My Bushmills Chat with 92yr old Les Duthie
Saison 1 · Épisode 200
lundi 2 mars 2026 • Durée 02:01:00
Join me for My Bushmills Chat with Les Duthie.
Les Duthie was the Bushmills Distillery manager from the early 70's until the mid-90's.
He is 92 yrs young and has a memory like an elephant. I went and sat with Les at his home in Bushmills village, a mere stone's throw from Bushmills Distillery.
He grew up in Glasgow and entered into the drinks industry in the 1950's, where he spent his entire career, ending up as Distillery Manager in Bushmills during a pivotal point in Irish history - The Troubles.
This was a privilege to sit and chat with Les and I expect you will learn as much from him as I did.
Thank you to his daughter Shirley and also to Adrian McLoughlin from The Harbourview Whiskey Hotel in Carnlough for facilitating this chat.

My Pub Chat with Stephen Magennis from Echlinville Distillery
Saison 1 · Épisode 199
vendredi 20 février 2026 • Durée 01:17:00
Join me for My Pub Chat with Stephen Magennis from Echlinville Distillery.
I met up with Steve in The Duke of York pub in Belfast city centre, truly one of the best decorated pubs on the island. Just amazing place to sit.
We took up residence in the wee snug, down the back, an chatted about Stephen's time working in the whiskey industry for nearly 20yrs. Steve has a really good perspective of where we were before the resurgance of Irish Whiskey and where we are now. He is not afraid to speak the hard truths too and it made this chat all the more interesting.

Dean Fitzgerald runs the Whiskey Appreciation Society pages on Social Media platforms. He does a great job bringing people along his whiskey journey and helping to promote Irish brands. I urge you to check out his profiles and give him a follow.
Cathal O'Brien has been repping West Cork Distillers for a decade now. Cathal originally hails from Galway, but you wouldn't know it with the pride that he has for West Cork.
This is part 2 of our chat where I invited the 2 lads up to my garden and I had a ball talking all things spirits and sharing stories.
We ended up cracking open and sharing some really fabulous bottles on part 2 of our Garden Chat.

My Tasmanian Whisky Chat with John Halton
Saison 1 · Épisode 101
vendredi 2 septembre 2022 • Durée 01:21:43
Join me for My Tasmanian Whisky Chat with John Halton.
John Holtan and I hosted a Tasmanian Whiskey tasting up on Belfast Whiskey Week in July 2022. The quality of the whiskys blew me away, so I grabbed John for a chat in The Europa Hotel at 10am the next morning before I left Belfast.
The affinity that alot of Tasmanians feel towards their Irish heritage was an real eye opener, given the history of Irish 'convicts' being transported to Van Diemans Land, as it was then known, by the British.
I know you'll enjoy this chat, Slainte!
