How do you say fluticasone? (Pronunciation Series Episode 46)
Épisode 311
vendredi 3 janvier 2025 • Durée 08:10
Welcome to the 46th episode of my drug pronunciation series! As we continue through the alphabet from A-Z, we’re on the letter “F” for fluticasone, Flovent, and Flonase. Also check out episode 285, which features fentanyl.
In this episode, I divide fluticasone, Flovent, and Flonase into syllables, tell you which syllables to emphasize, and share my sources.
The written pronunciations are helpful. They are below 👇🏻 and in the show notes for episode 311 on https://www.thepharmacistsvoice.com/. Pro Tip! Practice saying both drug names while you look at the written pronunciations. Looking at the written pronunciation with the syllables divided correctly helps. Practice leads to mastery.

In post-pandemic America, everyone is more sensitive about mental health. If you have ever felt misjudged or misunderstood because you have a mental illness or if you have misjudged or misunderstood someone with a mental illness, you’ll appreciate this episode.

Pronunciation Series Episode 15: Humira® (adalimumab)
Épisode 211
vendredi 7 avril 2023 • Durée 11:36
How do you say Humira® and adalimumab? Unfortunately, you can’t sound out drug names. They’re not pronounced the way they look. 👀
Humira® is one of the top 200 drugs in the US. It’s a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker. Humira® is the brand name, and adalimumab is the generic (non-proprietary) name.
In my pronunciation episodes, I break drug names down into syllables, explain which syllable(s) have the emphasis, reveal the source of the information, and put the written pronunciations in the show notes so that you see them and use them right away.
The purpose of these pronunciation episodes is to provide the intended pronunciations of drug names from reliable sources so that you feel more confident saying them and less frustrated learning them. I hope this episode helps you! 🥳
This episode has a YouTube video, which shows the written pronunciations of Humira® and adalimumab.

The Four D’s are delete, delay, delegate, and diminish. Some would call them a “life hack.” They help me spend my time wisely.
In this episode, I talk about my love of spiral-bound notebooks, making lists, estimating how long it takes to do things, setting priorities, being realistic, and using the 4 D’s.
Although I love the topic of time management, I struggle to get everything done. When I read Time Management from the Inside Out by Julie Morgenstern in 2008, I learned the 4 D’s (among other strategies), and my time management skills improved! What a difference 15 years makes! With consistent practice, I struggle less now. 🥳
⏰ I hope this episode helps you with time management!
