Welcome to the Traveling with Kristin Podcast
00:11:39
Badass Digital Nomads has been officially changed to the Traveling with Kristin podcast! 🎉 Listen in to find out what you can expect moving forward. Thank you to everyone who voted in the name change polls, sent messages, and provided feedback in our Google Form. Our entire team appreciates your contribution!
Thank you also to everyone who has left a 5-star review this month! Featured review from listener, Katie Clark:
One of my favorite podcasts!!! I really enjoy this podcast because it inspires and educates me about the digital nomad lifestyle. I love learning about all the ways people travel, about the locations, about the lifestyle. Kristin is a wonderful host/interviewer. I love her travel stories, digital nomad tips, all the wisdom she shares as well as her guests! Thank you Kristin for this awesome podcast!!
The number of U.S. expats living abroad is equivalent to being the 11th-largest state in the country. But barely 4% of us turn out to vote! Expats have the lowest voter turnout of any demographic in the United States - lower than high school students - and the same phenomena is probably happening in every country. If you're living outside of your home country right now (or planning to move abroad someday), this episode is a must-listen!
Tune in to hear from Nicole Greenfield, aka The Nomad Activist, a digital nomad and political activist who reached out to Kristin to speak about this topic and how we can change it.
Your vote matters. If every American expat voted, we would easily change the outcomes of current and future elections.
Vote absentee, vote early, and spread the word to your expat friends! Let’s make a change!

The Dangers of Work From Home Burnout and What to Do About It
00:59:59
Have you felt more tired, stressed, negative, or ineffective since you started working remotely? If so, you may be burnt out. But you’re not alone.
Work-from-home burnout is quickly becoming the next societal health crisis. A reported 70% of Americans have experienced burnout since the pandemic started, up from 52% in May.
Rather than a medical condition, the World Health Organization (WHO) describes burnout as an “occupational phenomenon” or “syndrome” stemming from chronic, unaddressed work stress.
Working remotely offers the potential for more flexibility and work-life balance. Unfortunately, most people are replacing their daily commutes with more time at their desks.
I'm no doctor, but I've experienced burnout multiple times in my career - including last week - when I had to call 911 from my home.
Tune into today's episode to hear what happened and how you can avoid work-from-home burnout in the future.

More From Gavin:
"In Case We Haven’t Met, I’m Gavin Bell. I live and breath Facebook ads & funnels. Nothing beats helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses and generate revenue using my proven Facebook ad strategies. Last year my agency managed over $1m in client advertising spend. One client selling an online programme, generated over £650,000 in profit and one Scottish Football Club sold over £200,000 worth of season tickets with the strategies I teach on this site for free. I’m also a speaker and vlogger, so I don’t just talk the talk… I walk the walk. I speak on stages across the world and share my journey through my videos. In the past year, my videos have been seen by over 1.8 million people worldwide. It’s fair to say I know how to make Facebook work for you. I know how frustrating Facebook ads can be. The industry is littered with gurus making up numbers and selling you onto their high ticket programmes. It’s a minefield. Here’s hoping I can put an end to that."

What I Hate About Living Abroad
00:41:10
In this podcast, I talk about what I hate (more like strongly dislike) about living abroad while sharing stories and examples of how moving to a foreign country has challenged me, caused me to miss out on important events back home, and has made me feel like an outsider. I speak on my experience struggling with cultural adaptations, dating, dealing with homesickness, and so much more.
In all honesty, living abroad isn’t always a magical, euphoric part of life. Traveling comes with many challenges and difficulties! There’s always going to be bumps in the roads, so it’s important to prepare for them if you can.
The insights and challenges I share with you in this podcast will help you in preparing to live abroad. Although there will be challenges to overcome, the positive aspects of moving to a foreign country greatly outweigh the negatives.

How to Upgrade Your Lifestyle and Travel More by Downsizing Your Cost-of-Living (YouTube Live Stream)
00:33:43
You want to travel more; you want to have more freedom. How? One of the things that becoming a remote worker allows you to do is escape the rat race. Start living below your means. STOP caring about "keeping up with the Joneses (or Kardashians, for that matter)."
Remote work makes the social climb irrelevant and unmasks it for what it is - something Naval Ravikant calls a stupid game where you win stupid social prizes.
What if that weren’t even a factor in your life anymore? Completely irrelevant?
Sometimes I see digital nomads flying in first class on Instagram and I just laugh because they are living these amazing lives that no one can even see. Because you don’t park your BMW in front of an office when you work remotely. And it’s a beautiful thing.
When you’re a digital nomad, you’re living your best life for you. It doesn’t matter who sees it. And it’s so fulfilling.
