 Why breaking the "Yes, and" rule might make you a better improviser

  • 🐱 What neighborhood cats really think of Thea's stand-up (spoiler: it's "meow")

  • 👏 The story behind her improv group The Clap (yes, that's what it's called, and no, not for that reason)

  • 🎤 Performing solo at Oslo Improv Festival and 121 times at Edinburgh Fringe (!)

⚡ Rapid-Fire Round Includes:
  • Regression analysis on improv + stand-up combos

  • UCB vs. Second City for first dates

  • National Cat Day vs. Talk Like a Pirate Day (cat supremacy confirmed)

  • Spanish-language improv show titles and fringe audience chaos

💬 Quotable Moments:

"Improv taught me you can break the rules—if you know the rules."
"My cat critics would just say… 'meow.'"
"Gail, you are weird and cool, so shut up, please?"

🇳🇴 Bonus Bits:
  • Thea's guide to navigating Norway with just a "plastic card"

  • Gail's journey into Duolingo Norwegian

  • A teaser for the gang's upcoming Norway Improv Festival takeover

Samples of Sin - Velvet Underground | Ep 501 juin 202500:33:17

The fifth episode warns listeners not to listen to Velvet Underground's White Light White Heat.

Gary Griswold, from River Creek Gas & Charcoal, joins Rev. Justice Smythe to recall that unlike most people who listened to White Light White Heat, Gary did not start a band -- but he did start a gas grill dealership. Gary and Justice review all six of the album's very sinful tracks, emphasizing the importance of listeners devotedly not listening to any of them, and Justice casually mentions that he likes to dress up sometimes.

PodCLASS 3 | Monoscene - Pretty Flower12 mai 202500:48:56

Join Billy Merritt and his global gang of improvisers as he continues his delightfully chaotic journey through the many flavors of longform improv.

Today's focus: PRETTY FLOWER — also known as Spokane, or "that thing that's kind of like Lost meets Marty meets at a haunted pie shop."

Billy starts by tracing the roots of this character-driven form, developed with the group Sentimental Lady and inspired by layered storytelling (think Lost, but with fewer smoke monsters and more apple jam).

The Pretty Flower starts with a single scenic mono scene—then "blooms" into supporting cutaways that explore character backstory, heighten stakes, or, sometimes, just celebrate a 74-pie menu.

🎭 In class, the students explore:

  • 🧺 A struggling family-run apple orchard turned fall tourist trap

  • 🥁 A post-championship hangover in a high school band room (with questionable closet storage decisions)

  • 🥧 A pristine retro diner trying to re-create a 1950s vibe for a mysterious couple who might actually be… ghosts?

Cut tos, cut backs, musical montages, and a possible mob-connected cleaner all show up in this episode full of bold initiations and gentle chaos.

As always, Billy keeps it structured just enough to find the funny—and the heart.

Today's students:

  • Hill Kane – San Antonio, Texas
  • Konrad Andrew - Saigon, Vietnam (today)
  • Amber Bellsdale – Washington, D.C.
  • Jason Luna - San Diego, CA (today)
  • Adam S. - Philadelphia, PA (King of Prussia)
  • Murphy McKew – Washington, D.C.
  • Luke Bovard – Berlin, Germany
Shut up Gail - Paul Vato | Ep 308 mai 202500:15:46

Sheeeeeeeee's Baaaaaa-aaaack!

This month, Gail interviews one of the two comedians responsible for creating Gail and making her "Podfest" famous.

As the story goes, during an improvised podcast set at the late-night Podfest '25 Comedy Showcase, Billy Merritt (Episode 1) and Paul Vato kept yelling at their producer Gail to stop interrupting them and to "shut up." All in character, of course, they are lovely guys who would never treat their producer that way.

Anywhoodles, "Gail" produces and edits the BIT's podcasts but steps out of the sound booth and onto the mic to bring listeners a behind-the-scenes look at BIT.

Paul Vato is a true Renaissance Man - he's an accomplished comedian (stand-up and improv), character actor, cigar entrepreneur, and even has his own NFT called "VATO COIN."

They cover a lot of ground so hold on to your butt, and enjoy!

Gail has a great season lined up, so come back on the 8th of each month for a new "snack-sized" episode of SHUT UP GAIL.

Samples of Sin - Scissor Sisters | Ep 401 mai 202500:30:53

For the fourth episode, local soccer hero Graham Truman joins Reverend Smythe to review the Scissor Sisters. Graham lived in the UK, where the Scissor Sisters found fame among the nation's arts and crafts enthusiasts.

Bringing personal experiences to bear on the album, Justice recalls feeling filthy but not exactly gorgeous, while Graham fondly recalls taking his mama out.  Exegesis of the gospel of Roger Waters is followed by an inquiry into which one's Pink, and an homage to the joys of friendship with Dorothy.

Podclass 2 | Monoscene - ROAD TRIP!!28 avr. 202500:59:15

Join Billy Merritt and his international bench of students as he expertly (and hilariously) guides them through specific iterations of long form improv.

Today's class is ROAD TRIP - a character-based monoscene.

Our players will be stuck inside a car* heading to a specific and important destination. Think "graduating members of the University of Fairfield, Connecticut's a cappella choir heading to Regionals in New York City." To make things fun, characters are developed over the set by being given GIFTS and answering QUESTIONS from their fellow travelers.

Billy leads the "amorphous blob" exercise. Just two blank slates giving each other interesting gifts within BIG INITIATIONS: Clean Parker, Strong Cologne Game, Smart Glasses, Fashionable Color Matches, First Alien Abduction, Captain's Hat, and so many more!

The class then plays "classic pairs."

We are_______________, going to ________________. YEAH!!!!!!!!

Then it's right on to seven people in a car going somewhere. Ergo, a group of accountants is off to visit a pillow factory.

Finally, the class does a campfire monoscene in the road trip form. As a group, they "gift" their way to figuring out who they are to each other and why they are on this trip; and then do another round of "gifting" to go a little deeper into the wants and characteristics of the gang.

You can HEAR how much fun the students are having giving and receiving these over-the-top gifts!

I promise, Billy brings sense and purpose to all of this.

Today's students (in order of "appearance"):

  • Adam S. - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Tyler Drew - Seattle, Washington
  • Hill Kane - San Antonio, Texas
  • Jason Luna - Los Angeles, California
  • Amber Bellsdale - Washington, D.C.
  • Murphy McKew - Washington, D.C.
  • Luke Bovard - Berlin, Germany

Shut Up Gail - Peter Miller | Ep 208 avr. 202500:15:16

Meet Gail!

Gail became "Podfest" famous when comedians Billy Merritt and Paul Vato kept yelling at her to stop interrupting them and to "shut up." All in character, of course, they are lovely guys who would never treat their producer that way.

Anywhoodles, "Gail" produces and edits the BIT's podcasts but steps out of the sound booth and onto the mic to bring listeners a behind-the-scenes look at BIT.

In episode two, Gail interviews Peter Miller, the guy responsible for BIT's fantasmic theme music. You'll learn about Little Kahunas, Pete's nicknaming proclivities, and why Pete would rather have a dog that sings than a dog that plays drums.

Sadly and unexpectedly, Peter Miller passed away only 11 days after this episode aired. His friends and family are so grateful to Gail for getting Pete to sid down for an interview and giving us some insights into his humor and heart. RIP - Rest in Pete.

Gail has a great season lined up, so come back on the 8th of each month for a new "snack-sized" episode of SHUT UP GAIL.

Samples of Sin - Liz Phair | Ep 301 avr. 202500:30:45

In Episode 3, Justice Smythe invites his old friend Blakeford O. Donovan to review Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville. Justice and Blakeford first met thirty-some years ago, at a Liz Phair show in a basement bar in Chicago. Justice was only there because he thought there was a religious service.

Despite its "canine language," Exile in Guyville finds emotional resonance with Justice, who knows the feeling of being an outsider, and Blakeford, who recalls his own libertine days. Justice mixes up the album's producer Brad Wood with the Brad Wood who starred in several adult films that Justice has never seen, while Blakeford waxes wise on monogamy and steel.

Shut Up Gail - Billy Merritt | Ep 108 mars 202500:15:49

Meet Gail!

Gail became "Podfest" famous when comedians Billy Merritt and Paul Vato kept yelling at her to stop interrupting them and to "shut up." All in-character, of course, they are lovely guys who would never treat their producer that way.

Anywhoodles, "Gail" produces and edits the BIT's podcasts, but is stepping out of the sound booth and onto the mic to bring listeners a behind-the-scenes look at BIT.

In this first episode, Gail interviews Billy Merritt about BIT's origin story and what he has learned over the past nine months. Billy shares his BIT dreams along with the worst advice he ever received.

Gail has a great season lined up, so come back on the 8th of each month for  new "snack-sized" episodes of SHUT UP GAIL.

COMING SOON!

Samples of Sin - Chappell Roan | Ep 201 mars 202500:34:23
From the creative innards of Konrad Andrew comes Samples of Sin: Warning listeners about sinful music, saving them from the ever-present risk of listening to fallen music. Why must the Devil have the best tunes? The Very Reverend Justice Smythe, chairman and chief prophylactic of the River Creek Family Values Coalition, is here to help.   In each episode, a special guest joins Justice Smythe. Justice and his guests are 100% guaranteed to be musical, cultural, and theological experts, not just making stuff up—that would be ungodly.

In our second episode, Justice Smythe invites his niece Melody Smythe to help him review Chappell Roan's album Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. Her name is Chappell, and she's from the same state as Rush Limbaugh and Burt Bacharach -- what could go wrong?

Justice admits to being gripped by an unholy spirit when the album's beat drops. Like Chappell Roan, he doesn't mind stoners (as per Deuteronomy 17:2). He does need some explanation of the album's liturgy, and ever-patient, ever-wise-beyond-her-years Melody uncomfortably explains.

Introducing Samples of Sin

Why must the Devil have the best tunes? The Very Reverend Justice Smythe, chairman and chief prophylactic of the River Creek Family Values Coalition, is here to help.   In each episode, a special guest joins Justice Smythe. Justice and his guests are 100% guaranteed to be musical-cultural-theological experts and not just making stuff up. That would be ungodly.

Welcome to the debut episode of Samples of Sin, where we sin, so you don't have to!   Justice Smythe is joined by weathered band roadie Montgomery Von Wildenfoort, or as he's known on the road, "Sparky." They discuss the album Pleased to Meet Me by a bunch of Minnesotan hooligans calling themselves "The Replacements." Are they seeking to replace church?   Despite the album's overwhelmingly sinful nature, it does at least redeem itself by reminding us that Jesus is a non-smoker. Sparky has a completely relevant, factual, and concise Paul Westerberg road story for every song.   Curious about Crokinole? bit.ly/CrokinoleWiki    Be sure to visit www.BITComedyNetwork.com to check out our other podcasts or to apply to the ensemble.   CAST
