The Support Gap for Families of Multiples with Silje Anderson-Cooke from the Australian Multiple Birth Assocation (AMBA)

Saison 1 · Épisode 2

mardi 17 mars 2026Durée 01:14:07

This week marks Multiple Birth Awareness Week, a time dedicated to recognising the unique experiences and challenges faced by families raising twins, triplets and more.

In this episode, we speak with Silje, Chairperson of the Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA) and a mum to triplets and a six-year-old. Alongside her advocacy work, Silje brings powerful lived experience to the conversation about what it really looks like to raise multiples.

We talk about why awareness matters, the gaps that still exist in support for multiples families, and what needs to change so parents navigating pregnancy, birth and life with multiples feel better seen and supported.

Because raising multiples is a completely different experience — and families of multiples deserve support that reflects that.

Welcome to All At Once

Saison 1 · Épisode 1

lundi 16 mars 2026Durée 59:39

Welcome to the very first episode of All At Once — the podcast all about life with multiples.

Before we dive into conversations with experts, advocates and other parents of twins, triplets and more, we thought it only made sense to start at the beginning and introduce ourselves.

In this episode, Gabi and Sinead share their own stories of becoming mums of multiples — how their journeys unfolded, what life really looks like raising twins, and the conversation that sparked the idea for this podcast.

Because the truth is, All At Once started with a simple realisation: there wasn’t really a dedicated space for the honest, messy, funny and emotional stories of raising multiples. So we decided to create one.

This episode is all about who we are, how we ended up on this wild ride, and why we’re so passionate about building a community for parents navigating life with multiples.

If you’re a twin parent, expecting multiples, or simply curious about what life looks like when everything happens all at once, you’re in the right place.

Welcome — we’re so glad you’re here. 🎙️

Twin Pregnancy Explained: Risks, Birth & The Mental Load with Sinead’s OB Dr Drew Moffrey

Saison 1 · Épisode 3

lundi 23 mars 2026Durée 01:05:16

Twin pregnancy is often labelled “high risk”… but what does that actually look like when you’re the one living it?

In this episode of All At Once, we’re joined by Dr Drew Moffrey — Sinead’s obstetrician — to have a real, honest conversation about pregnancy with twins.

We unpack the different types of twins,, why there are so many extra scans and appointments, and what doctors are actually looking for along the way.

We also talk through birth — the options, the unknowns, and the scenarios you don’t always expect — as well as what happens after, including NICU and how families are supported in those early days.

But more than anything, this episode dives into the emotional side of it all — the mental load, the overwhelm, and how to advocate for yourself without feeling like you’re “too much.”

If you’re pregnant with twins, in the thick of it, or just trying to understand the world of multiples — this one’s for you.

Mum Guilt, Rage & Why It Feels So Heavy with Multiples

Saison 1 · Épisode 4

lundi 30 mars 2026Durée 50:19

Most mothers of multiples grapple with the unspoken weight of mum guilt—and here’s why that feeling might actually be a sign you’re doing a better job than you think.

In this episode, we’re getting really honest about mum guilt, mum rage, and the mental load of raising multiples — because wow, it’s a lot.

We talk about the parts no one really says out loud: the overwhelm, the overstimulation, the moments where you feel like you’re being pulled in a million directions and still somehow not doing enough.

Sinead shares what it’s been like grieving the version of motherhood she imagined before twins — and how she’s learning to make peace with what it actually looks like. Gabi opens up about juggling a toddler and newborn twins, the guilt that comes with feeling split between them, and the emotional load of trying to be everything to everyone.

In this ep, we chat about:

  • Mum guilt with multiples
  • Those moments where mum rage sneaks in (and you’re like… where did that come from?)
  • The version of motherhood we thought we’d have versus what it actually looks like
  • The mental load of multiples and why it can feel so relentless
  • Trying (and often failing) to find a bit of space for ourselves
  • Why talking about this stuff out loud actually helps

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or like you’re not quite getting it right — this one is for you.

Because honestly? Most days we’re not thriving — we’re surviving. And that’s more than enough.

We cover the real challenges of feeding two babies, creating routines, surviving sleepless nights, and Dr Golly answers listener questions on everything from managing sickness to toddler sleep, breast refusal and reflux.
