Welcome to the Be Neuroinclusive Club podcast, the show for and with freelancers and small business owners who recognise that people often think, learn and respond in different ways.
In each episode, we'll dive into the world of neurodiversity, chatting with entrepreneurs and business owners who've experienced it firsthand. We'll cover everything from productivity and focus to achieving balance and building businesses that embrace diverse ways of thinking.
We’ll also shatter some myths around neurodivergence, challenging stereotypes and unconscious biases along the way.
I'm your host, Victoria Tretis, an introverted, HSP-thinking, certified coach, trainer, and speaker specialising in neuroinclusivity. Through hundreds of hours of coaching plus my work with organisations to cultivate neurodiversity awareness, I’ve seen firsthand the amazing transformations that happen when we accept and adapt to the way our brains think and operate best.
Small tweaks can make a massive difference in creating connection, motivation and boosting our overall wellbeing. All of which means a whole lot more ease in life. Which is what we’re all looking for, right?
Ok, enough chatter - you ready to listen?

Anita specialises in helping project leaders, predominately in male-dominated industries such as construction, to upskill their inclusive leadership competencies so that they embed diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging at all levels of managing and leading projects. This leads to better project delivery through improved safety cultures and the retention, engagement and promotion of diverse talent.
Anita Phagura is a skilled Inclusion Specialist, ICF Accredited Leadership Coach and Masters Qualified Project Manager with over a decade of experience in the male-dominated industry of railway construction. During this time, Anita developed, managed and sponsored projects of over £1billion value - including Electrification power upgrade projects, and Crossrail East overground stations. This combination of experience, background and skills puts her in a position where she is able to deliver transformational inclusion outcomes that are specifically suited to the construction industry and will impact those ‘on the ground’ with meaningful change.
Tune in today to learn about Anita, introversion, ADHD and also:
challenging thoughts of perfectionism
rebelling against stereotypes and expectations
her experience of working as a volunteer for The Samaritans
recognising energy levels and creating a business to support her productivity and focus.
I’d known of Anita for a while before our paths crossed about a year ago when we sat next to one another at a two-day event. Yes, even us introverts enjoy leaving the house and meeting people in real life from time to time. But I remember thinking, “gosh, I hope we get on if we’re stuck with each other today and tomorrow”. Ha! And, obviously we did get on because fast forward to now and we regularly share WhatsApp messages of ideas, articles and updates to support one another in the work we each do.

06 Taking action with Access to Work: Rachel's business journey with neurodivergence
Rachel runs Fruition for Business, and works with ADHD business owners to take action and make changes so that they can create a fulfilling, flexible business that gives them the freedom they’ve been striving for.
Rachel has ADHD and dyslexia and understands how frustrating it can be to not take action. She works with clients and their executive function to help make their projects and plans come to fruition.
The sound goes a litttttle bit wonky at a couple of points because of the phone signal, but the general gist is there. :)
Tune in today to learn about Rachel as well as her thoughts on neurodivergence and:
wanting to run her own business from a very young age
comparing life now to the 9-5 she had earlier in her career
the reminders, little phone widgets and software that supports her life and business
her experience of the Access to Work process and the difference having a funded coach (that’s me - btw!) and a VA support team is making to both her business and life.
Sarah is a multi-passionate career woman. By day a marketing manager for a tech company, and by night a mental health Hellraiser and Coach.
She can never do one thing, so having different roles suits her. She talks a lot about marketing and being your authentic self; however, her passion is helping the unheard find their voice.
She also runs a side project supporting football fans with their mental health. Oh, and she suspects she has ADHD.
Tune in today to learn about Sarah as well as her thoughts on neurodivergence, ADHD and:
how the whole topic is relatively new to her but feels very familiar at the same time
creating coping strategies that support her mental health and brain
the visual reminder she has sitting on her desk
using the word weird with much love in her conversations and owning her version of weird
how she’s found a rock playlist at 145bpm that keeps her focussed and productive
Alice is a neurodivergent, self-employed writer and SEO nerd (her words 🤓). After 8 years working full time for other people, in early 2022 she finally took the plunge to go freelance.
Fascinated by all things words and language from a very young age, Alice was always going to be a writer of some description. She discovered her neurodivergence at the ripe old age of 27 and has been building an accommodating life for herself ever since.
Tune in today to learn about Alice as well as her thoughts on neurodivergence and:
succeeding at school by being book-smart
thoughts on hierarchy, micromanagement and feeling penalised because of all the unwritten workplace rules
setting and holding rock-solid boundaries in her business and how every shitty client is a new clause in her contract
how running her business with three distinct strands truly supports her brain and creativity
the Sunday ritual that sets her up for the week ahead.

02 Discovering a sense of self: how Chrissy built two businesses aligned with her needs for creativity and connection
Chrissy creates websites for soulful and gentle brands who want to stand out without the noise and hustle. The people she works with tend to feel strongly about their work but selling themselves can be hard when they’re an introvert, highly sensitive or neurodivergent.
Being a sensitive designer who thrives on connection, this means Chrissy goes deep - she learns everything about each client’s business, values, and energy.
Her joy lies in translating these nuances into a compelling visual form that will help those she works with to attract more aligned clients and showcase the emotional transformation they will experience from working together, resulting in repeat work and referrals. All while preserving their precious energy levels and avoiding burnout.
Tune in today to learn about Chrissy as well as her thoughts on neurodivergence and:
the words that others used to describe her as a child
the lightbulb moment in her corporate career which went on to shape the direction of her life
having two distinct strands of her business to complement her brain, energy levels and lifestyle

01 Real talk with James: embracing individuality, MBA success, and HR Most Influential 2023
Season 1 · Episode 1
Wednesday, August 30, 2023 • Duration 44:16
Read the full show notes here: https://www.victoriatretis.co.uk/podcast-club/james-deanToday’s guest is James Dean who owns HR Courses Online, a training company that works with HR professionals to advance their careers through CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) qualifications.
I was introduced to James through a mutual friend, and when I posted about looking for guests to come on this show, James was literally the first person to respond. And I’m so glad he did because we had a really interesting chat.
Dyslexia isn’t a topic he often speaks about, so I am really grateful to James for speaking so candidly during our conversation.
Tune in today to learn about James and also:
the career advice he most definitely did not follow when he left school with GCSEs
the path of least resistance and how that supported his freakin' MBA
the (frankly shocking!) unpopular opinions he hears when it comes to dyslexia and neurodivergence
being named HR Most Influential 2023! 🎉
Oh, and the word "weird" crops up today more than once - maybe we're both a little weird - I'm cool with that.
