29 Jul 2019EP06 - Raw Deal01:24:37
By all objective standards "Raw Deal" is not a good movie. The plot is convoluted, the direction is terrible and above all it is so boring. The meltdown the brothers have over this movie will come to be the stuff of Schwartzy pod legend. Listen for Aleks' renowned pizza order, a feminist analysis and the critique of the institution of policing. Plus it's funny.

09 Sep 2019EP12 - Kindergarten Cop02:00:37
On this episode the brothers discuss their second Ivan Reitman film:
Kindergarten Cop. They've noticed a pattern: Reitman loves haphazardly exploring questions of "manhood", through transgressive characters who experience redemptive story arcs while being cluelessly misogynistic and homophobic. They are joined by brilliant sociology grad student: Ana Vujosevic who discusses the feminist merits of the character of Phoebe and the baby voice merits of the character of Emma! The brothers discuss James Cameron's hugely problematic "True Lies". From the cartoonish portrayal of middle eastern terrorists, to the pervasive misogynistic dialogue, to Eliza Dushku's very real Me-Too experience, this film is mired in 2019 controversy. Despite its numerous problems the brothers delight in the masterful direction with returning guest and friend of the show: Vancouver based Indigenous filmmaker Kays Vanderest. 14 Oct 2019EP17 - Junior01:59:03
When you think of Pantheon Schwartzy do you think of the movie “Junior”? This week the brothers ponder if Reitman got more woke in 94? Are Emma Thompson, Danny Devito and Schwartzy a thropple in this film? Is Emma Thompson’s character queer? Is she in a queer relationship with Schwartzy? Is this movie also lowkey about abortion? These questions and many more are brought to fruition with the earnest grace of special guest sex educator: Kay Trace.

Friend of the show Leila Darragh joins the brothers to discuss “The 6th Day” which is basically an awkward low rent Total Recall. This is one of those movies that scares you about technology. Wonder no more and get into the spirit of the holidays with the brothers on a very special Christmas Schwartzy. "Christmas in Connecticut" is a 1992 holiday TV movie that has all the ingredients of a hallmark Christmas movie with an offbeat Lynchian tone that makes it a must-watch for Schwartzy fans and cinephiles alike.

The last in a mini series of "Proto-Schwartzy" episodes where the brothers revisit previously unreleased early episodes of the show. "Stay Hungry" is a 1976 comedy-drama directed by Bob Rafelson and starring the amazing Jeff Bridges, Sally Field and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger. A very unusual film in the Schwartzy cannon, but one that should definitely not be overlooked. Once again the brothers discuss the magic of 70's movie endings while marvelling at the performances of this incredibly talented young cast. A hidden gem in the Schwartzy cannon! 13 Jan 2020EP32 - Terminator 3 Rise Of The Machines01:59:18
Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines doesn’t have the strength of its convictions. It doesn’t commit to being the part three of a beloved franchise. The insecurities are very clear in the writing; like the way the film tries to make a joke out of everything that had previously been celebrated. The brothers read the film to shit for it. However, it is not without its choice camp moments! Listen to the bros enthusiastically lambast this lesser, but ultimately fun sequel.

27 Jan 2020EP34 - Around The World In 80 Days01:06:55
Around The World In 80 Days is a remake of the Jules Vern classic starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan. Much like The Rundown this film provides the brothers with an opportunity to compare and contrast two legendary performers: Jackie and Schwartzy. The "Governator" years of Schwartzy's career saw him doing brownface in this brief but, jarring racist cameo.

02 Mar 2020EP39 - Sabotage01:41:49
“Sabotage” may suffer from that weird David Ayer Netflix syndrome where it seems like a good thing…but is never quite a good thing. However the brothers were delighted to find that this movie contained some of the most compelling Schwarzty acting to date. Ultimately the B movie quality weighs down Schwartzy’s muscular, but elderly shoulders. The film is still very worth checking out as is this delightful episode where the brothers also dig a little deeper into their past and work through some unresolved shit. Not to be missed!

To tackle an episode of such mammoth proportions the brothers are joined by the original Predator gang to elaborate on the ensemble of a much more geriatric franchise. Friends and associate producers of the show: Lee and Kays give their much anticipated action hero hottakes in an episode so gargantuan it spans an entire continent. Some surprise tension arises among the old gang and they have to go on one more mission to gain a deeper understanding of their friendship and we're not even talking about the movie! This is one for the history books! Jam packed with all the laughs, drama and excitement you've come to know and love from the show! A landmark episode. Classic Schwartzy.

16 Mar 2020EP41 - Maggie01:58:41
The themes that come up in "Maggie" are strangely prescient and timely. What if the ability of one nation's health care system was put to the test by a global pandemic? What if a regular midwestern family had to deal with the repercussions of such a lack of preparedness??z Surely this couldn't be real life! It's Maggie! The brothers talk about all this and more with star guest: Willow Weber; who has returned to Schwartzy studios after her voice was stolen in the now infamous lost episode. Lots self-isolated laughs to be had in this one! Hilarious ep! Don't miss it!

23 Mar 2020EP42 - Terminator Genisys02:00:31
Sometimes it takes a really bad movie to make a really fun episode. Terminator Genisys is that movie. And this is that episode. The brothers are joined by friend and film connoisseur Keenan Marr Tamblyn to discuss this ludicrously exposition and CGI heavy blockbuster failure. Some hilarious iconic phrases in this one coupled with copious audio drops and the deepest cut references for your viewing pleasure. Stay safe and indoors friends of the show!

30 Mar 2020EP43 - Aftermath01:39:51
"Aftermath" is a film that proves that Arnold Schwarzenegger is full of surprises. The film is a performance driven, slow burn melodrama that examines two different perspectives of grief, loss and depression. Listen to the brothers struggle to make the sombre material funny for their faithful audience while interrupting each other even more so than usual.

06 Apr 2020EP44 - Killing Gunther01:32:51
Killing Gunther is a mocumentary about a misfit team of assassins that tries to kill the best hitman in the world. Played by Schwartzy of course. But this movie is terrible. And the brothers hated watching, but they really enjoyed talking to each other about it. You will enjoy listening to it. Schwartzy is almost over. So listen while they're still being released! 13 Apr 2020EP45 - Viy 201:42:23
Viy 2: Journey To China: Mystery of Iron Mask is a strange Russo-Chinese co-production. It is billed as starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, but they're really more of a C plot much to the chagrin of everyone who watched this. The movie is not without its charm though because of how hard it commits to its weird choices. The brothers are here for it and this time they are joined again by Eraser and Jackie Chan super fan Jake Roels! Who brings his skilled eye for production to this strange anomaly of a film
20 Apr 2020EP46 - Back To The Future (side A)01:23:33
Was the movie Back To The Future Reagan's secret weapon in defeating the USSR and ending the cold war? Is the fact that George McFly is of Irish decent representative of aspirational whiteness in the 1950's? Does this movie somehow comment on race, class, gender, and sexual violence issues while also at the same time being incredibly problematic? The brothers discuss the answer to all of these questions and more on their first post-Schwartzy episode! You won't want to miss it! The episode was so big they had to pack it into two completely different episodes both being posted today! So don't forget to download Side B as well!

11 May 2020EP52 - Bloodsport01:57:05
Welcome to Season 2 of Thirsty For More - Jean Pod Van Damme. A season long deep dive into the illustrious career of the great JCVD. Fresh off the successful Back To The Future mini dive the brothers start season 2 off with a bang. Bloodsport was JCVD's first foray into the mainstream. The (fake) true story of Frank Dux a passionate young (Belgian?) American fighter trained by Shidoshi Tanaka. Frank Dux goes to Hong Kong to fight the ultimate MMA battle called the Kumite. Where he finds, danger, intrigue and romance. The brothers relive this classic film with friend of the show and associate producer Kays Vanderest who brings many personal anecdotes about this film with him. Great episode! Not to be missed!

18 May 2020EP53 - Cyborg01:42:11
Cyborg is a low budget post-apocalyptic sci-fi, action, adventure film. The movie follows a pair of young heroes who attempt to safely escort a cyborg carrying valuable information about a cure for a plague that has ravaged the world. However our heroes must battle with a gang of nefarious street pirates led by the evil Fender a bad guy with an icy stare. The brothers find a lot of joy in revisiting this over the top, campy feature finding a great deal redeeming qualities in it and even managing to coin a new phrase: #post-apocalyptic-empathy. You heard it here first!

25 May 2020EP54 - Kickboxer02:19:31
Kickboxer is a tragically problematic fan fav in the JCVD cannon. The film fosters a perfect mix of late 80s tone deaf racism + sexism, preparation montages and badass boss beating! The brothers go deep with their analysis on this one at times even psychoanalyzing each other when things get heated. Classic JCVD. The nostalgia meter is turned up high on this one. Enjoy!

01 Jun 2020EP55 - Lionheart02:08:55
Lionheart is a B movie. Through and through. It struggles from all of the pitfalls of your traditional B movie including exorbitant amounts of insidious racism. But like its main character Lionheart has heart and that makes it an enjoyable watch. When a legionnaire discovers that his brother has been critically injured he risks everything to seek out his sister-in-law and niece. He engages in dangerous underground street fights in order to financially support his family. The brothers take great joy in dissecting this movie. This is also the first movie to feature Vojo a cult figure from the brothers' native region.

08 Jun 2020EP56 - Death Warrant02:00:31
The brothers continue to cover JCVD movies with strangely timely discussions of race in the context of corrupt systemic oppression. Death Warrant is a terrible B movie that has really strange tone deaf early 90's style racism implicit in the writing and directing (also a disturbing rape scene executed by the film's main protagonist and not commented on and presented like it was totally normal) . However despite these many glaring flaws the film contains some fantastic performances from many fine character actors.

The brothers are back! from a much needed break! Ready to give you more content about your favourite B movie A-lister JCVD. This time the brothers cover Double Impact (1991). A zany action romp with double trouble... not one, but two JCVDs. Van Dammm plays a sensi boi and a mean one both they're both kind of creeps. Lots of great cameos. 14 Sep 2020EP58 - Universal Soldier02:04:55
Is Universal Soldier the equivalent of JCVD's Terminator? Probably. This movie reaches for Terminator levels of glory ultimately failing to transcend... But despite budgetary constraints and some pretty shaky writing this movie perseveres and achieves legendary status in a different way; much like how the brothers have noticed JCVD seems to be keen on doing. Listen as the brothers revel in this subtle JCVD performance and in the bombastic over-the-topness of Dolph Lundgren. This movie is truly an understated gem. Get into it!

21 Sep 2020EP59 - Nowhere To Run01:56:37
The 90s were a bit of confused era where a movie could exist in a weird space between zany child's film, drama social commentary and mindless action. 1993's Nowhere To Run scratches all those itches. 05 Oct 2020EP61 - Timecop02:10:29
Timecop (1994) is a really strange "what if" story. It centres around a reality in which time travel existed in 1994 and how policy and wealth distribution might look in dystopian 2004 future where these ripples in time are most strongly felt. This film adopts a "No Fate" or "future hasn't been written yet" reality where one can only go into the past and change the present. The future cannot be reached because it hasn't happened yet! For a movie with kind of a zany time travel premise it was surprisingly accurate at predicting some things and is accompanied by a FANTASTIC JCVD performance! Join the brothers as they welcome the return of beloved guest Ana for this really intimate and fun family discussion of this surprisingly prescient movie.

He takes them to the final game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs but is caught in the middle of some political intrigue he hadn't anticipated. With an unbelievable villainous performance the enigmatic Powers Booth, Sudden Death goes into overtime with some interesting nuanced power dynamics. A fun romp! This movie is definitely JCVD's Die Hard. This week the brothers are joined by Toronto performance artist Dylan Berry. 26 Oct 2020EP64 - The Quest01:21:34
The Quest (1996) is Van Damme's directorial debut! It has all the classic JCVD staples: A journey of self discovery, a blonde woman who is given no character development at all and a Kumite style tournament. This one had some cool stuff going for it though...like James Bond and Abdell Qissi also the idea came from disgraced liar Frank Dux. Also its a period piece. Surprisingly great conversation with the bros on this one!

09 Nov 2020EP66 - Double Team01:51:49
Double Team is one of those weird late 90s anomalies. Is it a comedy? Is it sci-fi? Is it action? Is it basketball? Also North Korea's most famous ambassador: Dennis Rodman gives a solid debut performance despite what critics and razzie awards say. Ultimately this movie doesn't know what it wants to be and flounders around a bit, but how can you argue with a Mickey Rourke villain performance? You can't that's how. The bros dissect every element and get into the nitty gritty here. Much love from the brothers

16 Nov 2020EP67 - Knock Off01:39:25
Knock Off is a total diamond in the rough. Our second Van Damme pairing with Hong Kong director Tsui Hark. Also our second comically odd Van Damme coupling this time with Happy Madison alum Rob Schneider. This film fires on all cylinders! With wild action, kooky comedy and one of the best theme songs ever written for a movie. The outlandish performance given by Van Damme is enough to make this movie and T4M episode the stuff of legend! While officially the end of Silver Era Van Damme Aleks makes the argument for this to be included in Pantheon Van Damme. Did we mention the theme song?
23 Nov 2020EP68 - Legionnaire01:44:51
The brothers had no idea that Legionnaire (1998) would be the war time epic melodrama that both of them needed. This subtle slow burn masterpiece was directed Peter MacDonald one of the first directors to really trust Van Damme's acting abilities. It is a thoughtful exploration of various intersections of masculinity and addresses the nuances of the toxicity within all on the back drop of the devastation of imperialism and war. Very thought provoking film. With some amazing casting and great performances. The brothers cannot speak of it highly enough!

30th anniversary celebration of Home Alone (1990)! The holiday season is nearing. The days are getting shorter and the air is getting colder. The brothers have decided to revisit this classic film on the heels of its 30th anniversary! Hear them delight at the creatively sadistic nihilism, the exuberant "feel good" capitalism, and the character growth of an 8 year old left to their own devices (devices indeed). True to form the bros discuss the film in intricate detail making some exciting JCVD and other action movie parallels along the way. 14 Dec 2020EP71 - Home Alone 2 Lost In New York02:10:50
You loved part one! Now come relive many of your fav moments in a diluted cash grab sequel that despite its vapidness still manages to be pretty gall darn hilarious! The brothers talk more about the way class is represented in this movie through the contrasts of the excesses of the plaza hotel juxtaposed against the poverty stricken pigeon lady. Also she looks like Susan Boyle and Piers Morgan. Revisit your fav dysfunctional family and see the logical conclusion of being consistently neglected as a child! Kevin goes full on antagonistic socio in this film and it's rather interesting. Plus Tim Curry is an absolutely delightful performer. For what this film lacks in spirit it makes up for in decent oneliners and some pretty fun gags! Definitely still Pantheon! Definitely still classic childhood. Just not as good as the first despite what some people try to tell you. Hear the bros make that case in this fucking hilarious episode. Seriously funny ep. Don't miss it! As many of you have undoubtedly heard just last week there was a failed attempt at an insurrection by white supremacists at the Capitol in the United States. This call to arms was led by outgoing US president and disgrace of a human being Donald Trump who has spent the last four years reinventing the notion of what a piece of shit is. Famed Republican (lite) and our childhood hero Arnold Schwarzenegger (Schwartzy) decided to weigh in on the issue releasing a well produced and compelling rebuke that harkens back to a "simpler" time when deep partisanship could be put away in the service of a common good. The video's message, like Schwartzy himself, comes off as fairly idealistic and naive, but provokes a stimulating conversation that ranges from American politics to attempts at deeper sociological themes with the brothers. And allows them to get more political within the framework of the show's theme!

18 Jan 2021EP75 - Inferno01:17:42
After a brief pause on the JCVD season the bros are back with Inferno (1999). They take the show on another walking ASMR adventure. Join them in the suburbs of southern Ontario as the snow gentle crunches beneath their feet while they discuss this decidedly low budget but interesting film. Rocky director: John G. Avildsen's last feature film. He was reportedly so dismayed by this movie that he asked for an Alan Smithee credit but was ultimately rejected. Inferno is an exercise in semiotics: the good the bad and the ugly. (In this case the ugly being the movie's horrendous racism). A strange late century take on a Western, or maybe more accurately a Southern. We see some familiar T4M faces show up in this one: including Danny Trejo and a surprise Home Alone alum sure to excite the most devoted of our fans.

A nebulous noteless episode. Enjoy the walk. Enjoy the crunch. This one's for you!

25 Jan 2021EP76 - Replicant02:09:13
Join the brothers as they discuss fan fav: Replicant: Ringo Lam's second double trouble outing with JCVD. Despite this being a Jean Claude podcast this movie is memorable for being a Michael Rooker vehicle. Michael Rooker of course being a celebrated cult movie actor that the brothers thoroughly enjoy and a guy that Aleks does an impeccable impression of. Fast forward through the first 10 mins of Alex Jones impressions and casual musings on the damaging effects of right wing media. How is Alex Jones similar to Corey Taylor from Slipknot? Listen to find out. Back to the movie tho... Ringo Lam's pseudo-scfi action romp doesn't live up to the legendary status of Maximum Risk, but tests the range limitations of its wonderful cast. An extremely watchable highly kinetic film that the brothers loved. Not an episode to miss!

01 Feb 2021EP77 - The Order00:58:13
The Order has all the ingredients to make the special sauce of a great Van Damme movie: directed by JCVD veteran Sheldon Lettich, cameos by Charlton Heston, Brian Thompson and Abdel Qissi, a great cast and religious intrigue! How could it go wrong? Well it does my friends. This film is so bad in fact that it takes the mantle for worst film ever reviewed by this podcast. However the brothers manage to make a short and sweet entertaining romp reviewing this garbage. The brothers marvel at the few redeeming qualities of this film like the great performance by Sofia Milos. It's pretty shit otherwise. Enjoy the ep!

08 Feb 2021EP78 - In Hell01:41:45
Is "In Hell" a metaphorical musing on the pervasiveness and all encompassing dangers of toxic masculinity that affects every single person that comes in contact with it? Is the hell that the title speaks of: a world in which we are all sentenced to a predetermined prison of violence and patriarchy at the hands of many others and sometimes even ourselves included? Milenko seems to think this is the case. Listen as Milenko makes the case for his thesis to a more skeptical Aleks. Listen to the bros dissect veteran JCVD director Ringo Lam's final film with the actor. Classic prison movie set up with many familiar (and sometimes unfortunate) tropes. However this film is able to transcend some tropes as it reaches for greatness ultimately failing, but making a valiant effort. A more heady ep from the bros. Enjoy!

15 Feb 2021EP79 - JCVD01:57:13
When you all heard that we'd be doing a Van Damme season this was undoubtedly the top movie on your minds. JCVD (2008) is the movie that turned Van Damme into: JCVD... Truly bringing him into the 21st century by giving him an enviable renaissance and a chance to flex his acting biceps. Director Mabrouk el Mechri does a masterful job in capturing the essence of what has made JCVD a lasting global phenomenon and why he has enjoyed a sustained cross-cultural appeal as opposed to some of his other contemporaries. This film has become a model for a perfect gritty indie comeback. Perspective shifting all over the place while playing fast and loose with the fourth wall and an uninterrupted 6 min career defining monologue that could have been its own award winning short film. To quote the Times: Don't give him a blackbelt! Give him an Oscar! The brothers wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. One of the best podcast episodes we've ever done! Big film! JCVD.

22 Feb 2021EP80 - Dragon Eyes01:04:27
Dragon Eyes is a little disappointing after the massive performance of our previous film: JCVD but the show must go on! Milenko is really disappointed out of the gate with this movie however Aleks ends up bringing him back around. There's a lot to get excited about this John Hyams feature: Peter Weller gives a strange gonzo performance. JCVD gets "and" credit status! And we get a slew of amazing MMA fighter performances not the least of which is the breakout role of Cung Le! Who does a fantastic job in his first role.

Fun ep!

01 Mar 2021EP81 - The Arsenio Hall Tapes01:19:03
Van Damme's appearances on The Arsenio Hall Show are the stuff of legend. Their ability to play off of each other transcends your average late night show appearance. In this episode the brother examine these appearances and re live some of the iconic pop culture moments that helped catapult the young actor into super stardom. The brother look at the appearances with the knowledge that soon this golden era would come crashing down for JCVD and they examine the appearances in the broader context of this season of Thirsty For More. 08 Mar 2021EP82 - Universal Soldier Regeneration01:23:28
The brothers took their John Hyams film journey slightly out of order positioning the Universal Soldier: Regeneration episode after the Dragon Eyes ep. This proved to be a smart choice because all of the glimmers of excellence observable in Dragon Eyes were on FULL DISPLAY in Regeneration. A gritty sequel that doesn't focus on the logistics of the scifi aspect for too long. This film takes all the best aspects of the first Universal Soldier film and turns them up. High octane. Thrilling. Strangely philosophical. With an EPIC Dolph performance. This episode also features fan fav guest and designer of the T4M artwork: Keenan Marr Tamblyn. 15 Mar 2021EP83 - Universal Soldier Day Of Reckoning01:53:33
Universal Soldier Day of Reckoning is a really strange, violent and thoughtful art movie. John Hyams gives the viewer the beloved franchise characters in a meta way using the first film's own mythos to comment back on itself, filmmaking, violence and culture while also just being really cool and fun. Van Damme is subdued, regal and almost godlike in this role while Dolph doles out the enterainment. Scott Adkins does an impressive job at humbly but expertly taking the torch from his revered predecessor. The brothers are joined once again by special guest star Keenan Marr Tamblyn who discusses his new trading card art project that you can find @discodromeart Enjoy this really fun episode!

22 Mar 2021EP84 - Kickboxer Vengeance01:27:27
Kickboxer Vengeance is an outlier. A remake of a classic JCVD movie that is very dear to the brothers. Kurt and Eric Sloan are back only this time way less charming and interesting! And this time Van Damme is the teacher and the real Tong Po is in jail. One night after a failed attempt to download the remake and record the episode of the show the brothers decide to do a walk and talk preamble where they discuss their expectations for the movie. They have a loose conversation about the institution of remakes in general, comparing biopics to remakes and talking about the merits of a remake with a visionary director vs someone who doesn't have the fire! The brothers have a strikingly opinions about this soft reboot and it plays out over an endearing conversation before and after having seen the movie. Stay for the hilarious jokes.

29 Mar 2021EP85 - Jean Claude Van Johnson01:45:19
In another first for the show the brothers cover an original series called: Jean Claude Van Johnson. In this somewhat off beat action comedy Van Damme gets to show a lot of range as the meek Filip, as the badass Van Johnson and as the vulnerable Van Varenberg. Another meta outing for Van Damme that avoids getting stale by really committing to the meta self-parody to the point of sincerity. A very strange an interesting show with a great support cast. Not an episode to miss for fans of JCVD.

05 Apr 2021EP86 - The Bouncer01:33:43
The final episode of the Jean Pod Van Damme season of the show. The film the brothers chosen for the last episode of the season is The Bouncer. A gritty low budget Euro art film take on the classic Van Damme style plot of 'saving a loved one" This film roots that story in the reality of a working class single father with a sordid past. Van Damme is very stoic Van Damme in this movie. He is kind of intense but very calm and collected. The main crime boss, Jan calls Van Damme a survivor in this movie and honestly that's the perfect way to describe him both on and off screen. An excellent and emotional ending to a fantastic JCVD season!

Thank you to all who joined us along the way. We'll be continuing with the Alien series. So stick around after to listen to the new mini dive!
26 Apr 2021EP87 - Alien02:38:39
On the heels of a successfully completed second season Thirsty For More is back with an Alien Franchise mini-dive! The brothers are joined by resident Alien expert and Ripley doppelgänger Leila Darragh as third host while they dive deep into this most Pantheon of series! A well rounded discussion including: working class heroes, malfunction cumrobots, anal-bead entrails along with some pretty major bombshells dropped as the trio discuss Ridley Scott's classic film! 10 May 2021EP89 - Alien 301:54:20
Is Alien3 the dark horse of the series? Is Bishop 2 a droid? Which is better: Alien birthed of dog or ox? All these questions and more are tackled in this episode. In addition to making the case for this much maligned sequel this episode serves as continued in depth analysis of the Ripley mythos: (ie: Leila's Ripley as Persephone theory!). Excellent episode! 17 May 2021EP90 - Alien Resurrection02:18:49
Alien Resurrection is a movie that needs to justify its own existence to its audience especially on the heels of Ripley's ultimate sacrifice. But what better way to continue our heroine's story than to lean into the Christ metaphor and resurrect her with late 90s-era cloning hysteria? Jean Pierre Jeunet earns his audience trust in this film by striking a decidedly goofier tone in this bizarre/grotesque romp that ends up demystifying the alien while honouring the Ripley narrative in a surprisingly satisfying way. Once again we get a stellar ensemble of misfits and some very impersonate-able moments that will leave you thirsty for more. Aleks wears the dunce cap in this ep for losing his audio and causing the gang to rerecord the episode and then having crunchy audio in his re-recording, but he makes up for it by yelling a lot. The gang gives Ripley a fitting send off as they finally complete the Quadrilogy including an emotional tribute from Leila at the end of the episode. You don't want to miss this one!

Enjoy!

24 May 2021EP91 - Prometheus02:21:20
What could we possibly say about Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" that hasn't already been said by a million online think-pieces and deep youtube divers? A lot apparently. In many ways Prometheus is the perfect movie to hate because it encapsulates just how spectacular a failure can be. You can have a brilliant well directed piece of shit especially if you trust Damon Lidelof to write your script! This movie is profoundly shitty. But one must not gloss over the profundity of its shittiness. It is a brilliant exemplification of that tired cliche: so bad it's good. Except with Prometheus it's actually so bad: it's legendary. This conversation about this movie makes for the greatest almost standalone episode of the series! Brilliant talk! Jolly good fun! Enjoy!

31 May 2021EP92 - Alien Covenant02:11:29
On the heels of their relentless Prometheus hit-piece episode the trio goes in on the slightly better, but ultimately disappointing sequel Alien: Covenant. Revel in the homoerotic flute lesson between David and his polite twin Walter (I'll do the fingering); and enjoy the antics of this couples' retreat gone awry in which Ridley Scott explores all the ways an alien can burst out of a body. Did you want to know more about the Engineers (Space Jockeys)? Well fuck you says Covenant! Have your dreams of learning anything insightful dashed along with the trio's. Leila continues to stan David (soulless Pinocchio); Milenko provides a delightful recap at the top of the ep; and Aleks continues to find any excuse to call things cum. Enjoy!

21 Jun 2021EP93 - Alien vs Predator01:42:05
The gang reaches further into the depths of the xeno-verse this time welcoming back to the show the Predator-verse in 2004's: Alien vs Predator. Who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned monster mashup? Fun fact: This is Jimmy Cameron's 3rd fav movie of the Alien franchise. Which is hilarious. Along with the classic movie recap you've come to know and love from the xeno-trio you'll have a chance to hear special AvP thoughts from friends of the show: Catherine Abreu and Kays Vanderest!

Enjoy the episode!

28 Jun 2021EP94 - Alien vs Predator Requiem01:32:03
The last official episode of the Alien franchise mini dive! And what a note to end on! AvP: Requiem is a weird mid 2000s Alien and Predator movie masquerading as teen horror thriller/disaster movie. It's sort of like if someone tried to mash up Riverdale/Scream/Armageddon and then just put Aliens and Predators. The movie answers a bunch of questions that no one asked such as: What would happen if a Predator/Alien hybrid forcibly impregnated people at the maternity ward with triplet aliens that bust out of a preggo belly? Another question that is answered is: What would happen if we just callously got a small vulnerable child facehugged? For no reason. Anyway the gang has a lot of fun eye-rolling to this movie while providing a veritable cornucopia of fresh references and drops in this ultimately disappointing campy sequel! Enjoy!!
