A podcast obsessed with helping GenX(ish) leaders, who should be at the top of their careers but don’t feel like they are. The b Cause Work Doesn’t Have to Suck podcast isn’t another boring, stuffy leadership podcast. And it doesn’t bring you a gazillion guests who had the guts to “ef” the 9-5, seemingly the only answer to truly being happy in your career. Instead, this podcast is focused on helping you continue to rise in your career, but doing it without compromising everything else - your family, your health, or maybe even who you are. Erin, a former corporate CEO turned Authentic Leadership expert, teams up with her good friend, Nicole, an ivy league grad and professional do-gooder. Nicole lays it all on the line to share her real-time work highs, lows, contemplations, and sometimes barely believable stories. And Erin coaches and cajoles her (really, you) along the way...all in the name of helping you feel less insane, more inspired. Erin also interviews authentic leaders and experts who are focused on giving you the stories, advice, and tips that will have you making small, creative changes that will help you contend with and catapult your career. Grab a drink, put your feet up, and come along for a journey that will involve career advice, unsanitized thoughts, leadership lessons, important guests, and who the hell knows what else. b Cause work DOESN’T have to suck.

mardi 22 avril 2025Duration 34:16

What does it really take to leave a legacy as a leader?

In this solo episode, Erin is coming in hot with a message that’s been on her mind for a while—one that’s part pep talk, part practical how-to: how to leave a real leadership legacy (and no, it’s not about working yourself to death or following every rule in the book).

From the awkwardness of admitting she left a legacy… to the specific things she did (and wishes she had done), this episode is packed with straight talk, strategic insight, and stories you’ll carry with you.

You’ll hear:

1.) Why Erin believes your legacy isn’t in the numbers—it’s in your people

2.) A behind-the-scenes look at the rule-breaking that actually paid off (even if it got her a slap on the wrist)

3.) The one thing most leaders forget to do—but makes all the difference

Erin’s 3-point checklist to make sure you’re building a legacy you can be proud of. No fluff. No fake humility. Just the truth about what works—and what matters.

Let's face it. The job search can be a soul-sucking experience. You spend hours crafting the perfect resume, only to be rejected by automated systems or ghosted by potential employers.

But what if the problem isn't with your credentials, but with your method? Instead of submitting your resume blindly and hoping for the best, why not take a more proactive (and authentic) approach?

That’s exactly what our guest did and guess what? It paid off BIG time.

Joshua Cruz is a writer, motivational dancer/speaker and recruiter seeking to help other individuals build their happiness. He uses his career expertise paired with his personal experiences as a gay Afro Latino man in America, to create opportunities for individuals who are often looked over based on things such as race, gender and identity.

In this episode, Joshua shares how he went from unemployed to getting multiple job offers that led to his dream job. His secret? Well, you’ll just have to tune in to find that out.
