Today on Bit Public Radio, hosts Snick and Snack tackle the questions nobody else in public radio has been brave enough—or hungry enough—to answer.
Is a hamburger a sandwich? Are French fries ever acceptable inside one? Does accepting a free sandwich with double bacon and a pickle create a romantic obligation? And when a sandwich shop asks if you want it "their way," just who the hell put them in charge?
Inspired by their considerably more successful cousins in automotive broadcasting, Snick and Snack open the phone lines to sandwich eaters across the globe seeking expert guidance on bread, fillings, condiments, relationships, and several problems that probably should have been directed to licensed professionals.
Callers include a Seattle grunge survivor whose sandwich habits are threatening his marriage, a Long Island fitness influencer facing an ethically complicated amount of free bacon, a Pittsburgh woman fighting the tyranny of French fries, an angry New Jersey man demanding to know exactly what "fresh" means, and a French woman whose devotion to croissants raises legitimate concerns about her husband's life expectancy.
There are also Dagwoods, tacos, questionable romantic metaphors, the culinary oppression known as "Mike's Way," and a surprisingly useful tip involving mayonnaise and grilled bread.
Sandwiches were discussed. Advice was given. Relationships were endangered. Condiments remained optional.
