78: (Not So) Secret Dad Business- Nate N. 06 Nov 202301:26:14
There is a first time for everything, and today is that day as we do a cross-platform recording and co-host the same show that one can hear on two platforms. We weld together the Young Dad Podcast and (Not So) Secret Dad Business into one beautiful little recording for all to hear from the U.S.A. to down Unda' in Australia and across the globe.  A little about Nathan, the host of (Not So) Sacred Dad Business: his show is fantastic as he talks about all the aspects of fatherhood, men's mental health, and other men's issues- like child trafficking and internet safety and isn't afraid to get into the weeds of other hot button issues. His show is to educate dads like you and me.  A little more about Nate before jumping in since we show the recording across both platforms for all to hear. Nate is a father of 1 and an active dadvocate; he works 50+ hours a week welding and fabrication in Western Sydney, Australia. He is also an incredibly involved father at home and coaches him on the weekends.  Get comfy, pop that straw in your juice box, open that snack, and let's talk.  Find more from Nate: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/notsosecretdadsbusiness/ YouTube/TikTok:@natenewman7  Website: https://www.notsosecretdadsbusiness.com/ From Your Hosts- Jey and Aaron: Jey is a published Children's book Author! 76: Making Men Academy- Isaiah Keene23 Oct 202301:15:02

Today, we are discussing manhood and what that transition looks and feels like for young men. It's a confusing, scary, and great big world out there for our young men today, and any guidance that is good, faith-based, and from first-hand experience is worth a listen.

If you're not a person of faith, believing in God and the Bible, this episode might not be for you. However it is for us, it's a part of our lives, and we are proud to talk about His word and its impact on our lives whenever we can.

Today, we dove into Isaiah's message with his channel, which is fueled by 1st Timothy 4:12 (N.I.V. translation): "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, faith, and purity." Digging a little deeper, we talked about honoring the masculine role God has tasked us with- being an ambassador and soldier of the Kingdom of Heaven. That might mean marriage for some, the blessing of singleness, and the sole focus on God for others, regardless of the end goal, is the same.

Listen in as we talk about the above, along with masculine mentality, health and physical fitness for men, understanding and interacting correctly with women, relationships, setting and achieving goals, and much more.

74: Single Dad Reboot- Craig Y. 09 Oct 202301:04:52

It's an absolute honor and joy to welcome back one of our good friends and the first guest and first EVER return guest, your host of (Not so) Single Dad Reboot- Craig Y.

It was fun to catch up with my old friend Craig as we talked about Toxic Relationships, lack of mental health awareness, and the importance of communication. We also dove deep into talking about divorce: how your divorce doesn't define you, the shift in attitude towards divorced people, the need for support during and after divorce, and all that you can learn from divorce.

Craig's platform and show "Single Dad Reboot" is about helping people recover from divorce and helping parents transition into shared custody/single parenting. You share your experience with others to help them share theirs. This is precisely how Craig and I initially connected- listen in to learn more.

73: Welcome to Fatherhood/ Miscarriage Dad- Kelly J.P. 02 Oct 202301:09:52

Young is our last name, and Fatherhood is our game.

Trigger warning: today, we will discuss early pregnancy loss, aka miscarriage, and it is approached with sensitivity, respect, and empathy.  Kelly Jean-Philippe is a father of two boys ages 3 and 7 months. He and his wife have been married for the past 5 years. Along their journey of starting and growing their family, Kelly and his wife experienced multiple miscarriages. The profound impact of these experiences on Kelly has led him to start a movement advocating for fathers to receive an equal level of support and resources as mothers in the event of early pregnancy loss. You can follow this grassroots movement @themiscarriagedad on IG, and subscribe to the upcoming “The Miscarriage Dads” podcast which is normalizing dads openly talking about the father’s experience of miscarriage.

It's about that time. Pull up a chair, grab a juice box, grab a snack, and talk with our guest, Kelly, the host of the Welcome to Fatherhood Podcast and the Miscarriage Dad Podcast, releasing TODAY! Kelly also runs The Miscarriage Dad page on I.G. Kelly became a dad in 2020/2023, and being a dad means discovering who I am by discovering who my children are, and I think that's just beautiful.

With that in mind, get comfy, pop that straw into your juice box, open your snack, and let's talk.

As I said, we spoke today about early pregnancy loss; we jumped into the social double standards, grief, loss, and some complex and real topics that 1/4 of fathers will face (as 1/4 pregnancies result in early loss) buckle up as this episode is probably a top 3!

72: Daringly Dad- Jeff N. 25 Sep 202301:02:28

Girl Dad + Parent Hood + Humor = Love and Sapp

Jeff is one cool dude, and I knew this episode would be one for the ages when he was asked what being a dad meant to him. "To put it into the simplest of terms (because we all know it's complex), It means trying to be a great example of what a good human is and trying to recreate that in a tiny human while also understanding that this child/tiny human is their person and has their personality, so respecting that too." Granted, this is something fluid and ever-changing, but this right here is a great mindset to keep.

Over @darlinglydad on I.G., you can find Jeff "share clips of my daughter and I enjoying new experiences. I do this with parenting quotes that mean something to me and through humor. I call it "laughs & saps" because sometimes it's funny, and sometimes it's serious and can get a little sappy. I keep it as light as possible since we all have our stuff going on and often turn to social media to escape it. I hope my daughter can look back at this account one day, see the clips, see my captions, share in on the laughs, and see how much I love being her dad."

Being a dad is so freaking cool, and as we discussed, neither of us can understand why you'll don't step up and hang out with your kids more.

Another fantastic thing we discussed is how it's not just mom being the "default parent," our generation, and all you amazing dads following Jeff and us are helping break and, honestly, OBLITERATE that stigma. We both are so proud of you for killing it and being great dads.

68: Everyday Parents Podcast- Caitlin & Jerome28 Aug 202300:54:35
It's Caitlin and Jerome! Joining us today are the hosts of the Everyday Parents podcast- Jerome and Caitlin. They are fellow parent-casters with your show Everyday Parents- A day-in-the-Life podcast, where you interview parents about their daily lives. You guys are also from Michigan, the land of 10,000 lakes. What does being a parent mean to these two? "It means I'm too tired to think about these probing questions at the end of the day, lol. But for both of us, it's something we take super seriously regarding the responsibility of raising our daughter to be a caring, capable person. Right now, with her only 18 months, that feels far off. Still, we constantly discuss how to approach different phases and behaviors to keep her healthy and developing."  One of the best things we discussed is that no one has it all figured out when it comes to parenting, which makes it so fun. We also discussed the baby phase, deciding to stay at home, finding pockets of time together as new parents, being a stay-at-home dad, and so much more. These two were a true joy to have on the show.  You can find more of Caitlin and Jerome: Twitter/ X: @everydayparentz Instagram: @everydayparentspod Facebook pages: facebook.com/everydayparentspod Website. www.everydayparentspod.com  Jey is a published Children's book Author! 66: Daddying Film Festival- Allan Shedlin14 Aug 202300:59:28
We are back! It's been a fantastic couple of weeks off, wrapping up the summer and having a bunch of fun with our families, and now as we gear up for the back-to-school craziness, we also gear up for season 4 of the show, thank you so much for being here.  We kick off the show with Allan, creator of the Daddying Film Festival. Allan is a man who has over 150 years of experience being a daddy and granddad as well. To him, being a dad is more than just who you are; it's what you do.  Today, we discuss the zenith of fatherhood/daddying and how they intersect. Allan takes us through his journey and all he has learned about going from fathering to daddying. Lastly, Allan and I talk about how our kids want us; they want our time and love.  Jey is a published Children's book Author! Yes, our very own! 65: Kingdom Fathers World- Christopher31 Jul 202301:11:05

What a way to end season 3 of the show; first, thank you all for your love, support, listens, and everything you have given us over the past 41 episodes + bonus for nearly 60+ episodes. This has been a journey, and we can't believe we will enter season 4 soon. Thank you all! We will be returning with new episodes on August 16th!

Today, on the show, we welcome Chris, the man, myth, and legend behind Kingdom Father's world. On the show today, we get after it! We talk about how Chris got started into Dad content. The brothers and Chris talked about God, his timing, love, and blessing on us. Sidebar: if that's not your thing, we get it. Stay listening

Aaron was the catalyst in this episode as he helped us break down some excellent questions you might be thinking yourself. 1: What do you do, and how do you deal with a new father figure entering the picture? 2: What's crucial in healing after a divorce and moving on with life? Sidebar: some adult language is used during this episode, hence the little E by the title.

We end by asking Chris what it means to him to be a dad and his parting wisdom for all of you listening. It's great. You will want to take advantage of it.

64: Dream Dad USA- Brian Hagens24 Jul 202300:57:43

I had no idea what to think as we started this conversation with Brian, but I'm glad we started, continued, and finished as I left feeling fired up to be a better dad, and you will too.

Brian took us through his journey growing up bouncing houses, to college, to a college basketball career, playing professionally in Germany, to having his oldest son at 20, and up to how and why Dream Dads USA was created.

The best takeaways from our semi-finale of season three featured: keeping it real, the struggle of a father, dealing with the stress of fatherhood, dealing with mental and emotional issues as a father, getting your kids involved in your thoughts, being the best person for your daughter and so much more within this episode.

63: As Dad As It Gets- Larry 17 Jul 202301:25:38

"And that, as we say, is As Dad As It Gets," it was a lot of fun sitting down and chatting with Larry. Larry was such a pleasure to talk to, and we could have gone for hours, no pun intended. Larry took us through his journey into parenthood: infertility, becoming a foster parent, and ultimately leading to getting a single Facebook message 48 hours later; he and his wife were at the hospital welcoming their daughter into this world. I know a wild and crazy ride.

As we went through the episode, Larry and Jey talked about some of the most exciting questions Larry gets as a foster/adoptive parent; the two chatted about some fears, connecting with the biological family of adoptive parents, how our girls will go from the most loving creatures to busting noses the next second and much more about our kids. We ended our chat by discussing how after you become a parent, you must redefine your relationship with your friends; you might get left behind if you have girls and your friends have boys. Most importantly, how meaningful your relationship with your partner is, and to wrap it all us, Larry left us some excellent parting wisdom as we closed. We hope you enjoy it.

62: Well-Balanced Dad Diet: Be Dedicated06 Jul 202300:16:25

As we dedicate ourselves to prioritizing our time, we quickly see where the things that bring us happiness and value. We see where what brings us value. As we reflect, you accept the offers I extended to you here today, and I gave you some ways to prioritize your time and what that might look like; there's a theme: remember to keep it simple. It doesn't have to be big or expensive. What matters is what you are doing and who you're doing it with, be dedicated, loyal, and fully present. By doing this, you will see what is truly valuable in our lives. Our time and money should not be spent doing anything with people who don't matter, things that don't bring us value, and things that won't bring us and those with us joy. 61: Well-Balanced Dad Diet: Stay Present & Show Up05 Jul 202300:16:07

It's time to wake up, smell the roses, and engage with yourself. Often as parents, we find ourselves busy as heck. Between school, our jobs, extracurricular activities, chores, and managing everything that comes with the home, it's nearly 9/10 pm before we even begin to settle down the day. When we do, we are tired, we can feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and like a whole day slipped through our fingers. Where did the day go? Do you think back at the end of your day about how you missed out in one way or another when it came to your kids, partner, friends, and work and that you just missed the mark? Your mind may be in other places.

Did you know I have been staking a MAJOR WIN and got my FIRST children's Book Published?

The story's moral is to take the time to see your wins, celebrate them, and when you fail or fall short, forgive yourself and be patient. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and you will become the best version of yourself after a while. Trust me, I'm still working towards that version of me, I'm getting closer, but it's a lifelong path I'm on, and so are you. Continue to work towards your goals, create new ones, and never stop improving and becoming your best.

Did you know I have been staking a MAJOR WIN and got my FIRST children's Book Published?

58: Well-Balanced Dad Diet: Eliminate Excuses02 Jul 202300:11:47

Eliminate the excuses of why you can't be the best teammate to all these people by questioning why you can't. Why not you? Why can't you do all these things? You give them freely already; why can't you significantly add a couple more layers if that improves the situation? Remember you have the support; you have the people there for you, use them rely on them, and start eliminating the excuses one by one and slowly to get to the end goal or whatever the excuses are keeping you from; it'll be more than worth it when you get through it all and end up on the other side of it all.

No more excuses; let's go!

Did you know that I stopped making excuses and got my FIRST children Book Published?

57 (YDP Banger)- Evan Corbett01 Jul 202300:38:13

Let's take a stroll down memory lane, as we revisit the conversation with Evan, a dad who has a beautiful little girl with Sturge Weber syndrome. We originally recorded this back in December of 2022, with a missed week and the holiday, 2 YDP Bangers in store for you guys, and we will resume season 3 the week of July 12 with a new release.

Greetings from 'Down Unda' on this show's episode, the brothers welcome Evan, whose princess has the rare and uncommon Sturge Weber Syndrome. Evan joins the show from Australia and takes us along his journey as a dad with a daughter with a disability. Please note: this episode does have adult language, not used for harm and may not be for everyone..

Evan then takes us on the journey through life with his princess from the beginning, the ups and downs, the good and evil, and what it has been like for him and his partner.
