So excited to welcome Katya for this new episode! In June 2024 she set out on a wild adventure in Armenia, to run 819kms with 33,000m+ elevation on the recently established Transcaucasian Trail. She shares more of her unique journey as a runner and human, and how and why it felt like a full circle moment to attempt this challenge and FKT. We chat about the adventure, the mountains, the joy, the stress, the learnings, and the incredible team she got to do this with!

21: Laura Swanton Rouvelin on Challenging herself with Hardmoors 200, Building Resilience & Becoming a Coach

In this new episode we sit down with Laura Swanton Rouvelin, an ultra-runner, coach and working mum who is used to exploring and pushing her limits. This year she was the only women, and the 4th ever to complete Hardmoors 200, a race that needs to be completed in 60 hours. She shares her experience in challenging herself with the speed on the 200miles distance, fueling, and sleeping strategy. We also discuss navigating pre-race nerves and self-doubt, building resilience, enjoying these adventures and becoming a running coach.

12: Jen Scotney, Navigating the Unexpected, Resilience and New Horizons

Very happy to welcome Jen Scotney on the podcast today. She is a podcaster, writer, coach, yoga teacher, and mountain leader. She also was a runner and has previously stood on the podium at some of the UK’s toughest ultramarathons, including the 190 mile Northern Traverse race and twice on the 108 winter Montane Spine Challenger. A diagnosis of osteoarthritis that was not related to running, led to two knee replacements, and the end of her running. She now writes and broadcasts exploring how we cope when life doesn’t go as planned.

We recorded this episode early February, she had just ran and won the Arc of Attrition 50 in Cornwall, a couple of weeks before that. She tells us about her running journey, from climbing to running long distances in the mountains and racing.
