Embrace the Differences Between Podcasts And Streaming Videos To Share Your Visions Far and Wide
Saison 2 · Épisode 6
samedi 11 janvier 2025 • Durée 15:56
Sometimes, people use the term Podcast to talk about live video streaming. They are related but not the same in ways beyond simply video and audio.
Podcasts have different distribution methods and audiences.
You can use both to extend your reach far and wide to share your visions for the world or attract people to your products and services.
Greg Dixon demonstrates the difference using the launch of Your Writing For Fun Adventure.

Welcome to the Shared Visions Unlimited Show with Greg Dixon ~ Episode 1
Saison 1 · Épisode 1
vendredi 19 janvier 2024 • Durée 05:51
Welcome to the Shared Visions Unlimited Podcast, episode one.
If you're listening to this on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or anywhere else, your favorite platform, you may be listener number one.
So congratulations.
My name is Greg Dixon. My company is Shared Visions Unlimited Publishing and Marketing. And I'm just gonna give a little background to Shared Visions.
I've been sharing people's stories, sharing their businesses, their messages, using video and audio and writing blog posts, websites for decades.
So this is really just an extension of what I've been doing for a long time. And it started off, Shared Visions started off as an online art gallery back in the 90s, probably the first online art gallery or one of the very few. And at some point I put the name Unlimited on there because I wanted to cover anything.
So the topics are limited to what I'm interested in, which is almost everything. So that's the Unlimited stuff.
But the focus of this broadcast will be on various ways of getting your message out into the world and sharing your message in all platforms possible.
I'll give you an example of what we're doing right now. I blog a lot. So there's often a blog post, been using Streamyard to push things out as video out to multiple channels that include LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, a couple of Facebook channels. And once in a while, put it out on TikTok and trying a few other platforms like that. I've had things put through CD Baby available as audio recordings out to everywhere that pays, the CD Baby says, Spotify, Amazon Music, all that kind of thing.
And I've been talking about doing a podcast, right? The word podcast has been distorted. I always understood it to be the audio podcast through the regular channels. But now people are talking about the broadcast that I've been doing with Streamyard as podcasts. And I don't think that's really strictly true.
And it's just a different mechanism, a different audience. So over the weeks, I'm gonna be talking about a number of topics.
One of the services we do is we help people publish everywhere. If you've got a book, we help format and publish the book, get it up on Amazon and out to everywhere through IngramSpark. We create a digital experience edition of that, which is basically an online repository, which is multimedia. You can have video and audio downloads, all sorts of stuff, images.
And we're also encouraging people to do audiobooks and audio streaming, audio and video streaming, in terms of marketing and just sharing the story, sharing it everywhere. So one of the things we're adding to the mix is podcasting here.
This is our very first episode, and I'm gonna be learning a bit about this. I'm using Buzzsprouts at the moment, and it seems to be pretty darn easy. So keep an eye on what I'm doing here. I'm gonna provide some tips and some experiences about all of that, all those kinds of book publishing. And we're also having, gonna have guests on. I have a number of guests in mind to come on the show.
I've also done, we've done hundreds of broadcasts over the past, so I may go back and through there and take some of the interviews we've done and put them out here through the podcast network and see where that goes.
So thank you very much for joining this very first episode number one. Put a comment in wherever you hear this.
If you're interested in being a guest, let me know. And also if you're interested in doing the kind of publishing that we're doing for our clients, I can help you with that.
So basically the main strategy is create once, publish everywhere.
So if you've got a course that you've created, maybe an online course, we can help you convert that into a book and maybe an audio series, an audiobook

Brainstorming and Organizing Your Writing Ideas ~ Writing For Fun with Greg Dixon
Saison 2 · Épisode 2
mardi 7 janvier 2025 • Durée 15:49
Want to give writing (anything) a shot? It will be fun!
Today, I discuss some approaches to capturing your writing ideas, including paper journals, index cards, note apps, and Google Docs.
Google Drive is a great place to collect raw notes, do planning, and collaborate.
Outlines and MindMaps can help with both brainstorming and planning your content.
Voice memos with transcription can help speed your process. Using AI, too.
The main thing is to pick a place to collect and organize your writing and have fun.
I am planning group coaching sessions on Saturdays.
