OSMcast! & The Carbuncle Chronicle – Détails, épisodes et analyse

Hello Adventurers! While our last episode was all about our journey through Dawntrail as it was happening, this one is looking back at after finishing the Mainline Story Quest (colloquially known as the MSQ). Since we are now in the thick of Patch 7.1: Crossroads, we wanted to make sure to take a beat before the patch hit and get our thoughts out before the game continues to change and grow.

Joining us in reminiscing of uh, times not all that long passed, is our pal Umi aka Doug from OSMcast proper. He gives us a blow by blow of all the Jobs he’s been playing since the new expansion came out, and came up with some excellent sound design tips! And how about that MSQ , huh? Stuff sure happens, and we talk all about it! Finally, we get ourselves all hyped up for the new patch (which is already out). From 1988 to 1989, the anime studio Gainax gave us a six episode OAV(OVA?) series known as Gunbuster. It had it all: Giant robots, space aliens, ladies from an all-girls school training in giant robots to fight the space aliens, the whole nine yards! Then in 2023, Discotek Media gave an outstanding Blu-ray release of that show complete with a brand new English dub handled by Sound Cadence Studios. And then in 2024, the OSMcast! gave the world a podcast about Discotek Media’s Blu-ray release of the anime Gunbuster by Gainax. But also joining us to talk about Gunbuster is Melissa Sternenberg, the voice of Kazumi Amano from the Sound Cadence Studios English dub production for the Discotek Media Blu-ray release of the anime Gunbuster by Gainax. We also talk about Glass Mask way more than expected, but not unappreciated.

So this past few weekends ago, Seishun Con happened. And it was fun! One of the fun things was yet another attempt at an OSMcast LIVE! show. This time, we planned on doing a podcast about Crusher Joe with our pals over at Akihabara Renditions. Only... Funny thing! Communication failed, and half of us did not watch Crusher Joe in time for this panel. So, this is the audio you get instead.

Whoa what's this craziness this is not the normal OSMcast?!? Nope this is a whole new OSMcast-produced thing, we're calling Touched by a Duelist! It's a new weekly, show where we are covering the anime series Touched and Yu-Gi-Oh!

Touch being the baseball anime, based on the manga by Mitsuru Adachi, and Yu-Gi-Oh! being the card battling anime, based on the manga by Kazuki Takahashi.

This episode we are covering the Touch episode 1, "No matter what everybody says, we're twins!!" And the Yu--Gi-Oh! episode 1, The Fearsome Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Accidentally continuing on a spooky-ish track*, we are gathered tonight to release a podcast about demons! And slayers! Of, well, demons! It's an anime and manga called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The manga is by Koyoharu Gotouge, with the anime adaption by Ufotable.

*Clearly you can tell by how echo-y it is. Because it's spooky, not because it was much a more open room this time or anything...

As of this recording, the anime is out there streaming courtesy of Aniplex. So you can find it on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu. The manga is released by Viz, and they can be bought via volumes either physically or digitally. Sometimes, you get interviews at a con. But sometimes, you get them straight from the source. You get some of that good stuff. Fresh, uncut, farm to table, pure internet kind of interview. For this episode, our wonderful master interviewer John sat down with the amazing Dorothy Fahn.

Lately, you may have heard her as the voice of Mercedes in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. But she has lent her voice to many characters, like Meryl Stryfe in Trigun, or Melody from the latest take of Hunter x Hunter. Or perhaps, all the Digimon? She's been a few (Lalamon, Sunflowmon, Lilamon, and Rosemon)!
