Aimee Jules is based out of Nelson and has recently started canyoning. As a beginner, she shares about what canyoning is, how to get started and what gear you need. Aimee shares about a five day canyoning trip with her partner in the Abel Tasman, where they kayaked between campsites and canyons. At one location, the duo had to make a hard call to bail on the canyon, after Aimee was feeling emotionally and physically exhausted and terrified. She talks about other awesome locations around NZ for canyoning. As a photographer and filmmaker, Aimee Jules loves to document her own and other people's epic adventures.

Épisode 95
vendredi 5 juillet 2024 • Durée 33:56
Hamish McColl, a North Islander from Whangamata, had never ventured to the South Island until his honeymoon. In this episode, Hamish shares his week long road trip from Queenstown to Christchurch. He talks about experiencing beautiful sunrises at Lake Wakatipu to epic 4WD adventures at Tasman Glacier, all while navigating the quirks of campervan life, including a funny story when emptying the wastewater. Hamish shares advice around picking the right rental, along with key locations to visit along the route. After that adventure, Hamish was inspired to trade his $630/week home-rental for a caravan trailer and life on the road with his wife and two kids.

008: Living on the Road for Three Years with Goose and Ellen
Épisode 8
vendredi 22 juillet 2022 • Durée 43:47
Although #vanlife has been glamourised on social media in recent years, Goose and Ellen open up about the realities of living on the road full-time, without a physical house as a base. With several different vehicles that they've called home, in two countries, over three years, they are definitely pros at this. In this episode they share the highlights - like waking up for sunrise every morning; and open up about the challenges - like rolling your van (aka house) on a rural road. They also talk about the hilarious wtf moments (warning: not safe for work). For Goose and Ellen, living in a van has given them the freedom and flexibility to travel around the Aotearoa. They're now based in Kaikōura, 16 seconds away from the beach, with the mountains as their backdrop, working dream jobs as opportunities arose from living on the road and having the time to hone their skills. Goose and Ellen's advice to anyone that wants to live a similar lifestyle on the road - just do it!

007: Walking the Length of the South Island with Aimee Roberts
Épisode 7
vendredi 8 juillet 2022 • Durée 53:20
The Te Araroa Trail stretches from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the south. Aimee Roberts spent a couple of months walking the South Island section of the trail over summer. While it’s impossible to condense her experience into a short conversation, Aimee shares snippets into what it was like - bathtubs in the middle of the backcountry, the bluest water she’d ever seen, getting lost and climbing an unnecessary hill, crossing waist deep streams in a human chain, being woken by possums at 3am, even giving a fellow walker a tattoo!! We talk about Aimee’s challenges, her feelings, the people she met and the things that surprised her most. Buckle up, you’re in for a wild ride and you're guaranteed to be grinning throughout the whole episode just like I was.

003: Hiking the Kepler Track in Fiordland with Dua
Épisode 3
vendredi 10 juin 2022 • Durée 44:02
Dua's journey of growth from the Kepler Track being her first ever hike to being her first multiday hike a couple years later is inspiring. Her passion for Aotearoa, the outdoors, and hiking was so evident through her stories and through her voice. I am so in awe of her being the representation that she didn’t see growing up, breaking stereotypes and sharing her story as a hijabi that loves hiking and camping.
