You Dated a Hunter?! (ft. Ashley Byrne)
Saison 2 · Épisode 1
mardi 12 novembre 2024 • Durée 54:43
What the hell is up? Long time no see... I am back with season two of Jamie's Corner and what better way to kick it off than with the fierce animal activist Ashley Byrne.
Ashley went vegan 29 years ago and has worked at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for 17 years. She is the director of outreach and has created so much impact for the animals over the years.
In this episode we’re unpacking everything from animal rights victories to some setbacks we've faced, the recent Starbucks campaign, the atrocious women's milk marathon, plus swapping some wild (and seriously horrifying) dating stories.
Expect raw honesty, a whole lot of laughs, and of course, the activism talk you love. 🔥 If you want to check out other episodes I did with Ashley so you can hear her background story click below:

55. When Dog's On The Menu: An Inside look into China's Pet Meat Trade (ft. Andrea Gung from Duo Duo)
Saison 1 · Épisode 55
jeudi 7 décembre 2023 • Durée 57:44
In this compelling episode, I have the privilege of conversing with the founder of the Duo Duo Project, an organization dedicated to eradicating China's Dog and Cat Meat Trade.
Andrea's journey began with her deep affection for dogs. A pivotal moment occurred when she received a warning about her own dog potentially falling victim to the illicit dog meat trade. Upon investigating the industry, she was confronted with the harsh reality that surpassed her initial apprehensions. Shockingly, over 10 million dogs are slaughtered for meat in China every year.
Throughout this episode, Andrea sheds light on the staggering scale of the issue, delves into the prevailing societal attitudes, and explores actionable steps we can take to contribute to a solution. I challenge her to explore the ethical distinctions, if any, between consuming dogs and other animals such as pigs, chickens, or cows.Get ready, this is a good one. Enjoy the episode. *This Episode is also available on Spotify, Apple, Google Play.
