Did you enjoy a little too much food and drink last night - and now you've got the gut troubles to prove it? Heavy stomach, nausea, sluggish bowels, heartburn?

 

No worries! In this episode I'll teach you 4 simple tips to feel better and get your metabolism and energy back on-track quickly.

This topic is super-relevant to our time in the calendar year: Thanksgiving, Christmas parties, holiday gatherings of all kinds. Evenings, filled with more wine, desserts, rich foods, dairy (extra cheese and butter, anyone?), meats, more inflammatory cooking oils, and even fried foods.

 

These tips are also helpful for anytime you may have unintentionally (or intentionally) eaten more than usual, and been left feeling heavy, sluggish, nauseas – directly afterwards, or even the next day.

 

I even used these tips last week, after eating out at a restaurant renowned for its fried chicken (whaat?). Needless to say, I felt terrible the following day. But, I had these tips up my sleeve, so I recovered quickly!

If You're Going to Drink Alcohol, Do it Like This

Enjoying a drink can be relaxing and fun. But doing it "incorrectly" may disrupt your hormones, sabotage your sleep, drain your energy, and contribute to weight gain. So, today I'll share simple, healthy tips on how to make the most of your drink - if you decide to drink alcohol. If not, props to you! Booze-free is a great way to go; even healthier in many ways.

 

Some people are floored when they see me enjoy an "adult" beverage. Like, "Wait, wait, wait... I thought you were Miss Perfect?!". This always makes me laugh a bit. Just because I am an Integrative Health Practitioner doesn't mean I'm "perfect" or that any of us needs to be. I think it is possible to have a healthy relationship with alcohol and enjoy it sparingly as part of what may bring you pleasure.

 

But as get further into my 40s - I am almost 43 years old now - I see many of my peers indulging to a point that it is disrupting their hormones, impeding deep sleep, contributing to anxiety and depression, and sabotaging their weight goals. This compels me to share a holistic view of how it could look, ideally, to enjoy alcohol, here and there.

 

Today, I'll share an Ayurvedic perspective on drinking. You'll have the opportunity to learn your dosha (your unique body-mind constitution!). Two-Ingredient Fall Elixir for Better BMs and Glowing Skin

Move over expensive superfood powders! There's a new (actually very ancient) 2-ingredient tea elixir in town, and it should be your go-to drink this Fall season. 

 

It’s Fall in the midwest! Temps are dropping – and our body’s needs are changing. But this drink is healing and anti-inflammatory to drink in whatever season you may happened to be listening. 

 

The yummy 2-ingredient drink I am going to tell you about in this episode has transformed my digestion – and that of so many clients. One client, who had loose, urgent stools (which suggested long-time inflammation in her gut) drank the "Pitta" version of this elixir, and after just 1.5 weeks, she began to have healthy formed stool, for the first time in years. No more urgency. No more burning. Just comfortable, healthy daily bowel movements.
