16 Jul 2023Embracing Authenticity with Kristina Mand-Lakhiani00:45:10

Do you embrace every facet of your authentic self? What does authenticity really even mean?

International speaker, entrepreneur, artist, philanthropist, mother, and cofounder of Mindvalley, Kristina Mand-Lakhiani, joins me to discuss her new book, “Becoming Flawesome” and how we can begin embracing authenticity.

Listen in to hear where authenticity comes from and what it truly is, how we can remain authentic when different parts of our lives are clashing, how you can still experience imposter syndrome despite being authentic, and more!

Topics We Discuss:

  • [1:15]  Kristina’s career path. When she married her former husband, she left behind her country and career to start Mindvalley from scratch with him. She wasn’t initially passionate about self-help, but grew to love it. Her new book, “Becoming Flawesome”, embodies the unconventional path she’s taken and diverges from many traditional structures of self-help novels.

  • [5:08] Mistakes in the self-help industry. It’s often romanticized, surface-level, and dogmatic. The book isn’t meant to tear down the self-help industry, but she isn’t afraid to acknowledge where it sometimes comes up short.

  • [6:34] Success vs happiness. Many people subconsciously associate being successful with being “good” and chase this to be liked thinking that will bring them happiness. Happiness is more abstract, success is more easily quantifiable. Hustle culture and the idea of flow are two sides of the same coin of productivity, which are tied to success. Kristina wants people to look past these two entirely and look at happiness.

  • [13:13] Understanding authenticity. Authenticity is the result of your relationship with yourself. Many people try to put on a show for others, but tending to ourselves paves the way for us to feel strong in who we are. Our relationships with others can also help us come back into ourselves.

  • [22:41] Are masks counter to authenticity? Masks are required for social interaction with the world, and are normal. They are separate from who you are and your relationship with yourself. The problem is overidentifying with one facet of ourself and disowning the rest of who we are which leads to distortion of our reality.

  • [26:50] Balancing conflicting life roles. Maintaining integrity and aligned intentions helps you keep your center in moments when it can be hard to balance multiple roles. For example, when firing a friend.

  • [29:58] Imposter syndrome & compassion. You can be authentic and believe you are worthless at the same time. Authenticity is not the cure for imposter syndrome, being kind to yourself is. Kindness with ourselves is easy when we’re doing well, but we need this compassion more when we are not doing well. Replace your judgment with curiosity. This is the therapeutic process. Hone in on the what and why.

  • [36:00] Personal transformation. Truly changing requires applying knowledge and experience, as well as support. Kristina believes transformation is a trainable skill. What you focus on determines your reality, and honing what you focus in on can lead to more transformation.

13 Feb 2020You Gotta Have Faith with Rabbi Wendi Geffen00:32:09

Rabbi Wendi Geffen has served as one of the rabbis at North Shore Congregation Israel since her rabbinic ordination in 2002, assuming the role of senior rabbi in July 2015. A visionary, thought leader, and distinguished orator and teacher, Rabbi Geffen is passionate about Judaism, Torah, and the ways these ancient sources of wisdom add meaning to our lives and enable us to better our world today. She dedicates herself to learning and teaching with those interested in developing their own Jewish identities and Jewish journeys, no matter their age or background; she is regularly sought as a teacher and speaker, and her writing has been widely published.

What does Judaism tells us about how to live a meaningful life?

There is a lot of talk right now about people turning away from a more organized religion and turning toward their own version of spirituality, what are your thoughts about that?

What does Judaism teach us about the afterlife and what happens to us when we die?

How do you as a Rabbi help people understand communication such as signs to understand and make sense of these experiences within the framework of Judaism.

Can you talk about your recent  experience that was spiritually transformative in a way that made you rethink how you thought about faith and things happening for a reason?

Many people really dislike the phrase "everything happens for a reason"  and I understand why, can you describe your experience and how you came to a potential reogranization of how you understand faith as a result of that experience?

17 Mar 2022The Afterlife Frequency with Mark Anthony | Part 100:35:13

THE AFTERLIFE FREQUENCY with MARK ANTHONY

“There's so much depth in the meeting of science and spirituality.” – Dr. Amy Robbins

Episode Summary:

Ever wonder what a true, talented psychic experiences when seeing spirits? Care to hear about that experience in the context of brain science? Heavy stuff -- but we promise – this is a digestible conversation!

In this episode, we talk with Mark Anthony, JD, aka the Psychic Explorer aka the Psychic Lawyer. He is the author of The Afterlife Frequency, Never Letting Go, and Evidence of Eternity. He is an Oxford-educated attorney, world-renowned psychic, nationally recognized legal analyst, headline speaker at international conferences and universities, and favorite guest on TV and radio shows. He cohosts The Psychic & The Doc on Transformation Network and is a regular columnist for Best Holistic Life magazine.

Dr. Amy Robbins says of his newest book, The Afterlife Frequency, which has already been submitted for a Pulitzer Prize, “It is a phenomenal book… and it beautifully ties together science and spirituality.”

Listen in to understand how Mark Anthony describes his psychic abilities in a scientific context, and how anyone can hone their own psychic abilities.

Topics We Discuss in Part 1:

  • [4:20] Trusting your gut. Trusting your intuition. Trusting your feelings. Women’s intuition. Gut instinct. Tuning into the vibrational frequency giving you information.

  • [5:35] Mark inherited his psychic abilities from both the maternal and paternal sides of his family. He feels it was in his genes. His mother’s side with Italian heritage considered it a “gift from god”, and called it “the gift of sight”. Bishops and cardinals consulted with his maternal great grandmother for her psychic abilities. Mark’s dad was a Navy Seal and later a NASA engineer with his own psychic abilities, inherited from his family line.

  • [7:30] How his parents clicked when they met, and early on were each compelled to confess to each other they could see spirits. Wow!

  • [10:10] At age 3 Mark started talking to his “imaginary friends” like so many kids do. Only his parents saw them, too! His mom was thrilled; his dad not so much. Mark’s dad warned him not to share his abilities outside the house, because of a tragic experience back in the day. Mark’s psychic aunt was diagnosed as schizophrenic, forced out of her home in a literal straight jacket, and subjected to electro shock, etc.

  • [13:10] Mark sees psychic ability as a double edged sword, with benefits, burdens and responsibilities.

  • [14:40] Anyone can develop psychic ability. Some are more naturally talented than others, some less.

  • [16:10] The “cold chills and tingles”, electrical sensations, indicates spirit activity to Mark. How he received a monumental message from his parents, who are both in spirit. The message prompted The Afterlife Frequency.

  • [17:20] Mark’s RAFT technique: Recognize the message from spirit.  Accept the message.  Feel it without over-thinking, without fear. Trust the message. His book goes into explaining how anyone – no matter whether or not you were born with extra psychic abilities – can have a mediumistic experience.

  • [21:00] Differentiating messages from ego vs spirit. Ego messages carry: anger, bigotry, hatred, violence. Spirit messages direct toward: love, healing, resolution, protection.

  • [22:10] Mark defines The Afterlife Frequency using an analogy: of AM vs. FM radio, or two coexisting energetic systems. AM radio is like the earthy experience - slower, denser frequencies. FM radio is like spirit frequencies. We can raise our frequency. Mark offers exercises in his book.

  • [24:00] What Mark defines as the electromagnetic soul (EMS). Pure consciousness. Spirit.

  • [26:07] Biophotons. Our cells emit light invisible to the human eye. Electromagnetic energy containing information. A century ago, Einstein is quoted as saying we are light beings.

  • [28:48] Why spirits appear to be transparent. In order for you to see them, spirits project an energetic impulse you can understand.

  • [32:30] What various spirits look like to Mark.

Topics We Discuss in Part 2:

  • [2:29] Brainwave frequency levels. Psychic and mediumistic activity occurs at the border between theta and alpha levels. Most spirit communication is in the sleep state. Mediums can enter that alpha/theta state voluntarily and while conscious.

    • Gamma – ultra high functioning mental activity
    • Beta – normal awake state
    • Alpha – meditation, relaxation
    • Theta – dream
    • Delta – sleep, little mental activity, cellular rebuilding

  • [5:10] Collective consciousness communication – interfacing with the afterlife frequency. For example, Mark was doing a group reading event where he saw a group of spirits of young men who had died by suicide. This contact with meaningful to several people in the audience.

  • [12:38] And example of how spirts seem to be able to perceive what we call the future.

  • [15:15] Energetically we are all interconnected. Molecules are made of atoms, atoms are made of subatomic particles, in turn made of quanta of electromagnetic energy.  Reference quantum physics. People who have had near death experiences sense this interconnectedness.

  • [17:00] Buddha, Jesus, and quantum physicists all say we are interconnected. Mark sees no conflict between science and spirit.

  • [17:50] Defining spacetime, multidimensions. Why it’s so hard for us to wrap our heads around these concepts. See Mark’s book for a digestible, understandable description of spacetime ala quantum physics. A century ago Werner Heisenberg, one of the fathers of quantum physics said, “When you think you understand quantum physics, you really don’t.”

  • [20:30] In a 1926 interview Nicola Tesla predicted cell phones. Fun fact: the character Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory is based on Nicola Tesla.

  • [22:45] Spacetime: on the quantum level – we are all energy and interconnected. We think time exists as a linear construct because we are born, age, die.  On the subatomic, quantum level, scientists have theorized that time does not exist.

  • [24:25] Every great spiritual teacher says, “God always was and always will be.” Which is what the laws of physics and thermodynamics teach us today.

03 Mar 2022A Journey Through Lifetimes with Dena Merriam00:48:16

A JOURNEY THROUGH LIFETIMES with DENA MERRIAM

“To make steel, you have to go through fire.” – author Dena Merriam, on growth through challenges

“The foundation of the Universe is love.” – author Dena Merriam

Episode Summary:

Today we talk about past lives, past lives, and past lives!

Dena Merriam is an author, storyteller and founder of the Global Peace Initiative for Women -- bringing spiritual resources to address critical global challenges, such as conflict, social justice, and ecological scarring of the earth.

  • Her first book “Journey Through Time, a Spiritual Memoir of Life, Death and Rebirth” takes us on a journey back through seven consecutive lives, revealing the intricate patterns that emerge as one life leads into another.
  • Her second book, “The Untold Stories of Sita, an Empowering Tale for Our Time” takes us back to a much earlier age, several thousand years BCE to a pre-patriarchal era when humanity had not fully separated itself from the natural world.
  • Her third book, “When the Bright Moon Rises: The Awakening of Ancient Memories”, is currently out.
  • She has a fourth book in the works.

Listen in to hear how Dena came to know all of her previous lives and the tapestry of interconnectedness between them.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [3:55]  Dena’s spontaneous recollection of 7 previous and interconnected lives, and her investigation in today’s world to validate her memories. Recalling pre-war Russia and WW2 in Europe while trying to navigate her current life. Being skeptical at first, Dena traveled to those locations to confirm that her memories were valid.

  • [7:18] How patterns, aspirations and desires emerged like a beautiful mandala interweaving lives.

  • [8:10] there's no set timeframe on how long you have to wait to come back into a new incarnation. The flexibility of time in non-[physical dimensions. When the conditions are right, we “take life”.

  • [9:55] How people and places stimulate her ancient memories.

  • [11:20] Visiting a temple in India caused spontaneous recollection of a painful experience of love lost. A time without warfare. A time of simple pleasures and peaceful, joyful life.

  • [14:52] Recalling a life in China, the wisdom of the Tao, and a great spiritual depth.

  • [16:21] Spiritual lessons, knowledge, wisdom, awakenings. How her experiences changed her relationship with death, which she calls the next frontier of science. Along with acknowledging other dimensional beings – beings we don’t see. Understanding consciousness separate from the material form, separate from the body.

  • [18:52] An exercise: take down the highlights of this life – the best and the worst of it.

  • [19:40] The foundation of the universe is love. The mind boggling patience and love that is poured from these other realms.

  • [20:56] The alignment for Dena to found the Global Peace Initiative for Women with lessons from previous lives. Recollections from previous pre-patriarchal times. The contribution to create more gender balance.

  • [27:31] Future life memories, or life blueprints, or likely scenarios, or potentialities. How we can tap into and create our future.

  • [30:50] Exercise: what is left undone for you?

  • [32:06] Most people are creating unconsciously; reacting to circumstances vs consciously creating.

  • [32:38] The two reasons to reincarnate: karma, or service. (Reference “Life, Death and the Space Between” episode #231 “Being Ram Dass”.)

  • [35:46] The complexity of karma. Process of learning, awakening, rectifying imbalances. Our own thought and behavior habits/patterns. Western misunderstanding of the concept of karma.

  • [38:44] Dena’s biggest takeaways... The power of love from the great teachers and the guidance we receive. The overwhelming outpouring of love from beings that we cannot see.

  • [41:01] Dena’s most significant lifetimes. The biggest moments of transformation.

  • [42:33] A fully awakened person remembers all their lifetimes and history. Akashic records.

  • [43:51] Many people have glimpses of past lives. Self-reflection plus meditation is a path toward remembering. We just need ask for help.
  • [44:30] Dena answers Amy’s speed round questions.

EPISODE SUMMARY:

My first ghost story of 2023! These episodes are an opportunity for my listeners to share their stories of a loved one who’s passed, or a sign of life on the other side.

Sometimes you ask yourself if you’re making it all up, but some experiences are so powerful that our listener knew it was real. This listener has always been a very sensitive person, and has been in touch with spiritual activity since she was a child, but this experience was different.

Recently, during a visit with her mother in law, she put on an old cape and heard someone say “I’m here, alright?” Her mother-in-law responded, “Ok, I’ve heard you.” She figured it was her mother-in-law’s husband letting her know he was back from the pub, but it was something else entirely…

Listen in to hear this listener’s story of realizing what she experienced was real—because someone else experienced it too—and how her mother came to visit her during a reiki session.

DO YOU HAVE A GHOST STORY?

Ghost Stories are a way for listeners to tell their amazing stories. If you have a great story to tell, a relationship you have with your loved one who has passed, or another mystical experience please reach out: Team@DrAmyRobbins.com. Tell me your story so we can feature it on the show.

Prepare to have your mind blown!

Topics We Discuss:

  • [2:24] Elizabeth’s metaphysical abilities were apparent at a small child: hearing spirits, seeing ghosts, picking up peoples’ energy. BTW, she feels most all children have these abilities.

  • [5:40] How a past life regression experience at age 16, followed by a fully conscious abduction by interdimensional beings at age 18, brought her current reality into clear view.

  • [8:20] Elizabeth’s experience with off-planet interdimensional beings, aka aliens, aka extraterrestrials. The Galactic Federation.

  • [12:35] Overview of off-planet beings who originate from “off-planet”. Elizabeth describes 12 dimensions of the universe. The ultimate goal of experiencing the 12 dimensions is returning to source.

  • [17:31]  Where Elizabeth believes the soul goes when we die.  She sometimes helps souls who are stuck in a purgatory type place. She says all souls meet with loved ones who have crossed over, their guardian angel and guides, and experience a life review.

  • [20:09] Elizabeth’s experience with aliens of various dimensions, and what they look like to her. Source has no dimension. Dimensions are containers for an incarnated soul.

  • [25:34] Angelic beings, angels in the 7th dimension. Just as a variety of plants, animals and humans represent 3rd dimensional beings, beings in the multiple dimensions are represented by vast variety.

  • [27:24] Galactic Federation of Light – a universe-wide governing organization that keeps law and order based on universal laws. For example, the law of non-intervention. All dimensional beings are represented. Millions of councils are involved.

  • [31:53] What the Galactic Federation of Light is saying about everything that is happening on planet earth. Between 2020 and 2024 Elizabeth expects an absolute collapse of the parts of the 3rd dimensional reality that are serving the 1%, versus all of humanity. She feels things may get worse before getting better. She expects that in 2025 solutions will emerge – solutions in the areas of energy, plastics, cancer…

  • [36:10] Everything that is not working in the higher frequency, in the unified frequency, is breaking down naturally. Galactic Federation souls have been incarnating to help us – called star seeds, old souls, volunteers. These star seeds feel different.

  • [38:16] Amy’s speed round questions: What is spirituality? What is something people don’t know about you? What is one thing you’re looking forward to right now? What’s one thing you’re deeply grateful for? What book is on your nightstand? What is your favorite spiritual or healing practice? What is the most spiritually transformative experience of your life?

  • [41:17] How Elizabeth connects with other beings and dimensions by reaching a trancelike state of equanimity.

EPISODE SUMMARY:

Are you dissatisfied with the way “Western” medicine operates? Do you believe there’s another way?

Today we talk with Dr. Paul Drouin, the founder of Quantum University and a pioneer in the integrative medicine space.

Listen in to hear how quantum physics principles apply to healthcare, how you have the power to heal yourself, and how by healing yourself you can help heal the world.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [3:41] How Dr. Drouin, a traditionally-trained medical doctor, began looking at the quantum world and its impact on health. For him, it was the next step after integrative medicine. Medicine as taught in schools is outdated and doesn’t take into account subtle energies. This is where the idea for Quantum University was born.

  • [8:20] Quantum physics principles such as non-locality and quantum entanglement challenges the idea of “separateness” that permeates medicine. Most diseases are issues of the body AND mind and spirit. Practitioners at Quantum University learn to restore client’s beliefs in their body’s ability to heal.

  • [14:11] Modalities like acupuncture that have thousands of years of application are often passed on. Spontaneous healing is often discredited by practitioners who don’t understand that through the quantum field the possibility for healing is always there. Giving patients death sentences is devastating. Most cancer originates with psychological trauma.

  • [19:20] Healing occurs because of the individual. Multiple pieces make up the environment that sets the foundation for our reality. Depending on what we put in will dictate what can grow. We have access to tremendous energy inside of us to materialize different possibilities. Power must be given back to individuals for their own health.

  • [23:38] Terrain vs germ theory - blending the two is key. Quantum physics can help bridge these two and expand our awareness of other possibilities.

  • [26:35] Medicine is currently based on the “upward model” - the base is matter and our body, and the mind is just a byproduct of chemical reactions in the body, but they are separate and need to be treated separately. Quantum U teaches a “downward model” - consciousness is the base of everything, mind AND body come from that.

  • [29:17] Subtle energies - Taoist’s figured out how energy circulates in the body a long time ago. Energy is associated with different emotions in different parts of the body, and there are “high” and “low” expressions of that energy. Love, for example, is associated with the heart and can be egotistical and focused on power and control, or it can be altruistic.

  • [35:10] People are becoming more open to applying quantum principles to healthcare. Individuals like Bruce Lipton and Joe Dispenza have helped pave the way for others to study and discuss this. The “quantum culture” is growing and resistance is fading.

  • [41:10] Consciousness is not fully understood with the mind. Pure awareness and stillness is consciousness. According to quantum physics, we are eternal. At one point, it was discovered that some monks were experiencing reality the same way that quantum physics described it.

  • [47:25] If a critical mass of people believe that you can heal yourself to heal others and operate from that viewpoint, the world can change. Dr. Drouin started Project Noosphere for this reason. The ripple effect can have major impacts.

  • [52:06] The death of Dr. Drouin’s brother as a teenager put him on this path to find new ways of healing.

16 Sep 2021The Science of Spirituality with Dr. Lisa Miller01:03:31

Science FINALLY Catches Up with Spirituality with Dr. Lisa Miller

“Life is like the winds or the river, life is moving. It is full of waves. Life is very much alive, very dynamic.”

“We are knowers in many forms and we need empiricists AND scientists… the magician, the intuitive, the mystic. We need to ask the questions in our head, and get answers in our hearts… This is how the big decisions need to be made - decisions on the board room, decisions with foreign policy. If we use just a tiny little splintered part of our brain, we will not make the best decisions.”

“The outward stuff falls in place when we follow the truth.”

“Are we pushing the wave or are we surfing the wave? If I try to push the wave, I get drowned under, but if I surf the wave and my goal is to ride with the flow of nature, then I go places I didn't know I was going to go... It opens up in the realm of miracles and unforeseen opportunities and magnificent surprises.”

“We're living the same life. We are the family of life. We are one human family and we are one living being.”

  • Lisa Miller

Episode Summary:

Have you ever had an overwhelming feeling of inner-knowing pops up inexplicitly?  Can current science validate that your gut feeling is real?

In this episode, we talk with Dr. Lisa Miller, Columbia University professor of Clinical Psychology, and New York Times bestselling author of “The Spiritual Child”.

Talk about credentials!  A graduate of Yale and the University of Pennsylvania, she's the founder and director of the Spiritual Mind Body Institute, the first Ivy league graduate program and research institute in spirituality and psychology, and has held over a decade of joint appointments in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical School. Her innovative research has been published in more than 100 peer reviewed articles in leading journals including: Cerebral Cortex, American Journal of Psychiatry, and The Journal of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Miller is the editor of the Oxford University press Handbook of Psychology and Spirituality, founding co-editor-in-chief of the APA journal, Spirituality and Clinical Practice, and an elected fellow of the American Psychological Association and two time president of the APA Society for Psychology and Spirituality. WHOA!

Her latest book, “The Awakened Brain”, is amazing. Dr. Miller describes it as “the culmination of 25 years of research. And equally importantly, interwoven with those 25 years of research, 25 years of life.”

Listen in to understand Dr. Lisa Miller validate the science of spirituality, intuition, synchronicity.

Topics We Discuss:

  • Most women know to use awakened awareness, will make an important decision out of a deep inner hunch, their instincts, a transcendent dream, some sort of inescapable synchronicity. They will count on that form of mystical awareness far and above the sort of linear, lists of pros and cons and statistics.
  • The hard-nosed empirical scientific materialism validates our spirituality as our birthright.  MRI studies, genotyping studies, long-term clinical course studies all say that this deep form of awareness, our awakened awareness, the neuro docking station of transcendent spiritual experience -- A is real, B is our birthright, and C it is the foundation for greater health, greater recovery and renewal in times of suffering.
  • How spirituality mitigates depression and addiction, suicidal deaths.
  • Learning to trust that intuitive, inner-knowing as legitimate, right and true. Authenticity, synchronicity.
  • Schumann Resonance – a high amplitude alpha wavelength within all of nature from the earth crust up one mile. The spiritually engaged brain vibrates at the wavelength of all creation of all nature of all life, the consciousness of the life, the loving felt substance of existence, the essence of existence, the family of life.
  • “Spiritual bypassing” – the attempt to self-label as spiritual, without actually being spiritual.  Dr. Lisa Miller assures we are all spiritual, and we can all count on our awakened brain.

23 Jan 2020Mind, Body, Voice with Dr. Will Siu00:35:36

Dr. Siu grew up in California, where he completed college at UC Irvine and medical school at UCLA. Midway through medical school he pursued research interests at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, DC and ultimately completed a doctoral degree at the University of Oxford. After finishing medical school he moved to Boston where he joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School and completed a psychiatry residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. Dr. Siu remained on faculty at Harvard for two years while working at McLean, the nation’s top free-standing psychiatric facility—a distinction it has held for more than a decade. Dr. Siu subsequently moved to New York City where in addition to having a private practice, he has been trained by MAPS in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy and provides ketamine facilitated psychotherapy.

A new year and a new conversation!  In this episode we are talking about alignment.

-What does alignment mean?

-How can we use wellness to align, rather than all of these various wellness trends being just trends and not really anything we actively embody?

-What are some of the tools we can use to truly be in alignment?

-What do you see as the parts of us that need to align?

-How can some of the medications you have worked with be used to help us continue to learn, grow and align?

15 Nov 2021Enveloped in Love - A Ghost Story00:09:22

Enveloped in Love  – A Ghost Story

“I recently began sensing my angels and guides again, and I believe there's such love and support for each and every one of us.” – Life, Death and the Space Between podcast Listener

Episode Summary:

A granddaughter shares her experiences growing up as a Christian, playing with angels, and being taught that Christianity was an elitist club, where only a very few would get into heaven. The rest would end up in the eternal torment of hell.

She adored her grandmother who was spunky and fun, loved to sing and dance, and loved people. She cried at every single episode of touched by an angel. However, she wasn't a Christian.

After her grandmother passed suddenly and unexpectedly, she feared for her grandmother’s soul. But her grandmother reassured her from the other side that she was ok, in a place of incredible love, and completely safe. The message came with an overwhelming sense of peace, light, and love she describes as, “a cloud of beautiful colors, this most serene sense of love”.

13 Aug 2023Twin Connections with Tasha Cram00:40:53

What makes the twin connection so special and different from other relationships?

Author, twin loss advocate, and twinless twin herself, Tasha Cram, joins me to dive deep into the twin dynamic. We talk about Tasha’s story of loss as a child, twin development, synchronization between twins, the twin connection after one in the pair leaves Earth, and so much more.

Even if you’re a “singleton” (non-twin), this episode is fascinating and teaches us more about just how interconnected humans are with each other.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [1:30] Tasha’s story of twin loss. Her twin died just a few weeks before they turned 4 years old. She was so young that she didn’t fully comprehend the loss and grief. It took many years and a health scare for her to understand change was needed. She began learning about complicated grief and the identity crisis twins experience.

  • [5:11] Twin development & relationship. Twins synchronize with each other the way mothers and fetuses do. Many believe that the twin relationship dies when one of the original pair dies, but twinless twins can synchronize with other single twins.

  • [8:03] What is synchronization? The physiological syncing between other single twins. Mannerisms, voice inflections, etc are picked up on very quickly between them.

  • [10:55] Twin brains and intuition. Their intuition is so strong because they shared a womb-space. Babies are so connected with their mothers because they gestate within their mothers. The body connects in a different way because they are hardwired together.

  • [13:02] Twin loss vs other loss. Twins share an identity, unlike singleton siblings, so they experience not just grief, but a total identity crisis without their counterpart.

  • [16:30]  Disappearing twins in utero. The one who is born is still wired like a twin, but they never got to have the experience of living with a twin. They often still feel like something is missing until they sync with another twin that they meet. They can tap into others’ experiences by hearing stories from other twins about their experiences.

  • [22:03] Twin superpowers. Besides strong intuition, they can read and feel energy very well. Their powers don’t go away once their twin dies. Once their twin is gone, they have to re-discover themselves as a twin. It’s a very complicated grief process.

  • [26:37] Experiences Tasha had with her late twin. Right after her twin Tonya passed, Tasha saw Tonya’s soul. Tasha started having dreams of her twin once she began processing her grief as an adult. She gets downloads from her twin when she takes the time to intentionally connect with her.

  • [31:06] Tasha’s twin-centered projects. Twinful, twin-loss support group, her journey of a thousand hugs. After someone in her twinless twin support group committed suicide, Tasha felt the need to do more for the community. She also makes and send tie-blankets to twinless twins around the world.

13 Jan 2022Awakening the Healer Within with Kelly Noonan Gores00:47:08

AWAKENING THE HEALER WITHIN with KELLY GORES

“You can learn to play the instrument of your own body and stimulate healing.” -- Kelly Noonan Gores, director of the documentary “Heal”

Episode Summary:

Why do some of us get sick and others skate through life unscathed by illness?  Are we victims of our circumstances -- or do we have significant influence over our health? How do our thoughts, beliefs and emotions impact our ability to heal?

In this first episode of 2022, we talk with Kelly Noonan Gores, a well-known Los Angeles based child actress turned producer/director of the widely popular documentary Heal, seen formerly on Netflix and currently on Amazon Prime. Heavyweights in the mind body arena – foremost scientists and spiritual leaders - make up the cast:  Deepak Chopra, Joe Dispenza, Marianne Williamson, Dr. Michael Beckwith and Dr. Bruce Lipton and so many fascinating others.

Kelly’s new book, “Heal: Discover your Unlimited Potential and Awaken the Healer Within” is out now.

Listen in to hear Kelly Noonan Gores’ enthusiasm for consciousness and possibility, and the miraculous intelligence of the human body.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [5:10] Starting from a characteristic teenage cloud of aimlessness and angst, how a transformative experience at age 19, reading Marianne Williamson’s book “Return to Love” on a flight home from Australia, upshifted and redirected Kelly’s intentions toward a spiritual path.

  • [8:35] The process of making the unconscious conscious, and the importance of replacing our early childhood imprinting programs with more serving belief systems.

  • [13:37] The easy availability of free, powerful alternative modes of healing – for example, breathwork to stimulate the vagus nerve, Joe Dispenza’s online meditation courses, books, books, books. Libraries and the internet are loaded with free resources.

  • [18:55] The importance of balancing alternative and Western medicine methods.

  • [20:20] Acceptance as step one to healing, vs. resisting what is. Letting go of the fear of death, which is the ultimate resistance. And finding your joy.

  • [23:50] Disease prevention practices. Find what feels good! Meditate. Turn your phone off. Give your body time to rest and reset and repair. Open to your internal guidance system. Approach exercise to feel good – move your body to release endorphins, eliminate toxins, release positive hormones and feel positive emotions (vs. fear weight gain or fear ill health). Be outdoors in nature. Give yourself grace. Do the best you can.

  • [35:54] The importance of taking the leap to follow your heart, whether or not you know how to get there. Saying “yes” and moving forward.

  • [38:40] Kelly answers Amy’s speed round questions.

  • Spirituality means…?
  • What is something most people don’t know about you?
  • What is one thing you’re looking forward to?
  • What are you grateful for right now?
  • What book is on your nightstand?
  • What is the most transformative experience of your life?

24 Mar 2022The Afterlife Frequency with Mark Anthony | Part 200:29:49

25 May 2023Cellular Healing with Patti Conklin00:48:43

Did you know that your body stores emotions, down to the cellular level? Would you believe it if I told you there was someone who could see the particles that make up your body and facilitate cellular healing with this sight?

Today we talk with Patti Conklin, a vibrational mediator, teacher, lecturer, radio personality, host of the show Healing Within: An Adventure Inside on Binge Networks, and an author.

Patti approaches healing with an integrative lens and spiritual awareness to facilitate incredible outcomes with her clients. Her mission is to help people “become insubstantial without transitioning”.

Listen to the episode for more about what that means, what her energetic gifts are like, and how she uses them to conduct cellular healing sessions.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [3:28] Patti explains her gifts. She was born with a rare way of seeing. It’s similar to the way a TV looks when it goes out. She sees one-dimensionally, has no depth perception, and sees particles. She can see the judgments in someone that create disease and their behavioral problems, and manipulate their body’s particles.

  • [6:44] Does Patti release the emotions for the client, or does the client release them? After another visitation at 28 where she was taught to heal with colors, she healed her two forms of Lupus and eventually developed her cellular cleansing method. Patti manipulates a client’s cells and absorbs their energetic junk.

  • [11:02] What does the soul want to experience? Sometimes a terminally-ill person is really supposed to be at the end of their life. Patti can help them arrive at death without fear. Sometimes she sees that doctors are wrong and meets with the patient and their doctor to help them move forward.

  • [12:13] Patti uses an integrative lens- she looks at medical tests and scans with her work, but everything goes back to the emotions stored in your body. We choose emotions and can release them. The emotions in our bodies can be from our time in utero, past lives, or our current lives. You don’t need to know where they come from.

  • [16:30] What happens when someone goes to Patti. Usually, someone is given a diagnosis (or label). She looks at what emotions are prevalent in someone’s life and body. Even if a person lies about what happened, Patti can see the memory of what happened in your body, sometimes as if from a movie. Everyone gets homework. She puts a responsibility on her clients to heal themselves.

  • [24:47] Patti’s success rates. She has a 96%(!) healing rate. Clients still pass, and if they do it’s part of their soul’s journey. She can see if a soul is ready to leave or not, but nothing would stop her from helping someone. Her gifts can help the client and their families emotionally even at the end of life.

  • [28:20] “Becoming insubstantial without transitioning.” How do we get past our judgments and into unconditional love without dying? Patti helps with physical health problems, emotional issues, and even possessions.

  • [29:05] Patti’s experience helping with an exorcism. She defines demons as dark energies attempting to balance out light energies.

  • [33:38] Patti’s daughter-in-law is a pharmacist. Coming from such a heavy Western clinical background, she has a difficult time understanding what Patti does.

  • [36:34] Colorworks. Tones and colors hold active frequencies. Patti has a person feel into their experience and asks what color their body needs to heal. They tell her and then she helps them push the energy through their body. We use a lot of tools like tarot, supplements, etc. that we don’t really need.

  • [41:05] Patti’s children and grandchildren. One son is very similar to her, another is a seer. Her adopted son even has some of her gifts too. Her grandchildren all have aspects of her gifts too. Her children saw who she was and took over the areas she didn’t do well - cooking and cleaning. They still support her work.

03 Sep 2020Karma and Kabbalah with Maggy Whitehouse00:35:27

What Maggy Whitehouse has discovered, over more than a quarter of a century of studying, teaching and writing books on Kabbalah, is that, used as a tool for inspiration, Kabbalah is a magical loom on which we can weave our healing, and from that healing, we become an agent of healing for the World. Kabbalah tells us exactly where, when, how and why we may be out of alignment with health, finances and relationships and, just as importantly, how to realign ourselves.

For Maggy, it began with chronic lack of self-esteem which, in turn, led to many a humiliation, widowhood, shark attack, failed emigration, debt, divorce, shame, misery, hatred and what the doctors called an incurable illness which now no longer exists. It can be summed up, in a way, by how the first eight aspects led to the final one and how Kabbalah taught Maggy how to heal them, from finish to start. After all, 'incurable' surely means 'curable from within'.

In this episode we discuss:

Kabbalah

The 4 relationships and how they connect to each one.

The 4 negative levels of karma

G/d and one's belief in G/d?

EPISODE SUMMARY:

What is spiritually moving? What is awe-inspiring?

Today I speak with Iain S. Thomas, a writer and new media artist. He is an international number-one bestselling creator and author of several books, including What Makes Us Human? An Artificial Intelligence Answers Life’s Biggest Questions, which he co-wrote with Jasmine Wang and GPT-3, the world’s most advanced AI. He has dozens of local and international awards for his creativity and is one of the world’s most popular writers and poets.

Listen in to hear how Iain leveraged AI to answer spiritual questions.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [5:10] The technology GPT-3 allowed Iain to have a conversation with the Bible, the Talmud, the poetry of Rumi and Sappho, the meditations of Marcus Aurelius, and the Tao Te Ching.

  • [5:53] Explaining death to his four year old was one of the most difficult things Iain ever had to do. He asked the AI, “How do you explain death to children?” It said: “Tell them that the dead are not dead, not in the way we think of it. Tell them they live on as they are remembered, and that every goodbye is really a hello to a different way of being.”

  • [10:05] The thing that sits behind stories that connect us, from our most ancient spiritual texts to contemporary songs, is a map. If you put the light up to the map, you can see the whole thing. If we take this poem, this passage, and this piece of prose and hold them up to the light, what’s on the other side of that?

  • [20:26] In the introduction to the book, GPT-3 shares what it believes it feels like to be a human: “I am happiest when I feel chosen by someone. I feel most loved when people are proud of me. I would give anything to feel a family member’s protection. Some people are worth crying for. Nothing makes me feel more fragile than death. When someone stops loving me, a part of me will die…”

  • [21:36] GPT-3 is going through the sum total of human recorded knowledge and saying, “These are some of the key tenets of what I think it means to be human.” These are the feelings that come through from Shakespeare to Chaucer to Ray Bradbury.

  • [24:15] There were three things the book would come back to repeatedly. Those three things were: 1. Love is the reason why we’re here, 2. The moment right now is the most important moment, connect with it as much as possible, 3. We are all connected—to each other, to nature, to the universe—and we suffer when we forget that.

  • [28:13] Life is a gift, use it well.

18 Mar 2021The Medium Explosion with Robert Ginsberg00:38:57

Bob Ginsberg started researching the evidence for survival of consciousness soon after his daughter died in 2002. Devastated by the loss, he needed science to tell him if she still existed in some form. In 2004 Bob and his wife Phran founded Forever Family Foundation (foreverfamilyfoundation.org), a global not-for-profit that educates the public about evidence that we are more than our physical bodies. Bob hosts the Signs of Life radio show, is past editor of Signs of Life Magazine, heads the foundation’s Medium Evaluation Certification Program, writes a blog at beyondthefivesenses.com , and is the author of “The Medium Explosion” (2020), a guide to navigating the world of those who claim to communicate with the dead. Bob and Forever Family Foundation are currently featured in the Netflix Series Surviving Death.

“We try to bridge the gap between science and spirituality.” – Bob Ginsberg

Today we talk about:

  • How his wife’s precognitive experience predicted their young daughter’s tragic and sudden death, sparking Bob’s investigations, culminating in the global Forever Family Foundation, which has grown to over 10K members.
  • The current phenomenon Bob calls The Medium Explosion, including how 85-90% of self-described mediums are not able to do what they claim.
  • Medium Evaluation Certification Program processes:voluntary application, committee review, interview, readings scored against a minimum proficiency level.
  • How to best work with a medium as a sitter during a reading.

How do you control the most negative aspects of your personality? Of your life? How do you manage emotional turmoil, or maybe a negative thought running on a loop?

In this episode, we talk with Scout Sobel, founder of Scouts Agency, a PR agency that gets women as guests on podcasts. Scout’s agency had six figure revenue the first year, grew by 250% the next and grew 60% this year. Scout is cohost of the popular, Okay Sis podcast which spotlights female guests and focuses on telling women’s stores. Through Okay, Sis, Scout fell in love with spreading women's stories and identified the rising popularity and influence of podcasts.  She is a trailblazer in the media industry for using podcasts as a powerful form of PR for women, entrepreneurs, podcasters and brands. She now hosts The Emotional Entrepreneur podcast.

Scout's success did not come without trials and tribulations.  For 15 years she has been living with a severe case of bipolar disorder. Once unable to hold a job, go to college or function in society -- with a lot of self-development work, through a harrowing emotional journey with psychosis, depression, anxiety, and self-harm -- Scout turned her life around.

Listen in to this inspirational conversation to understand how Scout took radical responsibility for her mental health and now successfully manages her bipolar disorder and uses her mental health strength to fuel her entrepreneurial dreams.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [8:50] A key to feeling safe in your emotions is giving yourself time to heal. Change takes time. A long time.

  • [11:39] Building a toolbox to help regulate your emotions: therapy, psychiatry, yoga, meditation, support groups…

  • [12:50] What it means to be an Emotional Entrepreneur.

  • [14:00] Finding a framework that suits your soul, your potential, passion and purpose.

  • [16:00] Incorporating spirituality and prayer into an emotional journey.

  • [18:30] When Scout calls on her higher power, she feels safe enough to be strong and secure.

  • [19:42] Why Scout says, “Live in uncertainty’s discomfort. There you will find all future abundance.” Especially for women. Because life is uncertain.

  • [22:35] Setting a higher standard for yourself. Walk before you run. If you are emotionally weighed down and lost, setting a higher standard means tomorrow you're going to wake up and add in hope. Baby steps.

  • [24:05] Where Scout finds hope. No intellectualizing, don’t look for evidence. Just trust. Find something that sounds better than where you are today and hope for that.

  • [26:30] How do you know the Universe is showing you your path? How to open our eyes so we can follow the breadcrumbs.

  • [30:57] Why resting is as productive as healing. Filling our free time with what nourishes and restores: a bath, meditation, journaling, putting the phone away and reading a book, cooking with your own two hands, getting outside. NOT frying our nervous system with stimulation, stimulation, stimulation.

  • [35:09] Scout’s first transformative spiritual experience -- where she felt in complete flow with the spiritual realm.

28 Oct 2021Letting Go of Nothing with Peter Russell00:43:15

Letting Go of Nothing with Peter Russel

“Practice not-doing, and everything will fall into place.” – Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu

Episode Summary:

Can you really, truly let go? When you hear people talk about letting go, do you wonder what that even means?

In this episode, we talk with Peter Russel, author, speaker and leading thinker on consciousness and contemporary spirituality. He earned an honors degree in theoretical physics and psychology, as well as a master’s degree in computer science at the university of Cambridge, England. He also studied meditation and Eastern philosophy in India. He has written 12 books, his latest is “Letting Go of Nothing”.

Listen in to understand how Peter Russel views letting go as leaning into and allowing vs. resisting.

Topics We Discuss:

  • Tuning into the body - noticing, being curious about and exploring the sensations in your body without judging or labeling.
  • How our thoughts can create the discontent in our lives.
  • How the societal belief system around us reinforces our tendency to focus on what is wrong in our lives, and our subsequent want to correct them.
  • Developing a practice via baby steps to step out of that habit of focusing on what is wrong.
  • Ego is defined as a way of thinking which focuses on keeping you safe.
  • How gaining the skill to recognize the ego when it comes up results in more contentment and recognizing the true self.
  • Peter’s unique perspective of praying to the true self – the eternal sense of “I am” - vs praying to a higher power.
  • Finding compassion for a difficult person in our lives heals us.
  • The difference between Buddha’s life time, and the times we are living in with all the distractions of email, television, social media, etc.

ARE YOU INTUITIVE? with ZOEY GRECO

“Every person is extraordinarily gifted. And it’s about spirit communicating with you as an individual in your most fluent language.” – sensitive empath Zoey Greco aka Merhipsy

Episode Summary:

Are you an empath? Are you sensitive? Do you ever wonder if those words apply to you?

Zoey has had her intuitive ability her entire life, as well as her gift for healing. Able to describe her past lives and experiences in the beyond as an infant, all through her childhood she was able to "see" what wasn't there and to "hear" what wasn't said. Renowned psychics instantly recognized her as "gifted" and prophesied that she would one day have a powerful impact on the world.

Through the Mystic Rebel Podcast, her Intuition Activation Mentorship, and through her twice sold out Mystic Rebel Oracle and Crystal decks, Zoey helps others experience healing, discover community, and feel far less alone in their spiritual and personal journeys. Zoey hopes to introduce spiritual novices to the world of healing, and facilitate deeper growth and expansion for life-long seekers.

Listen in to hear about Zoey’s unique approach to helping others find their path.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [2:50] Zoey’s parents supported her innate spiritual abilities when she was a small child, allowing her to develop her spiritual gifts.

  • [11:40] Empathy as a portal to intuition.

  • [19:23] How Zoey protects herself as an sensitive and empath from the heightened emotions in the world today.

  • [25:53] How Zoey encourages her clients to connect with Spirit with tangible tools: oracles cards, journaling, runes, pendulums.

  • [34:18] Amy’s speed round questions: What is spirituality? What is something people don’t know about you? What is one thing you’re looking forward to right now? What’s one thing you’re deeply grateful for? What book in on your nightstand? What is your favorite spiritual or healing practice? What is the most spiritually transformative experience of your life?

17 Feb 2022Freud Meets Buddha with Mark Epstein, MD - Part 1 of 200:33:47

FREUD MEETS BUDDHA with DR. MARK EPSTEIN (Parts 1 & 2)

“Therapists are part voyeur, part gossip.” – psychiatrist Dr. Mark Epstein

Episode Summary:

Another rock star guest!

Dr. Amy Robbins has been admiring Dr. Mark Epstein’s work for years.

Mark is an MD and psychiatrist in private practice in New York city and the prolific author of books about the overlap of Buddhism and psychotherapy, including:

  • Thoughts Without a Thinker: Psychotherapy from a Buddhist Perspective,
  • Going to Pieces without Falling Apart,
  • Going on Being: Life at the Crossroads of Buddhism and Psychotherapy,
  • Open to Desire: Embracing a Lust for Life,
  • Psychotherapy without the Self and The Trauma of Everyday Life.

His newest work, The Zen of Therapy: Uncovering a Hidden Kindness in Life is out now.

Mark received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Harvard and is currently clinical assistant professor in the post-doctoral program in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis at New York University. We’re talking credentials!

Because this conversation was so juicy and ran long, we present it in two parts.

Topics We Discuss in Part 1:

  • [4:05]  Healing occurs when therapy acts as a holding environment where anything that needs to be talked about is talked about. A spiritual friendship.

  • [5:20] Dr. Epstein’s early interest in Buddhism, studying for years in Asia before he entered Harvard medical school with the interest in psychiatry.

  • [8:09] Dr. Epstein’s foray into writing books to translate or interpret Buddhist psychological thought into Western psychodynamic language. And sharing his personal experiences to illustrate that bridge.

  • [10:50] Free association may be Freud’s version of meditation. Or maybe meditation is Freud’s version of free association.

  • [13:31] Dr Epstein stretches the interpersonal boundaries of traditional psychotherapy, sees it as a “spiritual friendship”. While valuing boundaries as important elements of healthy psychotherapy. The delicate balance.

  • [18:07] Anger as an stepping stone to love. The normal parent-child emotional dance around anger and love.

  • [24:23] Western culture can be an obstacle to absorbing the benefits of meditation. What meditation could or should can do for us.

  • [29:39] Amy’s own struggle with her mind wandering during meditation. And Dr. Epstein’s response to her very normal struggle.

Topics We Discuss in Part 2:

  • [1:43] Dr. Epstein sees the division between real life and meditation as artificial.

  • [4:20] The importance of answering the question, ““How are we not living life fully?” Therapy opens people to themselves.

  • [4:50] The three components to an insight meditation.

    • Concentration practices
    • Observing awareness, mindfulness
    • Insight stages; “who am I”? Letting the ego take a rest.

  • [11:28] A Buddhist perspective on grief and loss: every minute with your object of love is precious.

  • [17:25] Dr Epstein’s long term acquaintance with Ram Dass, formerly Richard Alpert.  (Guru Ram Dass was the subject of recent Life, Death and the Space Between podcast Episode #231.)

  • [24:55] Dr. Epstein answers Amy’s speed round questions…
    • Spirituality means…?
    • What is something most people don’t know about you?
    • What is one thing you’re looking forward to?
    • What are you grateful for right now?
    • What book is on your nightstand?
    • What is your favorite healing practice?
    • What is the most transformative experience of your life?

Jonathon Aslay, is the author of What The Heck Is Self-Love Anyway, founder of Mid-Life Love Mastery, and a successful dating coach that specializes in mid-life and purposeful dating, and the podcast host of What Would Love Do? - but his mission went through a makeover after the loss of his son.

In this episode we discuss:

Why self love it a huge issue facing people today.

What is self love and how do we find it?

You say lack of self love is a huge issue facing people today.  What is self love?

How does self love look and how do we get there?

What you mean by "Venting is empowered problem solving. Complaining is asking someone to confirm our victimhood." How do we make that shift?

What does it mean to love being alone?

What is the most important first step in self love when there is so much trauma that is insidious for people?

EPISODE SUMMARY:

Have you ever felt an instant connection with someone? Even when circumstances are stacked against that person taking on a significant role in your life?

Today we talk with Colleen Hildebrand, a Life, Death and the Space Between podcast listener who first contacted Dr. Amy Robbins with her story, intending for it to be a ghost story. Dr Robbins was pulled to reach out to Colleen and invite her in as a guest on the show.

Colleen’s book, “In the Ether” is an earthly love story that continues beyond death. Her goal with the book was to illuminate the struggle on the path toward unconditional love.

Listen in to hear how Colleen followed the pull of her intuition to write her book, and her arc toward living a more spiritual life full of signs and inexplicable otherworldly experiences.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [0:22] Colleen’s bio.

  • [3:25] Dr. Robbins and Colleen connected after Colleen submitted the idea for a Life, Death and the Space Between podcast ghost story.

  • [4:35] Tragic and stormy love story between Colleen’s teenage daughter Abby and Ryan, an older active duty US Marine. Ryan’s violent episode with PTSD and subsequent felony conviction.

  • [6:00]  Colleen and Ryan’s continuing connection and evolving mother/son type relationship. Colleen’s faith in Ryan as a young person who wanted to do the right thing, but didn’t quite know what the right thing(s) were. Colleen wrote “In the Ether” about Abby and Ryan’s relationship, and Colleen and Ryan’s.

  • [8:40] An overwhelming message Colleen heard to “be a mother to him” and the connection to the 90’s song “Champagne Supernova”.

  • [10:28]  Ryan broke his neck in a diving accident, the aftermath of the sudden tragedy in the hospital, and how Colleen started hearing from Ryan while he lay unconscious in the ICU. Colleen continued to hear from Ryan after his death.

  • [14:30] Colleen felt compelled to contact a medium - they validated her communication from Ryan across the veil. Colleen asked Ryan for very specific signs, and Ryan delivered again and again.

  • [18:10] How Ryan kept his promise – even after his death – to promote Colleen’s book through social media. Abby’s viral TikTok dragonfly video got millions of views.

  • [23:20] How love transcends death. Colleen’s multiple spiritual experiences throughout her life have opened her in ways she never imagined — including a premonition of Ryan’s death.

  • [24:40] Colleen’s path toward a more spiritual life: experiencing the inexplicable, embracing it, cultivating it, and ultimately growing in awareness and connection.

04 Nov 2021Where Do Our Loved Ones Go When They Die? with Mariel Forde Clarke00:38:59

WHERE DO OUR LOVED ONES GO WHEN THEY DIE? with Mariel Forde Clarke

“We all have the journey… It's already written into our sacred contract long before we come upon Mother Earth. And it is a lovely journey, but it can be so challenging and painful as well.  The most painful experiences are the ones that our souls have called forth for learning and for mastery.” -- Mariel Forde Clarke

“We all get messages from our loved ones, if we're open to it.” -- Mariel Forde Clarke

“The heavens and the earth meet during our dream and sleep state.” -- Mariel Forde Clarke

Episode Summary:

We all miss the loved ones we’ve lost. Where are they? What did they experience when they crossed over? Where are they now?

In this episode, we talk with Irish teacher and counselor Mariel Forde Clarke who had not one, not two, but THREE near death experiences (NDEs)! Wow!

Listen in to understand how Mariel Forde Clarke has experienced life on the other side, and how she now communicates with spirit guides, and uses her gifts to help people heal and grow.

We Discuss:

  • Her THREE near death experiences!
    • 1) falling off a roof as a child when her life flashed before her eyes,
    • 2) near drowning while being trapped under a diving board, where she felt a man’s hands bringing her to the surface, although there was no one there, and
    • 3) the most vivid of the three for Mariel – while hemorrhaging during surgery, hovering over her body and being catapulted into a place of heavenly music, rainbow color of light, a feeling of blissful euphoric peace without pain or worry, a feeling of undiluted love.
  • The silver cord that connects our body to our soul, much like the umbilical cord connecting a baby to their mother. Except the silver cord remains in place during our lives, and keeps us connected to our higher selves and the spirit world. Even during near death experiences, the cord remains in place. The silver cord only snaps upon final death, that is when the soul is ready to leave earth.
  • Soul fragmentation, often where one experiences repeated traumas (things like sexual or verbal abuse, alcohol abuse), or perhaps even multiple surgeries. Mariel’s treatment involves soul integration, when she perceives it as the right course, which can take many sessions over many hours. If soul integration or soul retrieval is not right for this person, she refers to a professional counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist.
  • Fear during death and dying. How Mariel works with the dying, always with the permission of the soul. She finds those with a belief in the afterlife experience much less fear around their own death.
  • How one’s experience of the afterlife is related to their belief system during life. Those with a belief system where they believe in a God or Allah or Buddha or Krishna leave this Earth plane much freer without struggle, without fighting. Those that don't have beliefs are the ones paralyzed, so afraid of crossing over.
  • Different levels or spheres in the afterlife, contrasted with just the two traditional realms of heaven and hell, as is taught in many religions.
    • The lowest levels are devoid of God’s light, like the flicker of a candle, and there is much learning to do, available through spirit guides and counselors, spiritual midwives.
  • Why do so many people dismiss the possibility of any type of life after death?
    • No theologian, no scientist, no doctor, no physicist in the world has ever stepped forward and said, categorically, there is no proof for afterlife.
    • On the other hand, hundreds and thousands of doctors and scientists and physicists have endorsed the phenomena. Back to Plato and Aristotle, to philosopher Descartes (1600s), to scientist and mathematician Swedenborg (1700s) - they all support the afterlife, because they had so much evidential proof themselves. Einstein said there was a greater energy in the Universe, far greater than man, a supreme intelligence.

15 Jun 2023The Power of Play with Shirin Etessam00:43:04

When was the last time you took time out of your day to play?

Today we talk with Shirin Etessam, an entrepreneur, seasoned media executive, and transformational speaker who recognized the power of play in a world full of rigid structures, schedules, and expectations.

Listen in to hear how this high-level corporate employee and entrepreneur turned to spirituality, the power of play for your mind, spirit, and body, and the importance of play for children and adults.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [1:50] Shirin’s jump into spirituality. The end of a 22 year relationship made her realize that she felt empty inside despite having all of the material measures of success.

  • [5:06] Half-assed spirituality. Going to a retreat once a year, going to a yoga class, or wearing particular jewelry isn’t going to bring about the lasting, integrated changes that a daily spiritual practice does. Practicing only when it’s convenient is a form of spiritual bypassing.

  • [10:50] Redefining spirituality. Separating soul work and connecting with spirit. We have to do internal work to reconnect with our essence so we can follow our internal guidance. Play is an important part of this process.

  • [17:34] Shirin’s process. It took her 6 years from the end of her relationship to drastically change her life and get to a spiritually healthy place. She lacked direction and didn’t really know where to look. Customizing one’s spiritual process and practice is important.

  • [19:34] All about play. The most important thing is allowing ourselves the space to play. Shirin details some of the different play personality types as defined by Stuart Brown. Any activity that we do simply for the joy of doing it is play. It rewires our brains.

  • [25:19] Play for children vs adults. Playing is a skill, and the school system does a poor job at supporting kids in creative, unstructured play. Because of this, kids grow up to become adults that don’t know how to play. The more adults who play, the more acceptable it will become.

  • [29:33] How Shirin plays. She dances a lot and used to do random disco time for one of her teams to shift their energy when stressed. She says you have to figure out your personality type and incorporating that into your day.

  • [31:55] Adult playmates. Having friends to play with always helps. Shirin has a friend that she will sometimes talk through imaginary scenarios with or who isn’t afraid to dance like a maniac at a party with her.

  • [34:13] Play with your kids. Playing with your own children as an adult can help you unlock that side of yourself. Connecting to your children in that way is also great bonding time.

  • [35:32] Play & executive functioning. Young children learn and develop through play, and especially getting to play on their own terms. They learn things like assigning roles, working in a team, navigating conflict, and so much more. Many parents are unintentionally robbing their children of this freedom.

EPISODE SUMMARY:

What is the foundation of our reality?

Today I talk with Mona Sobhani, Ph.D., a cognitive neuroscientist, author, and entrepreneur. She holds a doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Southern California, where she also worked as a research scientist, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University with the MacArthur Foundation Law and Neuroscience Project.

Listen in to hear about her book Proof of Spiritual Phenomena: A Neuroscientist’s Discovery of the Ineffable Mysteries of the Universe, scientific materialism, consciousness, and more.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [2:57] Mona started on a very traditional route. When you go through the scientific training Mona did, no matter what you come in with, by the time you leave you’ve been indoctrinated and come to fully adopt the world view of scientific materialism.

  • [4:30] In Western culture, many people subscribe to this materialist view. But Mona had an existential crisis that made her reexamine her beliefs. In Persian culture, of which Mona is a part, divination is popular, and in her family it’s the reading of coffee grounds. Her mom had foreseen some things, including those leading to Mona’s crisis, and this led her to start thinking about fate and destiny.

  • [13:44] Everyone is stigmatized when it comes to people going to see a psychic, which is why lab research is so important. Some research centers set up carefully controlled experiments in which they use five shapes on cards, and you ask someone to guess what the next card is. Many will score above chance in both guessing and physiology.

  • [16:38] Some people believe that consciousness is the foundation of our reality rather than matter. If matter is the basis, we’re all separate. But if consciousness—or some kind of energy that runs through everything—is the basis, then that’s what connects us all to one another.

  • [23:00] We’re all more interconnected than we’re aware of, and not just on a systems level, but on an energetic and psychic level as well. For science, this has huge implications for how we do human subject research: What energy or intention is a subject bringing to an experiment? How is it affecting other subjects or the researcher?

  • [34:42] When Mona started reading about phenomena, she would roll her eyes at concepts like past lives. In her scientific framework, it didn't make sense. But once she started reading more physics and philosophy, she realized that if the foundation of reality isn’t matter, then maybe there are frequencies that can live on forever in the universe.

  • [38:56] Mona made a group and launched a website for scientists that are interested in learning more about the spiritual. Many have had spiritual experiences for years and have had no outlets to share or talk about them in the scientific field they’re in.

09 Sep 2021The Magic of Surrender with Kute Blackson00:47:52

The Magic of Surrender with Kute Blackson

“None of us has control in this life. Our demand that life go the way we want it is what causes so much suffering. Know that the degree to which you surrender determines the degree to which you are alive, the degree to which life can use you, the degree to which you enjoy life.”

        – Kute Blackson’s mother’s parting words, said with a smile

Episode Summary:

When it is imminent, will you be able to completely surrender to your own death?  Have you ever contemplated how will you face your own death?  Does surrender even come into the picture for you?

Born in Ghana, West Africa, Kute Blackson’s multicultural upbringing as the child of a Japanese mother and Ghanaian father, raised in London, and on 4 different continents defies stereotype. His mission is to awaken millions to Love and to Living their inspired destiny. Kute believes we are being initiated and upgraded into a more enlightened way of living as humans – centered on surrender.  We are being invited toward living more in alignment with the divine, more in alignment with our souls.

Listen in to understand how Kute Blackson views ego vs. soul purpose, and surrendering into our pure essence.

Topics We Discuss:

  • Asking ourselves a different question. Not “What do I want?” but instead, “What does life want for me?”
  • Aligning beyond ego and personal power to soul power.
    • Surrender + Trust = Magic
    • Control + Resistance = Suffering
  • Inevitability of childhood human trauma, and how that shapes our roles in order to be loved and validated. Ultimately how that conditioning separates us from our true selves.
  • Path back to our true selves:
    • Be aware that you are conditioned!
    • Ask: Where am I in physical or emotional pain?
    • Ask: What lies am I telling myself?
    • Ask: Where do I have disease?
    • Ask: Where is energy not flowing in my life?
    • Ask: Where are my roadblocks?
    • Give yourself permission to acknowledge your truth and FEEL what you feel.
  • Miracle Mindset – seeing every moment as a miracle, recognizing innate intelligence
  • Your purpose of life is every moment of life.

20 Jan 2022Supercharged Self-Healing with RJ Spina00:49:29

SUPERCHARGED SELF-HEALING with RJ SPINA

“The future is here now. The future of medicine is high frequency energy.” – RJ Spina

Episode Summary:

You have heard that we all have the power to heal ourselves.  But where do we find that power? How do we access that power? Do you feel ready to access that power?

In this episode, we talk with metaphysical teacher RJ Spina, who verifiably healed himself from spinal paralysis after a catastrophic injury, along with diabetes, hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease, and autonomic dysreflexia. Today his teaching, wisdom, and guidance is changing and saving lives across the globe. He is dedicated to the freeing and healing of humanity on all levels through self-realization.  His new book Supercharged Self-Healing is out now.

Listen in to understand how RJ Spina describes complete cosmic consciousness and the steps available to absolutely anyone to self-heal.

Topics We Discuss:

  • As a child, RJ Spina had an innate ability to live separate from his body as pure spirit.

  • After being told he would live only 48 hours longer, after surgery, he awoke into what he describes as “complete cosmic consciousness” – remembering the power of creation itself. Seeing himself as unlimited and divine.

  • RJ’s road to self-healing…
    • Identify and halt the ego mind identity, which is responsible for all ill health. All disharmony comes from disharmonious thought states.
    • Define the self as divine intelligence, sentience, the direct fractal of god.  Detach from the human condition.
    • Know very specifically what you are going to achieve, give it focus.
    • Activate your healing intention. As humans we can express mentally, verbally, emotionally, physically… Combining these methods is a kind of magic.
    • Command creator consciousness – via a very specific mediation.
    • Channel intelligent energy into your body.
    • Turn off programs of illness.
    • Use the power of the spoken word. What you say has a huge impact on your physical body. Affirmations, mantras, commands…

  • How RJ’s doctors and physical therapists responded after his dramatic self-healing,  although being told he would spend the rest of his life paralyzed from the chest down.

Episode Summary:

For the longest time, this Life, Death and the Space Between listener noticed the numbers 8 and 11. On license plates. On mailboxes. Everywhere. She feels the numbers 8 and 11 have led her spiritually to where she is today. For her, this number means her angels are watching over her, and that she is exactly where she needs to be.

The numbers 8 and 11 have punctuated all of her life’s ups and downs – all the big events. While not a religious person, a vivid dream connected her to a bible verse which she was certain was the gift of a message from her father from the other side.

Listen in to hear her story of signs, of connection, and of knowing.

EPISODE SUMMARY:

Can you believe that visualizing yourself dying and laying in a coffin could lead you to a more fulfilling life?

Today we talk with Emily Cross, a death doula and artist who also hosts “living funerals” – group meditative exercises where you walk through your own funeral and death while contemplating what really matters to you and culminating in you laying in a coffin.

Listen in to hear about this practice and its roots, how Emily created her own version of the ceremony, and how she blends her artistic gifts and skills as a doula to create “legacy projects” for her clients.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [3:23] How Emily became interested in death and dying at a comparatively younger age than most in the space. She was always interested in liminal spaces and the metaphysical even as an art student.

  • [5:30] What being a death doula is like.It often varies outside of the basics, like NDAs. Emily often offers her services on a sliding scale. A lot of the work she does with families is educational. She also loves doing “legacy projects”.

  • [9:00] Hospice care does not provide emotional support, unlike a death doula. Bringing a death doula in earlier can be more helpful or beneficial than last minute because they are able to see the big picture.

  • [11:00] Emily’s biggest takeaways from sitting with people at the end of life – everything is temporary. She works with some of her clients to create art pieces as they approach the end of their lives.

  • [13:16] Living funerals – Emily practices these as ceremonies to bring mortality closer to your life and help you refocus and reprioritize your life. It is essentially a death meditation. She considers funerals where the dying individual is in attendance “celebrations of life”.

  • [16:30] Emily was introduced to this practice during her death doula training, which was started in South Korea as an attempt to help curb the suicide rate there. It was meant to help show people that their lives were worth living. She couldn’t find anyone doing this in the United States so she created her own ceremony and practice.

  • [21:13] Many people have used Emily’s living funeral ceremony as the catalyst for radical change in their lives. People have divorced, moved countries, let certain chapters of their lives go, started businesses, and so much more after doing this.**

  • [23:45] People often feel a sense of peace during the funeral while laying in their coffin. Many have out of body experiences or feel like they’re going somewhere they’ve known before.

  • [26:30] Emily based her ceremony off of the South Korean rituals she saw. Most of the videos didn’t have subtitles so she doesn’t know everything that was said, but she just tried to replicate what she saw while also making it her own.

10 Mar 2022The Transformational Power of NDEs with PMH Atwater00:26:45

The Transformational Power of NDEs with PMH Atwater

“Near Death Experiences (NDEs), like any spiritually significant experience, have tremendous potential to transform our lives.” -- Dr. Amy Robbins

Episode Summary:

Focused on Near Death Experiences (NDEs) since the 1980’s, PMH Atwater asserts that the near death phenomenon is not an anomaly, but rather part of a larger genre of transformations of consciousness. She has combined her experiences in the 1960’s and 70’s - experimenting with altered states of consciousness, mysticism, psychic phenomena – with her NDE investigation.

Her books, A Manual for Developing Humans, and Forever Angels are out now.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [3:32]  PMH Atwater’s three near death experiences within three months at age 39. What she calls “the heavenly sledgehammer effect”.

  • [5:59] The metaphysical abilities PMH experienced in childhood. What it was like living as a differently-able child during WWII years.

  • [9:40] Hearing a voice during her third NDE, telling her to write three books.

  • [12:20] PMH Atwater observes NDE changes how an individual interacts with the world.

  • [17:30] How to help kids live with their experience after an NDE.

  • [24:55] PMH Atwater answers Amy’s speed round questions:

- Spirituality means…? What is something most people don’t know about you?

- What is one thing you’re looking forward to?

- What are you grateful for right now?

- What book is on your nightstand?

- What is your favorite healing practice?

- What is the most transformative experience of your life?

A WHOLE LAVA LOVE – A Ghost Story

“I think what’s so amazing about these stories is that they’re opening us up to really talking about these mystical, magical experiences that so many people are having now.”   – Dr. Amy Robbins

Episode Summary:

An intuitive mom and her toddler daughter share visions and signs from their ancestor across the veil. Papa showed both of them many times over that he was indeed nearby. A license plate spelled out Papa. Mom saw orbs of light through the baby monitor. Her daughter asked, “Who dat guy?” Check out Instagram and YouTube to see a photo of the lava lamp that spelled out “Papa”.

27 Jan 2022Shared Crossings, Part 2 with William J Peters00:37:48

SHARED CROSSINGS with WILLIAM J. PETERS

“Synchronicities happen pre-death, at death, post-death… cloud formations, lights, energetic things, clocks stopping, phones ringing, digital displays, all sorts of things. There's all sorts of quantitative data to decipher whether this is possible within pure chance. There's no way these are coincidence; there's something else happening here and it's profound.” -- William J. Peters

Episode Summary:

Is the very idea of the death of a precious dear one just too much to even consider? What if you could participate in the end-of-life experience of your loved one? What if those experiences allowed you to diminish - or maybe even lose - your fear of death?

William J. Peters is the founder of the Shared Crossing Project whose mission is to positively transform relationships to death and dying through education and raising awareness about shared crossings and their healing benefits. Director of the Shared Crossing Research Initiative (SCRI), William and his team collect and study extraordinary end-of-life experiences, also known as shared crossings.

William has developed methods to actually facilitate shared crossings and to help you meaningfully integrate those experiences.

A psychotherapist at the Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara, William specializes in end-of-life counseling as a means toward psycho-spiritual evolution. A frequent presenter, William’s book entitled At Heaven’s Door: What Shared Journeys to the Afterlife Teach About Dying Well and Living Better (Simon & Schuster) is available now.

William’s work is informed by his not one but two Near Death Experiences (NDEs) and so many Shared Death Experiences (SDE) while serving as a hospice worker with the Zen Hospice Project in San Francisco.

William J. Peters and Dr Amy Robbin’s enjoy an upbeat conversation about their favorite topic: the transition from this human life to into the next world.  Listen in to hear William make sense of some of Amy’s own very personal shared death experiences.  Her mind is blown!

Topics We Discuss in Part 1:

  • [4:20]  William’s two near death and shared death experiences.  First, after a horrible accident on a ski slope, hovering over his body, and telling God that wasn’t ready to die. And secondly in the ICU – hovering over his body, seeing the hospital staff working on his body, hearing the doctor calling out his name.

  • [11:40] Years later while sitting bedside in hospice, William “popped out” of his body and  was able to communicate with essence, or possibly the soul, of the dying man.

  • [13:20] Fascinating end-of-life phenomenon, which William calls “shared crossings”:  shared death experiences,  pre-death premonitions and visitations, terminal lucidity, direct post-death communication, post-death visions, dreams and visitations, synchronicities.

  • [20:00] Differentiating a shared crossings “adept” vs. a medium – basically it is about who places the call.

  • [28:15] What William means by the euphemism he uses “traversing the veil”.  And what William feels bedside during this shared death experience crossing over the veil between this life and the next with the dying soul.

  • [33:10] The difference between a near death experience and a shared death experience. How difficult it is for the medical community to dismiss a shared death experience.

Topics We Discuss in Part 2:

  • [1:50] William’s methods to enable shared death experiences – talking about death, working through psycho-emotional luggage, meditation, spiritual explorations, guided visualizations.  Ultimately to become more comfortable with the idea of death.  William offers courses

  • [6:01] Losing the fear of death can extend the length of life, even after a terminal diagnosis.

  • [8:20] Shared death experiencers report a deep inner knowing around dying. 51% of loved ones encounter the dying, 16% see a non-human, elevated highly evolved being (angel or spirit guide or other benevolent being of light); 13% experience a deceased relative, 12% of the time someone “sees” the spirit leaving the body.

  • [13:14] The multiple dimensions of shared death experiences, from experiences in our normal earthy dimension, ending with “going into the light”.

  • [20:18] William answers Amy’s speed round questions…
    • Spirituality means…?
    • What is something most people don’t know about you?
    • What is one thing you’re looking forward to?
    • What are you grateful for right now?
    • What book is on your nightstand?
    • What is the most transformative experience of your life?

  • [29:29] Amy’s own recent shared death experience involving the imminent crossing of her sister-in-law’s grandmother, and messages relayed.

10 Jun 2021What Would You Do on Your Last Day? with Alua Arthur00:47:09

“Life only matters because we die.”

        – Alua Arthur

“There is something absolutely miraculous about standing at the doorway of existence.  I am absolutely humbled by it every time. Rather than it being heavy, there is a lightness of being that goes along with it because there is such a mystery to this human ride.”

        – Alua Arthur

Alua Arthur is a death doula, attorney, adjunct professor, and ordained minister. Her goal is to bring grace and compassion to the cycle of life by planning for it and effortlessly tying up the loose ends. Going with Grace exists to support people when they answer the question, “What must I do to be at peace with myself so that I may die gracefully?”, and to support family members completing the affairs of their loved ones life after death.

I am so excited to have Alua on the show today! Today we talk about:

  • After 10 years as social justice attorney what triggered her transition to career path of death doula
    • First, a literally accidental interaction with a young woman her own age facing death
    • Next, helping a dear, close family member and her family walk toward his death, and the resulting grief and depression
    • Then, deep dive into around the topics of death and dying
  • Along with the heaviness and sadness of death -- there is also laughter, joy, tenderness, compassion; the juicy human emotions along with the difficult ones.
  • The miracle of standing at the very doorway of existence.
  • What she observes as death approaches: more difficulty interacting with the outside world, the life force diminishes, loss of appetite for food and drink, changes in skin. Often followed by a “death rally” just before death.
  • We need a functional and cultural death literacy. Considering things like what happens to the body, finances, stuff, grief, what to say, what to do with leftover medication. We need Death Ed.
  • How unlike as an attorney in court, she is able to cry with clients as a death doula
  • Her organization Going With Grace – teaches how to surrender to the process of death.
  • How death makes life more meaningful. Life only matters because we die.
  • Swedish death cleaning – pairing things down, and holding onto only the essential stuff, considering someone needs to deal with your stuff after you are gone.
  • Alua’s values to live authentically, boldly, as fully as possible.
  • How one of these 365 days is our Death Day!
  • We both talk about what we want our deaths to look like.

22 Jul 2021Can YOU See YOUR Scars? with Samuel Moore-Sobel00:35:59

Overcoming Diversity with Burn Survivor Samuel Moore-Sobel

“This isn’t the face I wanted. This isn’t the story I wanted. But it’s what happened...  It took a good eight years not to see my scars as objects of shame or ugliness, but to see them as triumph, to see them as survival.” - Samuel Moore-Sobel, Burn Survivor

Episode Summary:

How would it feel to look at yourself in a mirror and literally not recognize yourself? What if you were literally looking at an image you do not recognize?  Who are we when we no longer recognize ourselves?

In this episode, we talk with Samuel Moore-Sobel -- author, speaker, and columnist. His memoir, “Can You See My Scars?” is the story of a harrowing encounter with sulfuric acid, trauma, and severe burns.  He tells his story of his experience as a 15 year old burn survivor, a series of surgeries, his PTSD, his journey through intertwined physical and mental healing.

Listen in to understand how convert any experience of trauma into a sense of triumph and strength, ultimately making meaning. Everyone is walking around with scars – some seen, some invisible.

Topics We Discuss:

  • The circumstances of his tragic, painful and traumatic accident with sulfuric acid – and the immediate emergency medical treatment to wash the acid off of his body.
  • Growing up overnight, and attempting to return to a new normal through many years and a dozen surgeries to recover physically.
  • Emotional and psychological healing necessary in parallel to physical healing.
  • How his story has helped other people find meaning in their lives after trauma.
  • Transformation from victim to seeing scars as a beautiful part of who you are.

27 Feb 2020The Wonder of You with Lynn K. Russell00:28:53

Lynn K. Russell is a world expert on near-death experiences. She has researched 2500 cases for Dr. Jeffery Long at NDERF Near-Death Experience Research Foundation. She spent many years as a family counsellor. Lynn has a new book out called The Wonder of You, What The Near Death Experience tells you about yourself.  Aside from spirituality she has a keen interest in quantum theory, cosmology, the brain and consciousness.

Today we discuss:

What makes this book different then many of the other NDE books out there today?

Some of the tenants that are in the book and in particular the ones that I believe are most helpful to encourage people’s growth.

  1. Purpose- How do you see purpose as fitting into this?
  2. In the book you talk about responsibility and freedom.  You say “We look at our lives, and ask, is this it? Is there nothing more to life? We are born, grow up, make a living and die.  In between we are saddled with debt and problems. I think a lot of people feel this way, which is pretty grim and depressing. What do NDE’s teach us about this notion of responsibility and freedom.
  3. Knowledge-One of the things that often comes up as a question is why we lose the knowledge of these other realms when we get here.  What do you attribute this to?
  4. You also talk in your book about Fear Death Experience.  This was a new term for me. What exactly do you mean by that?
  5. Let’s talk a bit about consciousness manifestations?  What is it exactly? I know there are a few we can talk about...Prayers and positive thoughts, Placebo, plant and animal consciousness.

25 Feb 2021Surgeon or Shaman? with Dr. David Cumes00:38:56

David Cumes, MD, was born and raised in South Africa and has been exploring ancient African wisdom for contemporary ideas on healing for some time. He has been initiated as an African shaman (sangoma or inyanga) and can testify personally to the value of their divining techniques, the powerful rituals and plant medicines, the altered states of consciousness induced by drumming and the diagnostic power of the bones.

Dr. Cumes is committed to bridging allopathic (science-based, modern) Western medicine and ancient African healing wisdom. Western medicine has brought us many boons but there are glaring deficiencies as well. We focus too much on the intellectual, cognitive and scientific and too little on the intuitive, receptive, artistic, compassionate and mystical. Going back to our root or core self with the help of ancient African wisdom and Nature gives us not only an understanding of our origins but a clear perspective of a new and, at the same time, very old paradigm of healing unconfined to the space/time continuum. Wilderness is the Garden of Eden archetype and the ultimate source of all healing. The original sangoma medicine arose from the natural world and this healing medicine will never change.

Today we talk about:

  • How an African sangoma differs from shamans in other cultures
  • Mysterious diagnostic power of “thrown” animal bones
  • Western medicine’s drift away from traditional healing practices
  • Integrating Western science-based medicine with African healing wisdom
  • The challenge of bringing in traditional practices without western colonization
  • How Western medical colleagues view Cumes’ bilateral approach

22 Jun 2020Do We Really Die Alone?00:25:54

Dr. Debra Diamond, Ph.D. is a natural psychic/medium and medical intuitive who was gifted with her abilities as a child. She provides remarkable insights for her clients to assist in healing and expansion.

Debra earned an MBA from The George Washington University, a Masters Certificate in Contemporary Art from Christie’s Education and a Ph.D. from the Esoteric Interfaith Theological Seminary. She is a graduate of the Holistic Studies Institute of New York, has completed mediumship training at the Arthur Findlay College in the UK and trained at the Carl Jung Institute in Analytical Psychology in Zurich, Switzerland.

Today, I invited Debra back on the show to answer the question that so many are asking right now when they can't be with a loved one in the hospital...Do We Really Die Alone?

So many people right now are left feeling like their loved ones are dying alone and it is awful.  Debra provides her insights on this.

She also discusses how to energetically be with your loved one even though you can’t physically be there.

There is so much grief and sadness particularly when you can’t have a “goodbye.” From your experience in hospice and as a medium what can help with this?

If people do have an opportunity to say goodbye even if it is via a tablet or phone it still feels so unfinished and how do we even know our loved ones hear us.

What do you feel like as people are dying matters most in the end?

27 Apr 2020Channeled Messages from Christy Whitman and "The Council"00:25:34

The Council is a collection of non-physical ascended masters, a collective consciousness, as extensions of source energy. They are teachers, in spirit.

The Council suggested that they teach through Christy Whitman about becoming an Energy Master so that others could learn how to create forms, objects, money, love in the physical world using the spiritual laws of abundance. The Council feels that the ability to become aware, understand and know your energy, where the source is from, how to manage it, how to create with it, how to take visions, dreams, hopes and fantasies and make them real in the physical world is one of the most important skills people can learn to empower themselves and become greater lights to the world around them. They want humans to learn how to manage and master their energy as tools for aliveness and growth, and let go of anxiety, confusion, and guilt in any aspect of life. They want to help people understand they are divinely designed for well-being, abundance, success and loving relationships.

The Council are beings of light. Great guides that exist in the higher dimensions. They are here as assistants and spiritual teachers to help you with personal growth and awaken you to the higher aspects and truth of yourself.

21 Jul 2022Channeling Vagrein with Jessie Herman00:45:32

CHANNELING VAGREIN with JESSIE HERMAN

“It’s all exactly the same energy. It is divided into different parts so that we, as inviduations, can digest it. So there will be someone who can hear the word Christ and listen to that message and receive it in a very different way than someone who maybe believes in aliens, or in a different way than someone who believes in angels. The same energy now is using different channels, using different forms, using arts, using expression, using us as beings to continue to remind us of unity consciousness.” –Jessie Herman, channeler of Vagrein

Episode Summary:

What IS a channel? What, or better yet, WHO is channeled?

Today we talk with Jessie Herman, a former skeptic turned trance-channeler of the entity group who call themselves Vagrein. In these challenging times, since 2019, Vagrein’s messages of love and wisdom are guiding humanity toward unity consciousness.

When not channeling, Jessie is a coach, an energy healer and mother to two, living in in Italy.

Listen in to hear how Jessie put skepticism aside and allowed herself to be a conduit of divine wisdom.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [2:54] How channeling Vagrein unfolded for Jessie, starting from the perspective of a resistant, stubborn skeptic.

  • [5:20] Significance of the name “Vagrein”.

  • [8:04] Vagrein’s purpose for channeling: guiding humanity’s transition toward unity oneness, away from the belief in the concept of separation.

  • [11:03] How the various channels are tapping into one singular energy – whether Christ consciousness, Mother Mary, art, aliens, angels, spirit guides...

  • [14:55]  How Jessie gets out of the way when channeling, removes the influence of her mind, to remain distortion free.

  • [18:24] Culturally moving away from the concept of religious people as “middle men”, and toward having direct access to a higher consciousness.

  • [23:12] Practical integration of Vagrein’s unity concepts into everyday life.

  • [25:37] Energetic forms of service. Holding space. Doing what lights you up is your highest form of service.

  • [27:43] Inspiration, dreams, passions all come from collective consciousness. Eliminating limiting beliefs as key to realization.

  • [32:51] Current events and current human awakening.  Anyone can learn to access to the divine.

  • [41:30] Amy’s speed round questions: What is spirituality? What is something people don’t know about you? What is one thing you’re looking forward to right now? What’s one thing you’re deeply grateful for? What book in on your nightstand? What is your favorite spiritual or healing practice? What is the most spiritually transformative experience of your life?

EPISODE SUMMARY:

How can you give your grief a place to go?

Today I talked with Erika Gabriel, a spiritual teacher, wayfinder, and medium. Her lifelong journey has led her to delivering powerful messages from the spirit world. Because Erika believes everyone can work with Spirit, she has just released a course called The Way and also hosts a podcast.

Listen in to hear about the acceptance of grief, how to connect spiritually by connecting with yourself, and more.

Topics We Discuss:

  • [03:16] The specialness of evidential mediumship is seen when specific things come through and deeply resonate with people. This way, on a spiritual, mental, emotional, and soul-level, that person has an acknowledgement and understanding that their loved one is still with them.

  • [7:42] When you think about a loved one that was on earth that you’re missing, you’re in a painful spot. While you can acknowledge those feelings on earth, talking to them on the other side gives you somewhere to go, because you can think of them now. If you can find a way to listen to your intuitive voice, you can give your grief a place to go.

  • [10:53] For people who want to connect spiritually, don’t focus on the end result. First start to practice connecting with yourself by quieting your mind and listening to your own inner voice.

  • [19:51] Only work with a medium if you feel drawn to them. If you're unsure, your intuition is telling you something isn’t right, or the timing isn’t right. Don’t get the reading.

  • [28:20] People are missing the understanding that we are all connected. We have a direct line to the divine and God. God is running through us, permeating the space around us, and connecting us all. We’re a part of that and chose to come here to experience that. Leaning into that is worship.

  • [30:30] The Way is an opening of self reflection and understanding followed by concrete, down-to-earth tools to help you move through roadblocks and access your true potential.

  • [31:11] If you received everything you ever wanted tomorrow, would you be ready?
