Wild Tending, Harmonious Farming Through The Feminine, A conversation with Tasha Stevens-Vallecillo
vendredi 16 août 2024 • Durée 01:20:05
There’s a lot of buzz around off grid living, living in community, rewilding, foraging, regen and wild tending at the moment. And I feel that we need the voices of those that are truly embodied to learn from. So it’s with great pleasure I get to introduce my next guest Tasha who is definitely one of those wise voices.
Tasha Stevens-Vallecillo is a mixed race English, Central American woman with a Buddhist Spiritual practice. She has been the visionary of many projects and is a true creative force working with community, wild food, wild tending, food production and farming to address some of the core issues of our time. Her work is rooted in continuous learning and intuitive feeling, to explore and continuously develop methodologies and product development, creating food systems that work in harmony with nature through developing agri-wilding landscapes and products that draw on ancient or indigenous understandings of land, food and medicine.
There’s so much that Tasha can speak to from a real place of knowing and this conversation is a great intro to Tasha and my hope is for her to come back on the NatLifePod to share some more of her wisdom.
I hope you enjoy the wild chat as much as we did.

From Grass to Greens: Pesticides, Produce and Playgrounds - A conversation with Jess Abbis
lundi 15 juillet 2024 • Durée 01:39:21
Get ready to be inspired, educated, mortified, but motivated to take action.
Whether you're a farmer, an environmental enthusiast, or you simply love food and care about this planet we call home, this episode is for you.
In this episode of The NatLifePod I’m with the lovely Jess Abbis who’s mission is to unite, inspire and accelerate the movement towards regeneration as a means to restore soil, human, and planetary health.
Having listened to the needs of the UK regenerative movement, Jess and her cofounders transitioned from Farmers Footprint UK and are now working under the name of the foundational programme, 'The Nest', a non-profit creative agency in service and support of agro ecological producers to sell and market their products to local, regional consumers.
Jess shares her experience and insights on sustainable farming, organic farming vs regenerative practices, and the importance of reconnecting with community.
We discuss how creating direct relationships between our local farmers and us consumers can foster a sense of community, promote transparency in the food system, help protect the environment, promote biodiversity, ensure food security, and create more resilient and prosperous communities for present and future generations.

The promise of psychedelics - A conversation with Professor David Nutt
vendredi 9 février 2024 • Durée 01:03:06
Psychedelics have helped me and many others that I know through real dark times of addictions and depression.
My own breakthrough with psychedelics provided the breaking down of my belief systems and reawakened an overwhelmingly empowering sense of my own ability to change.
I’m super excited to be sharing this next episode of the NatLifePod with you because I’m behind the mic with Professor David Nutt. who is a neuropsychopharmacologist specialising in the research of drugs that affect the brain and conditions such as addiction, depression anxiety, and sleep.
In this chat with David I unpack my own journey with psychedelics and the huge shifts that I have made through working with these powerful medicines David then helps to explain what was actually happening with my brain during and after these mind altering, healing and life changing experiences.
It’s a really exciting time and certainly feels that we’re on the cusp of a major revolution in psychiatric medicine and neuroscience that could see psychedelics being used to treat addictions, depression and other mental health conditions.
We discuss the potential therapeutic purposes of psychedelics for conditions including depression, PTSD, addiction, anxiety, and eating disorders.
I hope you appreciate the direction of this conversation and the great work that David Nutt is doing here.

Intervention to Reinvention - A conversation with Rhys Thomas
vendredi 12 janvier 2024 • Durée 01:58:30
Well listeners, buckle up! This next episode of the NatLifePod is really quite something. To be honest, this intro really isn’t going to do this pod justice. But what I will say is that this is a real roller coaster of a story, and one that speaks to how hitting Rock Bottom can become the solid foundation of which to rebuild a life that you love. On this episode of the NatLifePod, I’m behind the mic with Rhys Thomas. Rhys, is an ex-international rugby player, who at just 29-years of age suffered a massive heart attack during training. To save his life, Rhys underwent a quadruple heart bypass and now lives life as a battery-powered half-man-half-machine. But this wasn’t rock bottom for Rhys. It’s the trauma that unravelled post open heart and post coma, that became that foundation. We unpack the trauma-led-chaotic lifestyle that finally led to Rhys’ close community stepping into help him through intervention, and the awakening that followed rehab. I firmly believe that we have everything inside ourselves to be the change and this conversation certainly serves as confirmation of that belief. I hope you find as much inspiration from this conversation as I did. The Authenticity Game Plan - A Conversation with Stevie Ward
jeudi 21 décembre 2023 • Durée 02:08:42
On this episode of the NatLifePod I’m behind the mic with Stevie Ward.
Stevie Ward is a former professional rugby player who played in one of the most successful teams in super league history.
We unpack Stevie’s journey from the curios kid, picking up a rugby ball first time, to then becoming the youngest grand final winner ever, and being named captain at just 26 years of age. We then go on to unpack the injuries, the mental health issues and the brain injury that then led to Stevie retiring from Rugby at just 27 years of age.
Through his ups and downs, his wins and what was being perceived as losing in life, Stevie has birthed a belief that the truest form of resilience is to realise the potential of our true selves.
Stevie is doing great work in the community through Mentality which he launched in 2016.
Mentality is a platform for inspiring conversation around mental health for men and offers counselling and life-coaching services.
I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did.

mercredi 25 octobre 2023 • Durée 01:32:27
On this episode of the NatLifePod I’m behind the mic with my wife, my rock, my lover, my partner, my best friend, my wisest adviser and the phenomenal mother to our four unschooled wildlings. Yes it’s the Key Stone that is Katarina Riddle.
A few years back I had the honour of getting behind the mic with Katarina to unpack our Natural Parenting approach for our friends podcast called WeMove. The podcast was really well received and ever since its launch I have been inundated with requests for me to get Katarina back behind the mic.
So here’s she is…

Remembering who we are - A conversation with Seth Hughes
jeudi 28 septembre 2023 • Durée 01:21:55
On this episode of the NatLifePod I’m behind the mic with Seth Hughes
Seth is a super inspiring human who’s on a mission to help others reconnect to being nature, not separate from it.
Led by curiosity, a talent for film making , foraging and a little frustration. Seth decided to get a smart phone and start communicating his message for personal and planetary health, and in just 5 months went from 0 to hero with 124 thousand followers on the gram.
Now I say hero, not because he hit 124k followers, but because of his love and care and the intention behind what he chooses to share with his growing community.
Seth produces really meaningful, insightful, healing content for both personal and planetary health .
We unpack his journey from his early years as a surfer and his transition to a successful young videographer on the surf scene, and how nature has helped him remain grounded whilst navigating these new times as a 24 year old man, being catapulted from Seth wanting to help others reconnect to the land, to Seth going viral with reels hitting 5million views.
I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did.
