Our guest acted in the latest Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson, David Copperfield starring Dev Patel and hit Netflix series The Crown.

I’m so excited about our guest this week it’d be hard to think of someone better to be on BEST of LONDON. She studied at the prestigious Drama Centre where fellow alumni include Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Michael Fassbender.

She has a love of London that goes so deep that she trained to become one of the world’s best tour guides known as the Blue Badge Tour Guides. These dedicated people train for years to become the best of the best in London tour guiding.

They have to know london inside out and back to front they have to be able to talk in detail about streets where they happen to be guiding in London and they’re so revered that they’re the only external guides allowed to conduct tours at sites like Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London.

A world-class musician with deep London roots and a story unlike any other who's recorded with Oscar winning directors and huge music legends. He's also one of the world’s finest accordionists.

Romano Viazzani grew up in the heart of Soho, one of the rare few raised within its tight-knit Italian community. As a child, he recorded a song at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles made history, and his track went on to be heard by millions around the world.

He's toured the world with bands and written breathtakingly beautiful albums and soundtracks including one which was part of a film by a director who's films have won Oscars and as you'll find out it was a film that I was in.

He's performed alongside musical greats like Grace Jones, Sir Bryn Terfel, and members of Roxy Music. He also won the BBC Album of the Year award as part of a renowned jazz septet.

Our guest built successful music TV channels then travelled the world solo, I joined her for carnivals in Rio and Salvador and to watch the Rolling Stones do a free live concert on a beach. 

Her travels turned out to be life changing, she came back with no money but with a plan to reinvent herself and become one of the UK’s most coveted jewellery designers. She started with a small market stall and her designs are now worn by countless celebrities worldwide and her brand is stocked in iconic stores such as Selfridges and Liberty London.

She won the accolade of being a 'Best of British Designer', and was named next generation female entrepreneur by Economia Magazine. Her work has featured across the media including Grazia and Vogue.

I worked with him for over a decade when I was doing marketing for some of these brands and we sat next to each other and had a great time working with so many other wonderful people there who I’m still lucky enough to call friends. JOHN MEAGHER was recently featured in ROLLING STONE who said he was "Ireland's next great comedian." The Irish Times said “it's like watching a young Irish Billy Connolly” he won an award at last year’s Edinburgh Festival and he's been a finalist at the greatest Best Act competitions including ones at The Hackney Empire, The Leicester Mercury's, the BBC AND The Leicester Square Theatre. 

He’s also turned his hand to investigative journalism and has an explosive documentary coming out on BBC Radio 4 in April called The Devil's Own which is going to shock the world. I was lucky enough to get an inside scoop and I can't believe what he's uncovered. It’s ostensibly about a crazy underground devil-worshipping cult called the White Hoods but what he uncovers is stranger than any fiction you can imagine and if it wasn’t going out on the BBC I wouldn’t even believe it. He tells us more in this episode.

Welcome back to Season 3 of Best of London, I’ve missed you all so much.

For this season there’ll be an episode every 2 weeks as I’ve got another exciting project to reveal soon. 

My guest this week is DR RICHARD BROWN an eminent doctor and scientist who hit headlines around the world when his team used groundbreaking gene therapy to allow a deaf child to hear again. When the news broke in May this year he was interviewed on news TV channels around the world as they all wanted to know about the ground breaking procedure which will help restore hearing for deaf people with auditory neuropathy and will be life changing for many people with this form of deafness.

My guest was a medical student at Oxford University where he was on TV in University Challenge, after he graduated he moved to London to work as a doctor and lived and worked here before moving to Cambridge where he became a consultant paediatrician, he also coaches Hockey but still loves going out in London when he has the time and I can tell you from personal experience he’s great fun on a night out. He has so many great London stories and recommendations and I know you’re going to love this episode. This is Best of London according to Dr Richard Brown.

He devised and co-wrote Car Share which is one of  the most watched Box Sets of all time on the BBC iPlayer and episodes have now been seen by over 20 million people. 

He’s written for Comic Relief, The Royal Variety Show, the Brit Awards and was co-writer of Britain's got the Pop Factor which was Channel 4's most watched show of that year.

He’s also worked in radio for BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and Magic and he co-founded an Insight, Innovation and Strategy Agency called Humanise.

His amazing recent series The Power of Parker was described by The New Statesman as ‘comic perfection’ and is available now on BBC iPlayer. It became the number one highest ranking new Comedy across all UK linear in 2023.

He’s won a BAFTA, a National Television Award, a Royal Television Society Award and even an LA BAFTA.

He launched a series with DAVID ATTENBOROUGH & launched popular TV CHANNELS. He gave a BLUR member a v special ride! He offered to teach DAVE GROHL drums and he's followed by BARACK OBAMA and he's in one of my favourite bands. My guest has SO much insightful advice and recommendations and some great stories. He's helped shape the media and music industries for over 3 decades and he’s a drummer and guitarist in a great band. He got his first glimpse into the media world as a teenager by secretly following a courier into a music magazine and went on to climb the fence at Glastonbury before being invited back with VIP backstage passes. He went on to work for some of the world’s greatest media brands launching a show with David Attenborough and even launching a popular TV channel. He’s been a good friend of mine for a very long time and I can tell you he’s a total original and a wildcard on a night out whether he’s offering to give Dave Grohl drum lessons or dragging an almost naked member of Blur around a dance floor. Or meeting other greats like Nina Simone, James Brown, Van Morrison, John Cleese, the cast of Monty Python and so many other interesting people. I loved this episode as my guest is such an intelligent, funny and warm human being. This is Best of London according to Andy Boothroyd

My guest this week is an award-winning comedian, director, writer, MC and venue co-owner. He's featured on BBC, Channel 4 and Amazon Prime shows. He won the Malcolm Hardee Award and the Spirit of the fringe award at Edinburgh. 

He changed his name to Lionel Richie for 7 years, he created the audio tour of the Edinburgh fringe and performed gigs on an ancient volcano which The Scotsman called their favourite Edinburgh experience, He co-founded the world famous Angel Comedy Club and Bill Murray pub which regularly hosts shows from giants of comedy including Eddie Izzard, James Acaster, Michael McIntyre, Romesh Ranganathan, Nish Kumar, Aisling Bea and Mae Martin.

A special BAFTA winning guest who I’m lucky enough to have known for a long time. He has a hilarious take on things on social media and he shuns the limelight and like my last guest Rachel Jackson he hardly ever gives interviews. He’s one of Britain's best loved writers and he’s created some the UK’s best loved shows. He devised and co-wrote Car Share which is one of  the most watched Box Sets of all time on the BBC iPlayer and episodes have now been seen by over 20 million people. 

He’s written for Comic Relief, The Royal Variety Show, the Brit Awards and was co-writer of Britain's got the Pop Factor which was Channel 4's most watched show of that year.

He’s also worked in radio for BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and Magic and he co-founded an Insight, Innovation and Strategy Agency called Humanise.

His amazing recent series The Power of Parker was described by The New Statesman as ‘comic perfection’ and is available now on BBC iPlayer. It became the number one highest ranking new Comedy across all UK linear in 2023.

Our guest this week is Sweden's funniest comedian. She was born in Canada to Sri Lankan parents and now lives in Sweden. Last year she won Sweden’s biggest comedy competition, and after that she flew to London and won the King Gong Competition at The Comedy Store. She's taken her 3 Wise Women show to festivals and it’s sold out and been a huge success. She’s the thinking person’s comedian and has a masters in political science and she’s even recently taken up lithography. Our guest is one of the UK and Ireland's funniest comedians. The Irish Times said “it's like watching a young Irish Billy Connolly” he won an award at last year’s Edinburgh Festival and he's been a finalist at the greatest Best Act competitions including ones at The Hackney Empire, The Leicester Mercury's, the BBC AND The Leicester Square Theatre. 

He’s also turned his hand to investigative journalism and has an explosive documentary coming out on BBC Radio 4 in April called The Devil's Own which is going to shock the world. I was lucky enough to get an inside scoop and I can't believe what he's uncovered. It’s ostensibly about a crazy underground devil-worshipping cult called the White Hoods but what he uncovers is stranger than any fiction you can imagine and if it wasn’t going out on the BBC I wouldn’t even believe it. He tells us more in this episode.

We recorded this last Summer and my guest was suffering with hayfever, ever the professional he pressed on and still gave a wonderful interview. I met him at the London Premiere of his film Dead On The Vine which has since won the coveted best film award at multiple film festivals.
