Luka wants the Mavericks to upgrade the team before the trade deadline, but with their lack of assets can they make any moves or are they better off waiting until this offseason to make a real splash? Also Marc Cuban gets mad at Tim Mcmahon over his reporting of this information. The Wizards have put Rui Hachimura on the trade block in order to clear a log jam for Kyle Kuzma at the four so they can pay him and their entire a ton of money this summer. We laughed at them for a little over this. 

During the Patreon part of the episode talked about the report that Harden really wants to play with Eric Gordon in Houston apparently so we will discuss whether we believe this new report. We also talked about the mess that is the Rockets following the John Wall podcast interview where he talked about Harden, Jalen Green and KPJ. Next we talked about Atlanta Hawks rookie AJ Griffin being the potential steal of the 2022 draft before redrafting the top five of that draft based on the rookie's careers so far. Finally we riffed on a bunch of things including who would win this weekend's NFL playoff games (including Giants vs. Eagles obviously), which pizza chain restaurant is the best, all while Sam was dying slowly during the Warriors Celtics game that the Celtics ended up winning anyway.

We live reacted to the news that the Lakers would be working out Meyers Leonard before we reviewed and broke down Bill and Zach's podcast about the Eastern Conference all stars. We talked about our beefs with their selections, methodology and why they hate on certain players (cough Harden). Also, should Embiid start over Giannis or Tatum? The statistical argument is heavily in his favor. We then made our 12 all star selections for the Eastern Conference and talked about a few guys who just missed the cut for us. Throughout this we also discussed some minor trade slop from the Pacers and a trade idea involving the Raptors and Lakers. Following his insane 71 point performance vs. the Chicago Bulls we revisit the trade that sent Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Did the Jazz make a mistake trading Mitchell when they did and for the package that they did or did the trade work for both sides? Chicago Bulls optimist Trey Kerby from the No Dunks podcast stopped by to talk about his Bulls weird start to the season. We discussed many things including the dreaded treadmill of mediocrity, who he considers part of the Bulls core, whether he would explore tanking, rebuilding or resetting this year. We then talked about if they could turn the season around by changes to their starting line up or rotation. I also pitched a trade rumor that I heard involving the Bulls and the Lakers, Sam played devil's advocate with the Bulls present and future and we tried to figure out if they could steal a game or two off one of the conference favorites if they reach the playoffs.    After our convo with Trey, I gave my quick thoughts on the Sixers turning it around recently and then we discussed the first kind of real slop that dropped this season: former all star Kemba Walker signing with the Dallas Mavericks. Does it even matter? Will it help turn their season around? Is the Mavs organization fraudulent and Luka Doncic Merchants?  We finished the episode with a MVP based psychosis conversation because Sam is currently experiencing the same thing that Sixers fans experienced the past two years with advanced metrics going against his sweet baby boy Jayson Tatum. The now .500 Sixers were brought back to life by Joel Embiid's absolutely amazing two way performance on Sunday night vs. the Utah Jazz. Embiid returned to MVP form with a near 60 point quadruple double where he picked apart the Jazz scoring at will and setting up his teammates in a way we have never seen before. He also returned to his elite form on the defensive end as a rim protector and pick and roll defender vs. one of the best early season offenses in the NBA. Part of me was extremely excited to see Embiid dominate and another part of me was concerned that we still need these kind of performances in order to win games! But the Sixers are back on track with Harden returning in 2-3 weeks and should be fighting for a top four seed in the East moving forward. After the Embiid and Sixers discussion we discussed the Golden State Warriors who are currently struggling to start the season. We talked about this being the potential end of their dynasty and whether a trade could save them before going over a handful of fake trades involving disappointing prospects James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga. Our definition of a prospect is someone who is 25 years and younger right now. When drafting players we are not taking contacts into consideration. This is just the players that we would take moving forward if we ran an NBA team.
