Miriam Marciano- Dressing Your Body Based on Body Shape - Diet Culture or Not?
Saison 3 · Épisode 12
mercredi 13 octobre 2021 • Durée 50:54
Today's episode with Miriam Marciano - is pretty much packed with information and insight.
If you know me by now- you see that I am much more interested in speaking out a topic and fleshing it out then saying my one and only opinion. I don't really work like that and nor does this podcast.
Miriam and I had so many fun, interesting things we wanted to cover! Miriam is a personal stylist - so right off the bat you may think of her as someone super materialistic. You might have your ideas about her and her business. That she, like many other business in the beauty industry, are just praying on our insecurity's. This is the opposite of what Miriam is, what she stands for and what her brand represents.
Miriam is here to help you find clothes that fit you well and that you can feel beautiful and confident in.
We all struggle with questions of self worth. Maybe we have tied our self worth to our weight or our business, or ANYTHING, these are fundamental things that we must explore in our lives.
Miriam and I sort of unpacked that here on this episode.
A word from Miriam: As the founder of Miriam Marciano Styling and SAMI NY Clothes, I help women look amazing and feel confident in their clothes.
Thank you for being here!

Matana Jacobs - How to Use Your Mental Health Struggles to Help Others.
Saison 3 · Épisode 9
mardi 24 août 2021 • Durée 01:14:21
In today's episode of Get INTUIT with Gila, I had a very interesting and powerful conversation with Matana Jacobs.
As Matana explains in the episode, she was never someone who struggled with anxiety/depression until she was stuck in bed and completely debilitated from it.
Matana definitely got knocked down but she also 100% got back up again and made meaning out of her pain.
She is the host of the Hope to Recharge Podcast - where she speaks about her mental health struggles and provides support and resources for others.
Check out her website https://hopetorecharge.com/about/ to learn more about Matana and her amazing podcast.

mercredi 4 août 2021 • Durée 54:31

Sarah Chana Radcliffe - how does food protect us?
Saison 3 · Épisode 6
mercredi 28 juillet 2021 • Durée 36:07
In today's episode, I spoke with Sarah Chana Radcliffe about the overlap between Intuitive Eating and what she sees in her psychology practice. Their is definitely a huge overlap between people who are struggling with binge eating and the concept of "self loathing." People use food because they are feeling so badly about themselves and the food matches the mood. People may also use food to protect them from the pain they may be feeling. This coping mechanism could have began in childhood and the adult now has no recollection of how and why it started, but it is very much apart of their adult life.
Sarah Chana and I obviously tackle these issues from different angles and it is really interesting to hear about it! Enjoy the show!
Sarah Chana Radcliffe is a psychologist in private practice in Toronto Canada, counseling parents, couples and individuals. Mrs. Radcliffe is the author of the HarperCollins Publications “Raise Your Kids without Raising Your Voice” and “The Fear Fix,” as well as 7 books on Jewish family life and emotional well-being, including her most recent release “Better Behavior Now!” Sarah Chana is a weekly columnist for the Family First section of the internationally distributed Mishpacha Magazine. In conjunction with Jewish Workshops, she has produced numerous webinar classes on parenting, marriage, anxiety and stress management, and she currently runs a live, ongoing weekly family-life webinar series called “The Family Circle.” Sarah Chana provides daily tools for parenting, family life and emotional well-being on her Facebook and Instagram Parenting Pages, as well as through her Daily Parenting Posts Email List.
