Today we're presenting a special episode recapping the entire weekend of Adventures in Odyssey's One Grand Party in early August 2024. ATC contributors, Austin Peachey and Michael Schroeder joined J.D. to record daily recaps of the event. Today's main event is a conversation with author and audiobook narrator John R. Erickson. John published his first book and audiobook of the Hank the Cowdog character in 1983 and has been going strong ever since. J.D. talks with him about the series' origins, his work on a cattle ranch, the part that the oral storytelling tradition played in his approach to writing, how the Hank the Cowdog audio drama podcast came about, and much more. In addition to the interview, J.D. shares a whole passel of audio drama updates, addresses feedback from Jeremy and Blake, and gives a monologue about audio drama as content marketing for brands.

ATC contributor Austin Peachey joins JD to host the show as they share lots of audio drama updates and address some feedback from listener Blake. They also have a great conversation with actors Andy Harvey and Daniel Cross about how they got started in audio drama, how other types of acting can translate to voice acting, and some of their most challenging roles thus far. Tom Swift returns in Tom Swift and His Motorboat from the Colonial Radio Theatre. This nearly hour and a half audio dramatization of the classic novel is the main topic of conversation in this episode. The CRT did a wonderful job on this second Tom Swift audio drama and we really enjoyed it. We also have a jam-packed newscast from Roy, a few audio drama tidbits (including some free audio drama) and we address feedback from Lee, Sarah Grace, Amber and Rachel.
