Caroline has a gentle yet strong presence and is an Adaptive and Restorative Yoga Teacher, a Physical Therapist Assistant and a Thai Massage Therapist. She specialises in working with people with severe disabilities such as quadraplegics, people recovering from strokes and seniors with mobility issues.

Caroline uses a blend of all of her trainings to help make yoga acessible for EVERYONE, and there is no one she cant help practice yoga. We talk all about her work, her trainings and how she helps people of all abilities gain the benefits of yoga.

Caroline is currently splitting her life between Corsica and Thailand and holds beautiful retreats in Bali and Europe throughout the year.

Her bio and how to contact and work with her are below.

I hope you enjoy the episode.

Caroline is a physical therapist assistant and yoga teacher with a decade of experience helping people heal through accessible yoga & movement.

Her love of yoga bloomed because of the physical and mental benefits she experienced. The way it helped her manage stress and anxiety through university was so meaningful that in 2016 she decided to dive deeper, completing a 450-hour Yoga Teacher Training. In this training, she discovered Yoga Therapy, which led her down many paths, exploring styles like Restorative Yoga, Adaptive Yoga, and Thai Yoga Massage.

She became a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2022 to learn more about physical therapy, anatomy, health conditions, and healing through movement.

Some of Caroline's students live with full paralysis from spinal cord injuries, partial paralysis from brain injuries, various neurological conditions, and orthopedic issues. She always finds a way to bring the practice to the person, tailoring it individually to their goals and intentions while understanding the complexity of their medical history.

She started Accessible Yoga Practices in 2018, an online community for older adults and people with injuries or disabilities, sharing ways yoga can be accessible and inclusive for anyone. She works with people online through 1:1 sessions, small groups, and courses on Therapeutic Yoga.

Born in the USA, Caroline currently splits her time between Ajaccio, Corsica and Chiang Mai, Thailand, working online and leading international yoga retreats for wellness practitioners. You can learn more about her and her offerings at www.accessibleyogapractices.com, or follow her on Facebook or Instagram @accessible.yoga.practices.

Season 2 Episode 9: Explaining The Holistic And Healing powers of Ayurveda & Functional Medicine with Garima Pandey04 Mar 202601:18:58

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I get to have a lovely conversation with my friend and Ayurvedic Doctor Garima Pandey, all about Ayurveda and functional medicine and how a blend of the two is such a powerful combination in terms of holistic health.

Garima was recommended to me by a friend on my first trip to India in 2020. I was struggling hard in an abusive relationship and my IBS on that trip hit new levels of debilitation and left me curled up in severe pain in my hotel room with friends bringing me plain boiled rice and bananas for several days.

Meeting Garima changed my life. She taught me all about holistic Ayurvedic medicine and root cause medicine. Her soft and caring manner made me feel so seen and heard and her approach was nurturing and nourishing. I will always be so grateful to her for ending my cycle of severe stomach cramps and chronic diarrohea that heightened my anxiety, left me feeling helpless, depressed and isolated and left my body severely depleted and run down. It also left me with a negative relationship with a body that I couldnt understand and was angry with for letting me down.

Garima is an incredible woman, and a wealth of wisdom and knowledge blending ancient and modern medicine together in a perfect synergy.

If you are struggling with a health concern and have tried everything else, Garima is the person you need to contact. (please see below)

I hope you enjoy this first of many conversations with beautiful Garima.

Episode 8: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once: The Infinite Possibility Of You18 Jan 202600:31:18

Send us Fan Mail

Hi everyone, in this episode I share my musings around the brilliant 2022 Michelle Yeoh film: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. It ties in so beautifully with the yogic concepts of self, ego, buddhi and divine love, and brilliantly and weirdly! shows how we can all be trapped by our limiting thoughts, behaviours and self concepts, and how if we are not careful this can turn to darkness. Our power for expansion if we choose to walk towards increasing self awareness and healing, is infinite. I didnt say it was easy, but it is possible.

I hope you enjoy the episode.

Season 2 Episode 5 Part 3: Exploring The Eight Limbs Of yoga With Katja Patel08 Jan 202601:03:37

Send us Fan Mail

This is the final installment in the amazing conversation I had with one of my teachers the lovely Katja Patel. In this last part we look at the final three limbs: Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi.

These final 4 limbs (incluidng Pratyahara) are all concerned with the mind and stages of meditation withinn your practice. They guide us in how to train the mind to focus, develop our meditation practice and elevate our consciousness to help us move towards Samadhi- oneness, union, enlightenment or a "super conscious" state.

Katja and I are not experts but we love to explore these concepts in terms of what they mean for us in the modern world, their practical application and how they can help us in our practice. I really hope you enjoy the episode. Please note that Katja's sound qulaity is a bit off in this one so please bear with us. Thank You

Episode 5 Part 2: The Eight Limbs Of Yoga With Katja Patel 04 Dec 202500:36:27

Send us Fan Mail

In this second part of my lovely conversation with Katja, we continue looking at the Eight Limbs of Yoga. We continue to discuss our interpretations of what they mean and how we can  apply them to our practice and modern, everyday life.

We begin our conversation with a brief look at Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, and I reference my copy which is translated and commentaried by Swami Satchidananda. Please see the link below.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yoga-Sutras-Patanjali-Swami-Satchidananda/dp/1938477073

We then have a recap of the first 3 limbs we discussed in Part 1: Yama & Niyama, Asana, Pranayama,  and then we fturn our focus back on Pratyahara the 4th Limb.

Its a conversation full of what the key parts of a full yoga practice are and how they are still as powerful and relevant today to our holistic health, and development of our consciousness today as they have ever been. I really hope you enjoy it.

The last part of our conversation will follow shortly, in part 3.

Episode 5 Part 1: Exploring The Eight limbs of Yoga With Katja Patel17 Nov 202501:19:41

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I'm joined again by my lovely Yoga teacher Katja Patel to begin exploring The Eight Limbs of Yoga. We thought we might be able to summarise each of the limbs within one episode but we definitely bit off more than we could chew here, and once we got going we found ourselves diving deeply into the many layers, meanings, practical applications and interpretations of each of the limbs.

The Eight Limbs were recorded in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras as a systematised approach to a yoga practice and they describe each of the interrelating and enmeshed "brances" of Hatha Yoga. Each branch or limb is part of a holistic system so one should not be practiced without the others in some form.

Episode 4: A Conversation On Death & Loss03 Nov 202500:48:22

Send us Fan Mail

In this sensitive epiosde I talk about a subject that I feel is still pretty taboo in our western culture. With or without the framework of religion, many people in our society are afraid to talk about death and will go out of their way to avoid it. Whilst other cultures around the world openly accept death as an integral part of lifes miraculous cycle, and in so doing create more community and support for those that are dying and grieving. I talk all around this issues and expplore how our yoga practice can help us grieve, create community and perhaps begin to shift our perpectives of life and death and the material world versus the spiritual world.

In this episode I mentioned this amazing Ram Dass Podcast-you can listen here:

Episode 3: What Does It Mean To Retreat?21 Oct 202500:29:29

Send us Fan Mail

Having just been on a recent Shamanic retreat, and thinking about what that really means to go on retreat, I spend this episode exploring what a retreat is and what it can offer us in terms of experience and introspection, community and self expression. I also ask the question: "Do we really need to spend thousands of pounds flying half way around the world to retreat or can we create an effective retreat space right here at home?"

I hope you enjoy.

Epiosde 2: The Yamas & Niyamas: A Beautiful Code To Live By22 Sep 202500:27:43

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I look at one of the 8 limbs or integral parts of a yoga practice that is often overlooked: The Yamas and Niyamas. These beautiful codes of conduct were talked about by Patanjali some 5 or 6 thousand years ago and are as relevant today as they have ever been.

I love how practical and accessible they are and how all of us can start implementing them straight away. They really are a beautiful code to live by and become a better human being.

I reference my favourite yoga book throughout this episode:

The heart Of Yoga

Developing A Personal Practice by T.K.V Desikachar.

Season 2 Episode 1: From Ego & Ambition To Acceptance & Surrender10 Sep 202500:27:43

Send us Fan Mail

Hello everyone, Im super happy to be back with a new season of the podcast. Today Im talking about how ego and ambition can show up for all of us in our practice and how to move away from the ego towards a practice of self acceptance, self love and surrender.  This of course is not easy and I talk about how, with time, yoga can really begin to highlight for each of us the nature of our own internal negative narratives and how we can begin to change these through the practice of self acceptance, non-judgment and self love. Its a lifetimes work but the benefits are miraculous.

Wishing you love and light,

Season 3 Episode 3: The Body Knows A conversation with Somatic Therapist And Philosopher Tamara (Cuchira) Levinson13 Jul 202601:45:07

Send us Fan Mail

This is one of my top converstaions so far.

Tamara aka Cuchira is a one of a kind person who's work is so original and so NEEDED at this time. Our conversation begins with her childhood as an olympic gymnast, her career as a professional dancer and choreographer working with the likes of Madonna, to what she really values the most which is her work helping bring people back to the core of who they really are as human beings. We talk about life and death and her husbands Rubens miraculous recovery after a sudden life threatening illness, and practical ways in which we can all begin to listen to the body more, to help us regulate, heal and grow.

I felt so expanded and on such a beautiful high after this conversation for days on end, its conversations like this that I started this podcast for. There are many ways to work with Tamara online and in person and she has a beautiful retreat in Mexico coming up in November, please scroll down to the bottom for all the links and contact info.

Tamara's Bio:

 Tamara “Cuchira” Levinson

It all began in 1976, when Tamara was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to loving, extraordinary parents who made space for her artistry and expression to unfold without interference, only support. This is where the work was first born. Her earliest memory is at age five, alone in her room, moving, sounding, expressing the ancestral pain she carried into this world through her body, along with any residual energies she absorbed. For young Tamara, somatic therapy had no name, nor had she been taught to do it, it was innate. And because there was no conditioning that shamed her for this instinctive release, she continued throughout her entire life, now 50 years in. It became her life’s work. Not from a book or a school, but from the classroom of life.

This explains much of Tamara’s accomplishments; all born from passion, raw talent, and an unmatched discipline learned from her immigrant parents, determined to create a comfortable life for their family in the United States of America.

At fifteen, the American dream materialized when she qualified for the 1992 Olympic Games in rhythmic gymnastics. Tamara still holds the American record for the highest placement ever achieved in a non‑boycotted World Championships or Olympic Games. After a successful athletic career, she retired at nineteen and moved to New York City to become a professional dancer.

This was a new world in every way; from how her body was trained to move, to finally having the chance to discover herself as a human being. Dance opened her mind to how movement could become the paintbrush of her internal world. And New York City gave her the freedom to explore herself without rules or expectations. Immersed in the vogue and underground dance scene of the 1990s, Tamara was breathing the artistry and raw expression she had channeled as that five‑year‑old wilding out in her room.

That energy manifested into dancing alongside Madonna on three world tours, and with pop artists such as Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Ricky Martin, and more. She helped create a Broadway show based on Bob Dylan’s music with the legendary Twyla Tharp, curated performance art pieces throughout the city, and eventually felt her Argentine roots rise again when off‑Broadway called. She joined the immersive, aerial, avant‑garde theatre group ‘De La Guarda’ and ‘Fuerzabruta’, where she scaled walls to strobe lighting and rave music, bungee-jumped off ceiling rafters, body‑slammed and slid wildly across a massive mylar pool suspended above the audience’s heads. One could say Tamara lived it all without apology.

She later spent time in Los Angeles, expanding her dance and choreography career into television, stage, music videos, and film; including choreographing the aerial scenes with Zendaya and Hugh Jackman in ‘The Greatest Showman’.

Yet even with a dream résumé, something was missing; that five‑year‑old who longed for primitive, raw emotional expression. This led her to begin teaching dance from an emotive point of view. But it wasn’t as simple as asking dancers to retreat from choreography and feel; that felt too frightening for many. So she entered through YogaDance: a creation born during her yoga teacher training, when she was asked to design a sequence. When she demonstrated it, she was told she couldn’t connect two postures with such creative, flowing transitions. YogaDance took off, and Tamara taught it at festivals and studios around the world.

Naturally, it evolved into what later became MovMEANT; long before somatic therapy was widely known, when people called her “the crazy dancing lady.” They arrived curious and left transformed. That shift became the trajectory in MovMEANT: somatic activation classes that inspired aliveness. But in time, Tamara noticed that the lack of integration left her students feeling abandoned after ‘getting somatically high’ of the classes. And by then, she had been working through her own wounds and traumas, just as she had as a little girl, calling something from deep within. She knew, something deeper was calling. As usual, she followed her instincts without hesitation.

Thus, a private practice emerged from her students’ need to integrate the deep work done in her classes. And again, the work deepened : beyond body, beyond narrative — into the realms of trauma work, emotional intelligence, shadow work, life‑doula guidance, and somatic philosophy.

Not much has changed from the five‑year‑old channeling ancient, primitive energy in her bedroom, to the adult who now guides people toward that same source. The only difference is that now she has words for it. What makes Tamara’s work unique among somatic therapy or shadow‑work modalities is that it is not a method or a system — it is a God‑given talent she came to earth with, to help people free themselves and honor their authentic self. To help them realize that each person carries an innate gift longing to be seen and shared in this lifetime. Her work gives space to the rawness of humanity. The parts of us that don’t need to be educated and tamed, but released into the wild.

Tamara, also known as Cuchira (her superhero name), offers retreats, online classes, an anger course coming soon, and 1:1 sessions online or in person if you can make your way to Portugal, where she now resides.

Episode 14: A Conversation With My First Guest & Yoga Teacher Trainer Katja Patel20 Jul 202501:14:33

Send us Fan Mail

In this lovely first conversation with my amazing yoga teacher trainer Katja, we talk about what bought Katja onto the yogic path, being human as a yoga teacher, religion versus spirituality, discipline in our yoga practice and how trust and faith in the practice and process is a vital part of the journey.

We also talk about how we are sent the right teachers at the right time, how self-doubt, a lack of self-worth and inertia can limit us all, and how we can use the practice to take us over the line into action and back into a state of balance and greater self-belief.

Katja Patel has been practising Hatha yoga for over 30 years and teaching for 25 years. She has a wealth of knowledge in Ayurveda, yogic philosophy and anatomy. I had the great honour of being her student and now I can happily call her a dear friend. I hope you enjoy this beautiful conversation as much as we did.

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I dive into the basics of how the nervous sytsem works in the body. I explain how the fight or flight stress response works and why its there, and how it is an essential part of our bodies innate ancient wisdom and survival system. I look at how when this system is switched on too much, and the body is in a chronic state of stress it can become disastrously detrimental to your health. I also talk about how the opposing parasympathetic or rest and digest sytstem works and how the powerful practices of yoga can help us to hack this system, and relearn how to relax. I hope you enjoy.

In the west we still think of yoga as being all about stretching the body, but thankfully this paradigm is now beginning to change, as more and more people are recognising the powerful holistic effects a yoga practice can have on us. In this episode I take a little look at how yoga practices can help shift our energy, physically, mentally and emotionally. We take a brief look at the nervous system (full episode to come on this soon) and how our yoga mat is a vital place of allowing and a sacred space for self love and self reflection.

Episode 11: 10 minute Guided Mantra Meditation: Aham Brahmasmi16 Jun 202500:17:39

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I guide you through a lovely mantra based meditation practice.

"Aham Brahmasmi" basicaly translates as "I am the universe" " Or I am universal consciousness."

This mantra comes from the Advaita Vedanta tradition, and is one of four important mantras from the Mahavakyas within the ancient scriptures of the Upanishads. Without getting too academic, you can think of Brahman as the ultimate universal consciousness, and the Atman or seer as the self. This mantra is an invitation to explore the concept that both Brahman and Atman are one and the same. Its a beautiful and scared exclamation of your oneness with everything, whatever that might mean for you.

I really hope you enjoy this guided meditation, so sit back, get comfortable and lets begin.

Episode 10: "Right Now Just About Anything Could Happen." The Law of Impermanence And How Everything Changes, All The Time.09 Jun 202500:18:48

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I talk about what an important lesson it can be for us to get comfortable with uncertainty. How its a mistake to think that any of us know anything with any real certainty, and how everything is constantly changing all the time. Acknowledging this allows us to be more present and opens up the glorious possibility of the here and now, away from the pain of the past and the fear of the future.

Episode 9: Meditation As a Portal To The Self: How Meditation is The Ultimate Tool To Get To Know Yourself Better, Begin To Heal and Change Your World04 Jun 202500:26:50

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode we take another look at the benefits of meditation, specifically looking at meditation as an incredibly powerful tool to help open the door to self enquiry, which is the first step towards greater self knowledge, self awareness and healing. When we can take this first brave step towards getting to know ourselves better, we can begin to understand that we are not our thoughts, or emotions and that they do not define who we are. We can tap into the "true self" within, which is a powerful source of peace and wisdom.

The implications on this shift in perspective can have an amazingly powerful impact not just on how we view and conduct ourselves, but also on our relationships, communities and the wider world around us.

Episode 8: The Power Of Silence19 May 202500:31:20

In this short episode I take a brief look at the power of silence, and how practicing being in silence can have a profound effect on our wellbeing.

I refer to my own experiences during a 10 day silent Vipassana Meditation retreat, and talk about why in our modern society we might be talking too much and not listening enough.

In the episode I read from the beautiful book "Be As You Are" The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi, Edited by David Godman

Find out more about Vipassnana silent retreats in the Uk here, but they also offer retreats worldwide: https://www.dhamma.org/en/schedules/noncenter/uk

I mentioned a fascinating podcast episode with Dr. Rangan Chatterjee and Erling Kagge- the Norwegian explorer unfortunately I cant seem to link it here: Its called Feel Better Live More and its episode number 551: Silence As medecine: How Moments of Stillness Transform Your Brain, Body & Emotional Health.

Episode 7: Why Meditation Isnt About "Clearing The Mind" 12 May 202500:41:16

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode I look at the most common misconceptions that people hold about meditation and why these are not just holding people back, but even stopping them from beginning. I talk about the main barriers that people can come across and my top tips to help you get started meditating and crucially, to keep going.

I recorded this episode once before and in doing so realised that there was a HUGE amount that I wanted to say, so I decided to go back to the drawing board and break it down into different episodes.

I mention two apps that I like to use:

https://insighttimer.com/

https://www.1giantmind.com/

I also reference the late great Sri Ramana Maharshi, and his Atma Vichara practice. I visited his wonderful ashram in Tiruvannamalai in 2020 and it is a beautiful place to visit and spend time in meditation. You can find out more about this here:

Episode 6: 10 minute So Hum Mantra Guided Meditation05 May 202500:17:39

Send us Fan Mail

This episode is the first of a series of guided meditations to try in your personal practice.

This beautiful So Hum mantra meditation is a powerful way to ground and calm, body, mind and spirit.

So Hum literally means "I Am" and I like to think of it as a beautiful expression of our existence in the here and now. Its an exclamation of our "being-ness" and a celebration of the cosmic consciousness. This ancient and simple mantra has the power to elevate and transform, bringing us right into the present moment.

So get yourself nice and warm and in a comfortable seated position, and lets begin.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT DRIVE WHILST PRACTISING THIS MEDITATION

In this episode I'm exploring why I think Yoga is a true act of courage: how it strips away anything false and inauthentic and lays bare the truth of who you really are.

I talk about my own experiences along the path and practices that have helped open my heart and let the truth be unveiled.

Ill also be talking about the 6 common barriers to our practice that we can all experience from time to time, and how to overcome them.

Episode 3: What Is Yoga?02 Apr 202500:26:07

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode, I take a brief look at what yoga is-and what it is not. I have often been asked what Yoga is, and how it differs from Pilates. If I had a pound for every time... Although this is a MASSIVE subject, and like most esoteric and metaphysical modalities it is incrediby diffcult to define, in this short episode I attempt to outline what for me is the clearest definition of yoga I can give at this stage in my spiritual journey, drawing from my own study with various teachers and personal experience. I touch on how it differs from Pilates, what the main purpose of Yoga practices are, advanced asana practice and why its not entirely necessary and so much more. Recording this episode has opened up many wider questions and my views may be controversial for some. As always my intention here is to share and learn in a non-judgmental space. If you'd like to contact me with your views on this episode and ideas of what you'd like to hear more about I'd love to hear from you.

Episode 2: The Power Of Intention02 Apr 202500:22:50

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode, I explore the power of intention, both in our yoga practice and in the rest of our lives. I explain why setting an intention at the beginning of your yoga practice can be so powerful and impactful. I also talk about the law of attraction, the ripple affect of our behaviour and energy to those around us and ourselves, and how being intentional with all that we do leads us to become more self aware and more able to act with kindness and compassion.

In this episode I also mention one of my incredible teachers; the amazing Nikki Slade of Free The Inner Voice. With Nikki I am learning traditional Bhakti chanting and how to lead Kirtan. She is an incredible teacher and my Journey with her has been (and continues to be) incredibly healing and therapeutic.  Ill be talking more about my experiences in this part of my practice in later episodes. Nikki does 1:1 sessions and immersive courses all over the UK as well as weekly Kirtan sessions in person and online.

In this episode I first have to apologise as I get on my soapbox and a little fired up talking about this. This episode might resonate more with the women in this audience but its definitely for the guys too.

I talk about how yoga in the west has been seriously sexualised, through fashion, pop-culture, branding and marketing, morphing it into something with far less than the respect and gravitas it deserves. I also talk about how vital it is more than EVER for us all to be starting a serious practice. I promise I dont talk poilitics and I only use the "T" word (Trump) once.
